History: The concept of Germany as a distinct region in central Europe can be traced to Roman commander Julius Caesar, who referred to the unconquered area east of the Rhine as Germania. In 962, Otto I became the first emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, the medieval German state.
In the High Middle Ages, the regional dukes, princes and bishops gained power at the expense of the emperors. Martin Luther led the Protestant Reformation against the Catholic Church after 1517, as the northern states became Protestant, while the southern states remained Catholic. The two parts of the Holy Roman Empire clashed in the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), which was ruinous to the twenty million civilians. 1648 marked the effective end of the Holy Roman Empire and the beginning of the modern nation-state system, with Germany divided into numerous independent states, such as Prussia, Bavaria and Saxony.
Economy and status: Germany is doing well as a nation currently. Since he's part of the G8 (and unfortunately due to his history) almost everyone recognizes him.
Why he came to Camp International: If not the most powerful Germany is the most dominant member of the G8, which is why he came to camp partly to help sort out the nation's and partly for his own safety (attacks on Berlin have happened before).

Description: Germany is a tall, muscular man, with sleek blond hair and blue eyes. Usually he slicks his hair back in a neat, orderly fashion although sometimes he leaves it down when no one's looking. Usually he wears either a green Wehrmacht, or a Waffen-SS officers' uniform with a Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on the collar.
Personality: He is a tough, too-serious, and efficient man who always abides by the rules and is "weak to" them. He often has difficulty leaving his commanding, serious mode and relaxing, even for the sake of another. He does not tolerate any mistakes, is a neat freak, and happens to have a rather pessimistic nature. However, his personality is sincere as he doesn't really know how to be anything else. His hobbies include making sweets (including his secret love of baking cakes), reading, and walking his dogs. He seems to have inherited his brothers' stubborn traits and can be extremely headstrong. Germany is awkward when talking to women, though acts as a father figure to younger nations (though usually they're scared of him) and thus can speak with younger girls without trouble. He can hold his beer extremely well, although he can't handle wine and becomes very talkative if he gets any in his system.

Allies: Japan ~ As allies during WWII, the two get along well although Germany cannot really tell what Japan really thinks. They have a similar love for engineering.

Italy ~ Germany has a soft spot for Italy. Even though he didn't do much as an ally, the two are very close. Usually Italy goes to Germany for help when he's cornered.

Prussia ~ They're brothers. What can I say? They get along as drinking buddies even though they bicker a little.

Finland ~ They don't mind each other much although the other Nordics are scared of him.

Native America ~ Germany is somewhat sympathetic to him as he understands a little because of Prussia. The two have a common love of dogs. Usually they sit together in silence, but sometimes they will tease each other ie. Native America will tease him about baking and Germany will tease him about his siblings.

Enemies: England ~ This is entirely on England's part as Germany has no ill will towards him.

Greece and Athens ~ I wouldn't say they're enemies, but they are scared of Germany because they owe him cash.

France ~ Germany and France do not get along well as Germany still harbors a grudge against him.

Romano ~ Again, entirely on Romano's fault. Germany has tried to be friendly, but Roma refuses.

Skills: Germany is skilled at engineering and works with metal extremely well. His cooking is decent, but he's really skilled at baking. Due to his military past, he can play any stringed instrument you put in front of him.

Other: He has a crush on Italy (but quiet don't tell anybody or he will make you run 100 laps)
