Day In And Day Out

"What do you want?" J Hope gruffly asks them as he points them to the living room.

Jin smiles brightly, ignoring his tone of voice, "Finally being off the tour, we thought we would come over to celebrate with you and . . . " Jin starts smiling as he looks down the hallway, "Jeni."

J Hope sighs frustrated, "I would rather . . ." he pauses as he sees you coming down the hall at the same time as the others.

"Hi, guys!" You smile as you give each one a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Jungkook points at his other cheek, wanting you to kiss that one also. Laughing at his sweet maknae ways, you kiss both cheeks.

"It's good to have you all back home again." Your eyes shine with happiness that they are back safely.

Jae mumbles under his breath, "Yeah, it'd be good if they were at their own homes."

You swat his backside and whisper, "Hush." He rolls his eyes and follows them to the living room.

You realize Jungkook is holding food containers. "Oh, is that some of Jin's cooking? Awesome. I have missed your cooking, Jin." Smiling at him, you lead him and the others into the kitchen. Jae follows behind with a frown on his face.

The others help Jungkook set all the food out on the counter. You get plates and eating utensils out.

You hand them to Jae, "Baby, can you put these on the table for me? I will bring the glasses and napkins." He takes them from you without a word or a smile and heads to the dining room. You softly sigh and follow him.

He stands there staring at the table. You set the glasses around the table, ending up next to him. He still hasn't moved.

"Baby. . . . ?" you ask, trying to distract him from his thoughts.

He puts the stack of plates and utensils on the table and suddenly turns to you. In a cold hard voice that would even make Yoongi tremble, he says, "I spent a year on tour, day in and day out, every single damn day with them. I just want you!"

You are about to speak when the others come in, talking and laughing. You look away from Jae just as he rolls his eyes.

Through dinner, he rarely said anything. You squeeze his thigh and lean in to whisper, "Stop being a gloomy guss." He frowns, so you pout, "Please, for me? I know you love them." He nods.

Jungkook pushes his empty plate away suggesting, "Let's do karaoke?" He smiles excitedly.

J Hope gruffly says, "Don't you think we need a break from singing maknae? We spent a year on tour singing on stage and at too many damn variety and talk shows, not to mention all the hours practicing. Give it a break will you!?"

Jimin comes behind J Hope and gives him a back hug, "We love singing. That's why we do it right, hyung?"

J Hope turns pushing him off, "Get off me!" he shouts.

You gasp, "Jae! What are you doing?"

Jimin's eyes fill with hurt as Taehyung helps him off the floor.

"What did you do that for hyung?" asks Taehyung.

J Hope gets up and leaves the table. You start to go after him, but you know he will soon realize he was wrong and come back.

Jin says, "I see we have a storm front moving in." The others nervously laugh.

With a frown on his face, Tae says, "Yeah."

Taehyung helps Jimin to his seat and hugs him before he sits.

"You know he isn't mad at you, Jiminah. I think he just needs more sleep. He must still be suffering from jet lag."

Jimin nods, "Yeah, I know."

"I'm sorry, Jimin, guys." You look around at them sadly.

Jimin releases a sigh as he tells you, "Please don't feel bad. We're not strangers to his stormy side. It takes both sun and rain to make a rainbow."

Jungkook adds, "There's no real hurt meant behind it."

Tae says, "But sometimes it still hurts, the words still hurt."

Jimin places his hand on Tae's shoulder in understanding.

Yoongi says, "He loves us, and most times, there is no lightning behind his thunder." He gets up to refill his whiskey tumbler.

They are still sitting around the table, drinking, except for Jin. He had driven everyone but Yoongi. Jin, ever cautious, wouldn't drink if he was driving. Yoongi had come in his car, feeling a little need for alone time himself.

Suddenly, the conversations stop as they hear music from the karaoke machine. They all turn their heads in that direction when J Hope walks back into the dining room.

"Who wants to sing?" he asks, then points at them with a wary smile, "But none of our songs."

He thought doing karaoke like they wanted was a small way to let them know he was sorry.
