Devin stepped on it, we must've been going 100 miles per hour. I stared at the speedometer's numbers increasing two miles every second. He sped down the highways, turning into every exit he saw. I gripped my seat and tightly closed my eyes, preparing for impact that no doubt would kill us both.

"Devin, please!" I screamed. "You're scaring me more than Elizabeth did!" I checked to see if Elizabeth was on our heels, or anyone else, like other drivers, police cars, or her little minions. But the highway behind us was empty, abandoned more like it. "She's gone now."

"Are you sure?" He looked at me with his gigantic, frightened oceans. Sweat made his jet black hair stick to his forehead, and he was shaking. The fearless, arrogant, tough Devin I once knew was now a helpless coward. He checked behind him to see if I was telling the truth. Now that he saw what Elizabeth was truly capable of, I'm ninety nine percent sure he's not going to think childishly anymore.

"Positive. Now please, slow down or stop the car."

Devin sighed and rolled the car to a stop that took about 3 minutes.

He panted, gripping onto the steering wheel and leaning over it. "How, the hell, did she, do that?!" He panted out. "How did she find us?! How did she flip over those cars? How did she van-"

"She's a witch, for crying out loud! Do you get it now, Devin?! You can't fool her. You can't talk your way out of anything with her. You can't kill her. She has much more knowledge than you and power. Trying to kill her won't work, it's just going to be another failed mission of yours. And even if it did by any miraclous chance, her minions or God knows who else will surely come after you."

Devin gave me a skeptical look and said, "Devil knows who else!"

I slapped my hand onto my face and let it slide down slowly. "You know what Devin, can we just go home now please?"

"Yeah, yeah, calm your tits," he muttered while turning the car around and driving back home.

"Mufusa, I just don't know what to do anymore. I tried everything, he tried everything, and soon... It's gonna be too late," I looked out my window at the starry night, the moon illumanting my room with a white glow. "Has this happened before? Do you know if she's really serious?"

"Principessa, if Elizabeth has the power to turn Devin attractive, what makes you think she can't turn him back to the way he was? Let alone that she can vanish into thin air and create magical potion stickers. Very powerful woman."

"I'm scared, Fusa. I could give a lesser f*ck if she was going to only curse Devin, but she's cursing me too! I was supposed to bring Devin to her, and I failed! Tommorow is going to be the day. I don't know what time, but I know that the 48 hours will be up soon."

"I'm so sorry Elena. My deepest sorrows to you. I don't have any more alternatives. It is a shame you were involved in this," his sigh I could feel in my ear. "Say what, how about we catch pizza tomorrow to make you feel better? I heard you love snacks and pizza," he chuckled and I cracked a smile.

"That sounds great, thank you Mufusa. I really do appreciate it-" I heard a knock at my door. "I'll call you back tomorrow, alright?" I said as I walked towards my door and hung up.

"Well surprise, surprise," I opened my door to a messy Devin. He looked like he had been crying. "Come on in," I patted his shoulder and shut the door behind him. He sat on my bed and put his face in his hands and I sat next to him, rubbing his back.

"Elena, I-"

"I already know Devin. You're not the only one stressing out. Did you forget that she's cursing me too?"

He ran his fingers throughout his hair. "I'm sorry I put you through this. That you're involved with my personal life and problems. Before my mom and I moved in, you were just a lonely nerd."

I glared at him. "But now, I f*cked it all up for ya'. Cazzo!" He pounded his fists into my bed. "And now, my life is gonna be f*cked up too!"

"Dev, I'm not trying to sound like an a$$hole but, all you had to do was return to her so she could give you a brand new sticker. But you thought you could outsmart her, you didn't want to go. Why did you not, so badly?"

"I know she wouldn't give me a new one. This sticker wasn't free, conigiletta. Not everything in life is free, it came with a price."

"What did you have to give?"

"I didn't have to give anything, my parents did. And they gave her," he seriously looked into my eyes. "Their blood. Lots of it."

I started giggling. He can not be serious. "Aww come on Devin, it's just blood."

"Did you not hear the last part?! LOTS OF BLOOD! And it's not like she took it painlessly. She's a vampire too, for devil's sake. She bit the sh*t outta their necks, and drank it 'till they almost passed out. And I'm not going through that, nope."

I hugged him and buried my face into his chest. "I'm sorry that I was even thinking about kidnapping you and bringing you to her like she wanted me to do. I'm so sorry."

And for once, he hugged me back. "I'm sorry for even putting you through this." Shockingly, he then picked me up and tucked me into my bed. He then climbed into the other side of my bed and scooted next to me. Devin wrapped his arms around me, and I wrapped my arms around him. We stayed that way until we fell asleep.

The morning sun warmed my eyelids and beneath them radiated a glowly orange. I awoke to birds chirping and I had a great feeling that today was gonna be an amazing day. Devin was next to me facing the other side. I slightly shook him and sung, "Good morning sleepy head!"

Devin smiled and rolled over, slowly blinking his eyes open. But when he finally fully opened his eyes, and I took a look at his face, we both screamed bloody murder.
