Retreats
When: Sometime in May
So far, I've had 2 retreats :)
Both were for churches, yes I go to 2 churches.
First Retreat:
We went somewhere fun, and I volunteered there. Good fun! We had an amazing time at the camp we went to, for sadly only 3 days.
There we did water balloon fights, played on trampolines. We did a lot of art and had tons of fun.
We got to go the beach on the 2nd day for free time. I went canoeing with my mom, it was harder because of the wind which made the waves bigger, and the other hard part was because of a boat nearby, it made even bigger waves.
I decided to go play v-ball with the adults. I was literally the youngest there, but to be fair, my church is mainly made up of kids 8 and under, and adults. I'm literally the only preteen there. I was on my dad's team (fun & embarrassing sometimes) We played for about an hour and every time I got the ball to serve with, I'd make it over the net except for 2 times.... I got distracted. I would always be told "Good job! Don't do it again." I got the joke. I liked it, what I can prove from that: I'm better than them all. Okay, no, probably not, but my point is that I'm good at playing volley-ball, beach volley-ball.
2nd Retreat:
One week later, I went on another church retreat. It was kids in grades 5&6. We went to our camp, once we got there, we figured out what cabin we were to be in. I was in Nuthatch (the image above is a Red-Breasted Nuthatch)
On the first night, we got to do chapel, bonfire, and it was crazy fun. We even had a y-game.
The y-game we did was Capture The King. Which is capture the flag, but you capture the king, which is a person. You have to find out who they are too. I got caught only once so yea :)
For the bonfire, we didn't do much, but I and my cabin did see "cotton candy clouds"
We had smores and hot dogs for the midnight snack, but I didn't eat the hot dogs. At the chapel, we sang so many songs, most people danced around, they had fun and the chapel shook as they jumped around.
Then we went to sleep, getting ready for the next day.
On the second day, we had breakfast and then went to some activities. They weren't the most fun, the ones after lunch was the best. We started with archery. I ALMOST GOT A BULLSEYE! you know how there are different colored rings? and inside those rings are more rings? Well, I WAS ONE RING AWAY FROM THE MIDDLE, not color, but literally a small ring.
Then we went to do Gaga Ball. For those of you who don't know, you go into a pit, and try to get people out by hitting them under the knees. We played, it was great! Most girls honestly didn't try, and what was unfair, was that the boys would be like "Get The Girls Out" but it isn't fair because some of us actually tried. Like me and a good friend of mine.
We then had lunch, after was free time, I went to play Gaga Ball the whole time. I almost won! Then the bell rang which meant: time to go and meet up with everyone.
Our next activity: Labrinth. It was okay, but then my friend had an allergic reaction to some smoke from the bonfire nearby, so we had to move away.
Then we did rock climbing... It was okay. I personally didn't make it to the top, I never do. It was fun though. Soon after we had to go for dinner. We ate and then got ready for another y-game. This time, it was leaders against kids. We played a game where you had to get something from a certain point to the base. I didn't get any back, but I only got tagged one time. I even outran most of the leaders, and they aren't old ones.
We had our chapel, it was good. I loved singing then. We then had our night snack. Nachos, they were delicious.
I and my cabin finally finished, and we went back to the Nuthatch cabin. We sang with one of the cabin leaders playing the guitar :) we sang "My Lighthouse" and "Riptide" It was fun. Then we decided to go outisde and perform. It was beautiful.

That night, we were supposed to sleep at 10:30, but we didn't. We slept at 11:45 instead. We got face masks, it made my face soft :) we also went to play carpet ball, even though it was late that night. We sometimes saw one of the cabin leaders come out, he would shine his light in our eyes.
We also sat in the grass, looking at the beautiful night sky. I saw the little and big dipper too. The sky was an ombre of blue, and there is no way I wouldn't stop looking.
We then got told to sleep, so we did. I fell asleep instantly.
The next morning, all we really did was pack up.
So ya!
Hope you enjoyed this!
