Fred was busy doing his laundry when he heard a knock on his gate. He stopped what he was doing and went over to open the gate. He was surprised to see one of his friends who is more of an acquaintance.

"Arghh! Sam! Sam! This one I'm seeing you this early morning"Fred said and his friend Sam smiled

"So someone cannot visit his friend again?"Sam asked and Fred chuckled

"Pardon my manners. Come inside"Fred said and they walk inside the building. Sam sat on one of the sofas, Fred served him a very chill malt drink

"Argh! In this harmattan. You want to kill me,ain't you feeling cold?"Sam asked and Fred chuckled

"The harmattan is not that strong na, this is just November"Fred said and Same gave him the silly look

"Stone cold! Well done sir."Sam said and Fred laughed

"Ehen no work today?"Fred asked

"Today is Saturday na"Sam replied and they bursted into laughter "I didn't see you at Joel's mini engagement party"

"Joel? Engagement party? When?"Fred asked looking confused

"He didn't tell you too? I don't know what's wrong with that guy o, it was one of my friends that's a nurse at the hospital that he works at that told me he had an engagement party,I was like maybe he didn't tell me because we are not that close. You know I know him through you but I attended nevertheless,he apologized for not inviting me telling me it is unplanned, I said okay and I was surprised you were not there too"Sam said and Fred watched him as if he had grown two heads

"I don't understand this Sam, I knew he talked about a girl one certain time I never knew it had gotten to the extent of engaging her. I'm just surprised Joel could keep something as important like this away from me."

"I have their pictures self, I snapped them"Sam said

"Lemme see. I don't even know the girl"Fred replied. Sam took his phone from his jeans pocket. He looked for the picture he wants to show Fred after seeing it he handed the phone over to Fred

"Thank you"Fred said and collects the phone from him. He look at the picture and got shocked,he can't believe it.

His anger slowly started rising,how can Joel do this to him. He was busy telling him his problems and he was there advising him while he betrays him taking away the woman he wants from him

"What's wrong?"Sam asked looking confused

"Now I know why he was hiding it from me, please don't be angry I will be leaving the house"Fred said and Sam nodded in understanding. He stood up and left his compound still feeling confused

Fred went inside his room and change to a dark blue jeans trouser and a multi colour button up short sleeve shirt.

He rushed out of the door making sure to lock the door behind him. He entered his car driving out of his compound

"What's wrong with you?"Joel asked. Fred and Joel were sitting on Joel's sitting room, Fred don't look good at all

"Sofia left me. I thought I am her only man but I didn't know she has a main man,she was busy extorting money from me to start a new life with her nigga"Fred said and Joel got confused

"Who is Sofia?"Joel asked

"The girl I'm in relationship with. To say I broke up with my Fiancee because of her"Fred snorted laying his head on the sofa

"Wait! Wait wait! You have a fiancee that's another person?"Joel asked looking confuse

"Yes and it's a long story. Can you imagine I broke up with her because of Sofia? My fiancee is beautiful and all but when I lay my eyes on Sofia her shape caught me,my girl isn't like that and I thought I could snoop around,I wasn't that smart though"Fred said

"What happened?"Joel asked

"I asked Sofia out and she accepted,we started dating and two months later my fiancee caught us having sex in our bed. She broke up with me and our wedding was supposed to be the following day"Fred said and Joel eyes went wider

"How can you bring her to your soon to be matrimonial home. Fred what was wrong with you? And to say she broke up with you?"Joel said shaking his head

"I'm at lost now Joel. I loose an home and away match"Fred said and Joel chuckled

"Is she with another person? I mean your ex fiancee?"Joel asked

"I don't think so"Fred said

"Then talk to her. Apologise maybe she will come back to you and everything will be fine again"Joel said

"I don't think she will ever forgive me. I didn't even try apologizing then I felt like I have Sofia who loves me a lot,she never reject having sex with me but I was wrong,I didn't know she was using all that to get what she wants"Fred said and Joel snickered

"Try it out. Talk to her and see,she might forgive you. I won't lie Fred what you did was wrong, very wrong. You can't start doing such things to a woman you want to spend the rest of your life with"

"I heard you. I'm now a change man, I learnt my lesson bitterly"

Fred was busy remembering the first time he had conversations about Lola with Joel and how he acted as a good friend. Unknown to him he was going behind his back snatching his woman away from him.

