I pulled the gear shift to reverse and lightly pushed my foot against the gas pedal when a knock on my window made me jump in my seat.

"Ahh!" I screamed. I whipped my head over to a dirty-blonde teen boy who looked almost as frightened as me.

"Hey! Hey! Calm down, it's okay." I heard him muffle. His voice was deep. I rolled down my window and his green eyes met mines. He put his arm on the window ledge and smiled at me nervously. "I'm sorry for frightening you more than you already were."

"How do you know I'm afraid? Who are you?"

"Just a boy who's trying to help a pretty little bunny who looks like she's going to shīt herself. Why are you so nervous?"

"I-... well, my stepbrother and his friend who said I shouldn't talk to strangers here... have gotten drunk on me. So I have to drive us home when I uh... Don't necessarily have a lot of knowledge about driving. I'm tired of meeting new people today."

"Sweetie, I don't have to be a stranger. Call me a friend. And I am here to help and I know how to drive."

"Great!" I opened the drivers door, whacking him in his stomach. He fake smiled while wincing, stumbling back. I got out and pointed to the driver's wheel. "Please drive."

"You didn't accept my friend request."

"Friend request accepted," I pushed him in. "Now please. It's been a long night. I want to go to sleep."

"Dang girl, okay," I slammed his door and dragged Mufusa out of the passenger's seat. I threw him into the backseat with his drunk buddy. I sat down in the passenger's seat and strapped myself in.

He looked over to me nervously. "Where to?"

I shrugged.

He shrugged as well, mocking me. "So you're telling me... You don't know how to drive, and you were going to drive to no where?"

"Basically."

"Oh honey, you are a damn mess."

"Yeah, yeah. I know," I lifted up my foot, trying to take off my heel.

"What are you doing?!"

"This," I finished unstrapping the shoe and I threw it at Devin.

"OW! ELeNa!"

"Devin. Address."

"In. Phone." He threw his iPhone at me. I caught it in my hands. "One two three four."

"Seriously?!"

I put in the password and the phone unlocked. It's pretty sad how he doesn't care about anything but sleep. I can't believe he just gave me his phone, including his password. I can't believe he's allowing this friend of mine to be in the car and drive. Maybe he doesn't know.

I checked in his memo pad and I found the address to our house. I told my friend the address and he started driving. While Devin and Mufusa were passed out snoring, I became bored and got curious about my new friend.

"What is your name?"

He seemed to take a moment longer than necessary to answer. But I can understand because he was paying attention to the road.

"Jake. You don't have to tell me yours though, I discovered your name when your buddy back there Devin screamed your name when you hit him with your shoe, Elena."

"Oh yes, he is my idiot stepbrother."

"How old is he?"

"Seventeen."

"And you're? Let me guess," his grassy eyes matched with my oceans. He flashed a pearly smile. "Sixteen."

"Correct. How'd you know?" I raised an eyebrow. "Have you been stalking me?"

"Haha, no. You just have that young- teen look."

"You mean I have an innocent look. I heard that way too many times. I hate looking helpless," I tried to guess his age. "You're eighteen."

He made a buzzer noise. "No, twenty. No one can guess anything better than me, but you were pretty close."

"So you are an adult."

"Yes."

I bit my lip in worry. Well damn... This is like finding out your crush is gay if you are straight. I thought he was pretty cute. And he was flirting with me? He isn't that much older. I mean it isn't bad if we have an interest in each other... Right?

"So do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, single Pringle for life! Heh. Do you have a girlfriend?"

"Nope. Single Pringle team!" He gestured for a high five and like the awkward dumb person I am...

High fived the air.

He chuckled while grabbing my hand that was still frozen in the air. And I thought I was going to kill us all.

He high fived it himself. "A real damn mess," he smirked and shook his head.

I blushed, doing the 'see no evil monkey emoji'. This boy, or should I say man, is making me twice as awkward than I usually am. What is wrong with me? Why am I having such feelings for this stranger so suddenly? This is weird...

We came to a stop and I zoned out of my thoughts. We were not at my house...

But we were at an apartment building.

I sat up in my seat and looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Where are we?" I questioned. "I thought we were going to my place?!"

Jake had a cocky smile with shadows fallen over his face. "Oh no honey, I meant to tell you... We are going to my place."

"But why? I don't want to, I'm so exhausted. My stepbrother, his friend, and I need to go home immediately. You know what, I'm sure the police could take us home. Oh shīt, I don't have a phone. You know what I'll just walk," I started unbuckling my seatbelt.

"Woah, woah there! Chill girl," he put his arm against my chest. "Sit back and relax, and let me help you." He placed his sort of cold hand on my thigh, caressing it. I shivered and wiggled in my seat, becoming a little sexually uncomfortable.

"Are you another vampire? Another witch? A minion of Elizabeth?" I moved his hand off of my leg.

"What?!" He chuckled heartily. "Don't be crazy. I don't know this Elizabeth of whom you are mentioning. I want to show you something. Come along with me," he opened his car door.

I rolled my eyes and opened my car door as well. He came to my side and took my hand, leading me to the apartments. Here goes another adventure. Why am I not kicking his balls and running away? Why do I have to be a helpless, yet stupid, bunny and look innocent? Surely I'm walking right into trouble. Is this a nightmare? I just want to go to sleep! I want this to be over.

But I have a feeling this is only the beginning.
