"Daniel! Get a grip!"Jake shouted while Daniel bursted into tears

"It's been five months Jacob! I can't live anymore, I feel like dying"Daniel said in between sobs, Jake watch him warily looking at how broken he is

"You can't continue like this Daniel! Cause of a woman? You're letting your life go?!"Jake said sounding angry

"You don't understand"Daniel's voice crack

"You're forgetting Rita left me, I learned Daniel! I learnt that you can't force people to stay and you can't stop your life because someone who left you, if they leave it shows they never values you anyways" Jake said angrily

"I love her!"Daniel said sobbing

"And you have to make her regret leaving you, you wouldn't want her to come back and see you looking this pathetic"

"I don't know"Daniel said shaking his head

"So you mean the networking is not enough in this area?"Daniel asked at thesame time he place his left hand in the head rest of the chair he is sitting on

"Sir... I mean..."one of the board members shutters

"Wait! Did you bring me down to port Harcourt to show me how pathetic all of you're?! I need a hierarchical structure of each progression!"Daniel says hitting his hand on the table making everyone to jump in fear

"We will get it as soon as possible...."

"Hello babe!"Daniel heard kate's voice

"You around? Wanna pick you up?"Daniel asked removing his tie, the meeting didn't go as planned

"Uhmm! No, my mom came over and send me on some errands, what about tomorrow?"Kate said and Daniel huffed angrily

"See you tomorrow!"he says before ending the call, he sighed tiredly. He wanted to release himself of the stress he went through but now Kate isn't here to do so

"Sir! The car is ready"Daniel's driver said and Daniel smiled at him

"You shouldn't worry, I feel like walking. Go with the car, I will call you when I need you"Daniel said and the call ended

Daniel started walking looking at the busy street of port Harcourt when his phone started ringing, he dip his hand inside his pocket and pull out his phone, he picked the call smiling

"Eze one!"Daniel said and Jake bursted into laughter

"The richest CEO in town!"Jake said and Daniel snorted before bursting into laughter

"You know you're funny right?"Daniel asked

"I thought you're the only funny one"Jake said chuckling "when are you coming back?"

"Is Tolani there in Abuja?"Daniel asked chuckling

"Oh please! I haven't even see her for years now"Jake replied rolling his eyes

"I know, I was just pulling your legs"Daniel said chuckling "the meeting didn't go as planned and Kate isn't available to release me of the stress I went through"Daniel said and Jake bursted laughter

"There are fine clubs in port Harcourt, you could grab any lady you want"Jake said and Daniel chuckled

"You know STD is real"Daniel said and Jake rolled his eyes

"Oh please! You forgot how you spent your twenty fifth birthday smashing all ladies you set your eyes on, I can't believe you slept with more girls than me"Jake said and Daniel bursted into full grown laughter

"I'm not handsome for no reason"Daniel said and Jake snorted

"Oh please! As if you're much handsome than me"Jake says

"Keep deceiving yourself, it's not like I have slept with much girls. You know the last time we went clubbing that girl who boldly came to kiss me added to the one hundred and sixteen counts"Daniel said and Jake eyes went wide

"Seriously you're a brostitude! Ewww!"Jake said and Daniel bursted into laughter "I remember the time you were so innocent, the time you only slept with two women in your whole life"Jake said and Daniel became quiet and stopped walking, his mind wandered to this two women, one Bianca who left the country after spending a year in jail with the help of Jake and two Monica,the one he secretly yearn for and never got to know her whereabout again

"We will talk later"Daniel said ending the call, he sighed and looked around wondering where his legs have took him to. He wasn't in the bustling street again but in a very quiet area filled with bungalow buildings.

He didn't mind he doesn't know where he is and continue walking when a running kid mistakenly fell on him, he grabbed the kid immediately stabling him from falling down, he saw the kid wiping a tear from his eyes and knelt beside him

"Hey! Little man, look at me! What's wrong with you?"Daniel asked and the little boy hiccupped

"I.... I...."the little kid couldn't talk, Daniel open his mouth to speak but heard a voice that had became a memory to him

"Daniel!"