He arrived at Joel's house and met he wasn't at home. He left his house going straight to the hospital he works at, he arrived at the hospital and parked his car at the parking lot. He came out of the car angrily going to the receptionist arena

"Good morning sir! Please how can we help you?"the receptionist asked

"I'm looking for Doctor Ignatius Joel"Fred replied

"He is in the consultation room right now,do you have an appointment with him?"The receptionist asked

"No, tell him to come out I want to see him"Fred said angrily

"I'm sorry you can't just see a doctor without an appointment or emergency issues"the receptionist said

"This is an emergency! Tell the goddamn fool to come outside right now!"Fred yelled angrily

"Sir please keep your voice down. We have a lot of patients in the hospital"The receptionist said. Fred got angrier and hit his hand on the desk making a very loud sound

"Ask him to come out right now before I do something we will both regret"Fred said angrily

"Please sir you either walk out of here gently or I will call the security to drag you out"the receptionist said

"You bitch...."Fred said when his eyes landed on Joel who was coming out of a door,he was adjusting the stethoscope around his neck

"Fred"Joel said as soon as his eyes landed on Fred. He was surprised seeing him at the hospital. Fred went closer to him and landed an heavy blow on his face. Everyone that saw that gasp

"You betrayer! Fool! How can you do this to me Joel?! I thought we were brothers"Fred said angrily and went closer to land another heavy blow on his face but the security were faster and hold him down "I will destroy you I swear Joel I'm going to kill you"

"Fred can you just calm down and let's talk this out?"Joel asked and Fred fling his shoe at him, it hits his forehead. Joel groan rubbing his forehead

"You will never marry Lola not in my watch! If I can't marry her then no one will. I promise you no one will!"Fred said trying to release himself from the security hold so that he can deal with Joel. Joel didn't even make an attempt of fighting with him

"When you don't love her?"Joel asked tilting his head to a side.

"I'm getting tired of all this"Fred told Joel. Joel drop the decoder remote he was holding giving Fred his full attention

"Getting tired of what?"he asked and pick from the peanut at his side,chewing them slowly.

"Going after Lola. It feels even after everything I have done,she's not ready to change her mind"Fred said

"But you love her?"Joel asked

"I was infatuated by her face. I discovered I didn't love her when I met Sofia,it's all about the face but nowadays who cares about love when trying to settle down. My parents are on my neck asking me to bring a woman home, they always use that opportunity to tell me how I would have been married if not for my silly mistake, they always say I'm getting old whereas I'm just thirty three"Fred said and Joel nodded

"I don't know what to say anymore. If she doesn't want you back maybe it wasn't meant to happen"Joel said and Fred nodded

"It seems I have to give up"Fred said and Joel shrugged

"Is that the reason you went behind my back and start asking her out?! I told you how desperate I am to settle down. I swear I'm going to sue you for this"Fred shouted and Joel chuckled

"Sue me? We are in Nigeria for God's sake"Joel said "I'm not you Fred, I love Lola and I want to make her my wife, I don't ever plan on cheating on her or using her to satisfy my needs. She's not a toy and have the right to choose whatever she wants for herself. Do you think I will let the person I love go because of your selfish ambition? Please Fred let it go, you were the one that fucked up first"Joel said and turn around heading back to the consultation room. He suddenly stopped turning around

"Please escort him out of the building. He is disturbing the patients, we don't want more patients getting shocked"Joel said making Fred get angrier

"I will deal with you Joel! I swear with my life"Fred shouted

"You can try as much as you want"Joel said and walk away. The securities dragged Fred out of the building.

"Bianca what's wrong with you lately? You don't look good"Kenny asked

"Is it that obvious?"Bianca asked. Kenny is her best friend

"It is. Spill it baby girl"Kenny said and Bianca sighed

"My mind is telling me Daniel is cheating on me"Bianca said and Kenny gave her 'what the fuck' look "I swear Kenny. Daniel is not always like this"

"Daniel cheating? I don't know why I can't believe it, he never looks like the womanising type. Even though he looks so handsome he doesn't give girls much attention"Kenny said and Bianca shrugged

"I went to his house and he was busy muttering a name. Is it Mona? Abi yes! Monica"Bianca said

"This is serious. Do you know any Monica?"Kenny asked

"I don't know any Monica! I don't know what to do?!"Bianca said exhaustedly "I'm finally having my dream of getting married to him and now another person is trying to destroy my dream

"Calm down baby girl. We will find this Monica and warn her to stay clear away from Daniel"Kenny said and Bianca sighed

"Where am I going to find this girl?"Bianca asked

"You have to start stalking Daniel then. Don't worry nothing can happen, even if they like they should date Daniel must marry you except he wants his father to disown him"Kenny said and Bianca nodded

"Is true. He can't marry any other person apart from me but that doesn't mean I will let this go"Bianca said and Kenny nodded

"I'm with you on this one"
