In 3021, Ivy is a messenger, a usually poor class that are born with wings. The classes main role is to deliver mail and packages around the Kingdom of Camellia and to surrounding kingdoms. After the great financial fall of America in 2105, many wealthy countries came together to support the citizens left devastated and formed a new country, Camellia. Every generation, when the prince or princess turns 18, there is a competition to be entered into the 'Royal Race', an intense obstacle course throughout the kingdoms dangerous wooded mountains. The girls and boys who enter it get compensation for well over a month, the pay able to allow them to live lavishly for the time being. So, trying to feed her younger cousin when her uncle never does, she enters, not thinking she would be noticed by Prince Harvey during the race. How will she take being watched by the Royal Court and Harvey himself until the Picking?
