~Lucy's P.O.V.~

"I'm fine minna," I called back after recovering from the blow. "Don't worry about me, just give me some cover!" They all looked hesitant to leave me, but nodded and started attacking the black monsters. I then turned back my attention to Natsu. He was walking towards me, showing no sign of emotion. "Natsu, please," I begged. "Don't you remember me?" He kept on walking. No response.

'I think he's beyond reason Lucy,' Loke's voice entered my head.

'I know, but...' I said back in my head. 'He's Natsu for crying out loud!'

'..Are you sure about that Lucy?' My eyes widened at Loke's comment. I looked back at Natsu. Fire enveloped his hands, looking as if they were aimed to burn me. The expression on his face was one that I never thought Natsu could accomplish.

....But he was still Natsu.

"I'm sure," I said out loud, determination flowing through me. "Onegai (please), send me power Loke!"

'Yokai!' Loke answered. Almost immediately I felt magic power flow throughout my body and my hands began to glow.

"Regulus Blast!" I chanted, gathering the light into an orb. When it was big enough, I pushed out both of my hands, sending out a golden beam towards Natsu. Unfortunately, he swiftly jumped out of the way and slammed his hands onto one of the house's roof to soften his fall.

"Fire Dragon.." he murmured, his voice soft and threatening. It didn't sound like Natsu at all. "Roar." With that soft mutter, an enormous amount of fire flew towards me. I jumped out of the way, but a bit of it licked my arm. It burned way more than it did when he had accidentally burned me in the infirmary. Has his power increased? I thought in my head.

"In that case.." I muttered to myself. "Loke, switch with Aquarius!"

'Hai,' Loke answered, and I felt his presence get 'switched' out with another one's.

'Oi yaro!' a very irritated voice entered my head. 'The hell you want me for? I was on a date with Scorpio!' I slightly sweatdropped at her anger, but shook it off, remembering we were still in a battle.

"Can you lend me your power?" I asked in a serious tone.

'Tch, stupid brat,' Aquarius scoffed, but her voice was shockingly soft. 'You should know by now that you don't have to ask.' I suddenly felt a new kind of magic seep into my body, and just in time too.

"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist," Natsu chanted in a bored tone instead of his usual "fired up" voice. I turned around just in time to use a spell.

"Water Barrier!" I said. A dome of water surrounded me, making Natsu hit the barrier. Thankfully it didn't break.

I dispelled the barrier and used the water in a different way.

"Water Strike!" I punched Natsu right in his expressionless face, making him fly backwards and slam into one of the nearby walls. I cringed. Gomen, Natsu.. I apologized in my head. But I will do whatever it takes for you to snap out of this. I thought a strong punch to the head (or face) would break the spell, but unfortunately, I was wrong. I stood in sorrow and slight fear as I saw Natsu get up like he didn't even take an ounce of damage, his eyes eerily glowing (picture). What now? Talking to him won't work, and hitting him didn't either...

....I'm running out of options...

"Give up already." I froze. I turned to see Natsu right in front of me. Since when did he-?!

"W-what?" I stuttered quietly.

"You and your friend will die," he said bluntly, his pitch black eyes staring right into mine. "This world will be covered in darkness by Master." My eyes widened. I was surprised that that was what he was being forced to call him now, but I just processed what he just said.

"Give up?" I questioned.

"Yes," he replied emotionlessly. All of a sudden, I could feel this new feeling running through my veins. It was unlike anything I've ever felt before.

Pure rage.

'O-oi brat, you should move away from him, it's-' Aquarius warned, but I tuned her out of my head before she could finish.

"Give up?" I said again, my voice getting louder. "Give up?!" I grabbed the collar of Natsu's shirt for the first time. He didn't seemed fazed, just kept on giving me that emotionless expression that wasn't like him. That wasn't like my Natsu.

"This isn't you Natsu!" I practically screamed, the rage taking over me. "You're carefree and reckless and loyal and protective and a perv, and..." The words were stuck in my throat, but the pure anger I had and the intensity of the moment made me do something else, that may have been worse in some cases.

I kissed him.

I shoved his body towards mine and made our lips meet. I was closing my eyes, but I could tell he was surprised by this gesture. Soon he melted into our kiss, and I could his warm hands wrap around the back of my neck and back. For what seemed like eternity, we stayed like this, enjoying the moment. Eventually I had to break the kiss for the need of air. I rested my forehead onto Natsu's, slightly frightened that if I open them I wouldn't see what I wanted to see.

"Lu...cy.." But that was my evidence that I would.

I slowly opened my eyes and they met with the perfect shade of obsidian.

"Natsu!" I exclaimed, a very broad grin forming on my lips. I threw myself onto him, practically squeezing the air out of him.

"Luce...can't breathe.." he gasped. I laughed, loving the sound of emotion in his voice. I eventually did let him go though. "W-what happened though..?" he frowned, a hand on his spiky salmon hair. My smile faltered, but did not fade.

"You don't remember anything?" I asked in a soft tone. He blinked a couple times.

"The last thing I remember that's clear was chasing after one of those annoying black creatures, and then after that it's all blurry.." he admitted before looking around his surroundings. "Where are we anyways?" I opened my mouth to answer him, but something black caught the corner of my eye. My eyes widened and my instincts kicked in.

"WATCH OUT NATSU!" I screamed, pushing him out of the way. The next thing I know was the feeling of excruciating pain right through my chest.

"LUUUUUUUCY!!!!!!!!!!"

Oh. My god.

I-I think I just killed Lucy.

I. Just killed. One half. Of da Nalu.