Monica finished washing the used plates in the restaurant, she used towel to wipe her hand when she saw Faith coming inside the kitchen with a tray, she's angry at her for what she said earlier and decided to avoid her

"Daniel should be back from school now"Faith said

"Hmm"Monica replied and Faith sighed giving up, Monica is always like that whenever they fought especially when what Faith is saying is right. Faith left the kitchen and Monica removed her apron getting ready to go and pick junior up. She left the restaurant walking to Junior's when she saw the little boy crying while walking on the road

"Akin! What's wrong with you?"Monica asked crossing to the other side to see her son, she knelt before him immediately

"Why are you crying my baby?"Monica asked and junior bursted into tears

"My classmates were mocking me that I don't have a father, they refuse to eat the snacks you bought to school"Junior said hiccuping "mama they say all kids have a father and when we were thought about family. My anty says a family consist of father, mother and children, so where is my father?" Monica couldn't talk, she's so angry and scared at thesame time. She angry at fact they bully her son because he doesn't have a father figure and she's sad because she can't provide him a father, she had promised to stay clear away from anything that concerns Daniel

"Monica!"Faith shouted covering her mouth up "what happened to your face?"Faith asked and Monica bursted into tears "you shouldn't cry in a crowded place" Faith said leading her out of the park

".... And now I want to abort this pregnancy, I need to start all over again. I realise my mistake, it cost me my job"Monica said her shoulder slumping after she finished narrating her story to Faith, who was quiet throughout the ordeal

"What?! Abort the pregnancy? Monica! A baby that I want?! I got married thesame year we finished from our university and guess what? I lost my marriage cause the hospital confirms that I'm infertile, I can never have a child on my own. Lord knows I will give anything to be a mother of my own but I can't and now that God had bless you with a bundle of joy,you want to abort it!"Faith said angrily

"It's not easy for me...."Faith cut Monica short

"I will take care of you and the baby, all the needs till you're ready to stand on your own again"Faith said and Monica sighed

"It's not about the money"Monica said and Faith frowned

"What's it about?"Faith asked

"I can't have this baby, it will only tie me with the past"Monica said and Faith sighed

"Okay let's do this. You will have this baby and if you still don't want the baby we will give it out for adoption"Faith said and Monica remain quiet thinking

"Okay, that will do"Monica said and Faith smiled.

"You gave birth to a baby boy"Faith said and Monica forcefully raise her head to see the baby, she had been in labour for three days and already exhausted all her energy

"He doesn't look like me"Monica said smiling down at the baby, her heart filled with love immediately

"He most look like his father, what do you want to name him?"Faith said and Monica close her eyes thinking. There wasn't any other name that came to her mind except Daniel, all she could see is his image

"Daniel"Monica said

"Daniel junior Akinwale"

"What a beautiful name"Faith said cuddling the baby "do you still want to give him up for adoption?"Faith asked and Monica felt threatened, she can't even imagine herself without her baby and it isn't even up to an hour she gave birth to him

"No, I'm keeping my baby"Monica said and Faith smiled widely, at least her plan worked

"You shouldn't listen to whatever your mates says"Monica said trying to control the tears that wants to leave her eyes, she tried wiping away junior's tears but junior took a step back

"I want to see my daddy. I want to play with my daddy like every kids does, I want to have a daddy"Junior said and started crying again

"Oh my God! Daniel! Will you stop it, am I not enough for you?!"Monica yelled frustratedly. Daniel shook his head before running away, Monica run after him. She was scared of anything happening to him, Junior wasn't one of the best runner in his class for no reason, he ran fast away and Monica have to look for him feeling scared

"Oh my God! Just let me see him"Monica muttered and suddenly saw him, standing while a man was kneeling beside him, it felt like they were talking and Monica's heart skipped a bit, she doesn't trust strangers and run faster to them

"Daniel!"she called and the two of them turn to look at her. She stood momentarily shocked trying to remember where she knows the face from, it slowly clicked on her head she had seen someone she plans never seeing again. But he wasn't thesame

He grew beards, his chest wider and looks more manly. All traces of boyishness Monica saw in him that time vanished and she believed right then eight years is enough to change someone, she became self conscious immediately when she heard her name from his tongue, a voice she had grown to miss and became part of her memory

"Monica!"Daniel called thesame time junior called

"Mummy!"
