This is gonna get real ranty real fast.

Okay, I posted a thing about how I felt about Suicide Squad, which is not a good feeling by the way. Also:

Because I did not, and you are not gonna like what I have to say. 

There are so many problems, I'm not really sure to start. 

I'll start with me. I LOVE the DC universe, I think it creates more in depth and interesting characters with more of an actual purpose than a lot of its' competitors. If you could not tell, I LOVE Batman comics, movies, cartoons, I still watch old episodes of Batman: The Animated Series (which aired in the early fucking 90s before I was born!). Most of all, I LOVE Harley Quinn. My name on here, Harley, is not my real name, it's a nickname a friend from school gave me because I talked about Harley Quinn so much. I love her character, her personality, her original backstory (not the New 52 backstory). I know the character inside and out, if you quizzed me I would get every question right. If I ever met Arleen Sorkin (the ORIGINAL voice and inspiration of Harley Quinn), I would probably cry. In addition to loving Harley, I love everything she's a part of, which includes when she was added to the Suicide Squad in Vol. 4, and kept on the roster for the Suicide Squad reboot (New Suicide Squad) in 2014. I admit, that I didn't really get into Suicide Squad until I saw Harley was added, but once I did I loved it, I read through the first three volumes and I thought they were great. So, you can imagine my excitement when a Suicide Squad movie is announced, and Harley Quinn is going to be in it, her first time in a movie ever. Then, imagine my extreme disappointment when I saw the trailer. I hated the look of Jared Leto's Joker, I hated how Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn sounded and looked, and thought the music was fucking stupid. Let me say, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are both good actors, Jared Leto's won an Oscar (excellence in film award) for God's sake. But I don't think they were right for the cast in this movie. 

I'm also going to address another issue that I see a lot, which is Jared Leto not being in the movie that much. If you're a fan of the Suicide Squad, you understand, but if you've never read any part of it you were confused. This was one part that I felt was accurately portrayed, is that Joker's only purpose in relation to the Suicide Squad was to be a part of Harley's backstory and occasionally be brought up in relation to Harley, but he was never a main feature in the Squad. He's not the main villain in the movie either. I think maybe he was in it too much, in fact, considering how many people were saying this felt more like a Harley/Joker movie than a Suicide Squad movie. 

Obviously, being a true Harley Quinn fan, I have so many problems with the way she was portrayed in this movie. Harley Quinn is a smart, calculating, criminally insane, emotionally damaged, psychopath, but that was not how she was played in this movie. In this movie: she was used as eye-candy, she was dumbed down, Margot Robbie said that Harley was dressed the way she was because she wanted guys to look at her, which is untrue because the only guy Harley ever wants looking at her is the Joker. Also the relationship between Harley and Joker was not portrayed well. The Joker is verbally, and Physically abusive to Harley, he doesn't love her and he pretty much just manipulates her feelings to get her to do things for him, and it was like they were afraid to portray that in the movie, so they just made them an actual loving couple, which they are not. I hated that they used the New 52 backstory instead of Harley's original backstory, I hated that Harley was dressed so slutty, and I was disappointed that Margot Robbie couldn't do Harley's original New York accent, even though she did a New York accent perfectly in Wolf Of Wall Street.

Another problem I had was that some of the characters weren't even part of the New Suicide Squad. Namely: Rick Flag, Katana, Killer Croc, El Diablo, and Slipknot. I was confused on why these characters were in the film when they're not part of the current Suicide Squad. 

Those are just my feelings and thoughts and opinions on Suicide Squad. Don't let that discourage you from seeing it if you really want to, maybe you'll like it more than me? And please don't attack me for my opinions, they're just opinions, and I'm aloud to have them just like everyone else. - H
