Light's POV

Y/n and I walked to the tennis court and waited for Ryuga. "So, L took the name of the idol Hideki Ryuga... to see whether or not you would try to kill him using that name!" Y/n concluded. I nodded. "I believe so."

When he arrived, he said, "Hello Yagami-kun. I see you brought a friend. What is your name?" he asked. "I'm y/n," Y/n said and shook his hand, "Hideki Ryuga, was it? Like the idol?" she asked. He nodded. "Can I speak to Light for a second?" she said. I was confused. Ryuga looked at me questioningly. I shrugged. "Of course," he answered. Y/n pulled me over. "You expect me to pretend to love him?! Look at him! He looks like he hasn't slept in years! His hair is a complete mess! He doesn't look like he cares what he's wearing! And his eyes... they're soulless. They have terrible bags. They are the eyes of someone who cannot love. I cannot pretend to love him!" she whisper-yelled to me. "Y/n..." I said. "What?" she snapped. "Shut up." She looked at me, surprised. "Fine. But this plan will fail, Kira," she glared at me and let me play tennis.

Your POV

Terrible clothes. Terrible eyes. Terrible hair. Terribly cute? WHAT?! My mind told me. It's like you told Light! You can't pretend to love him. How can you think he's cute?! My head and my heart were at war with each other. You've only just met him today! How could you be in love with him?! Love at first sight is a dangerous and awful thing, you know! Logic tore at my insides. I hardly paid attention to the large crowd that appeared. Once I came back to reality, I noticed that it was a pretty intense match. I decided to watch closely on how they paid attention to the swerves and quick moves of their opponent.

Eventually, Light won 6 games to 4. "Ryuga wanted to talk to me privately about the Kira case. I asked if it was okay for you to come along and he said sure. Wanna come?" Light asked me. I shrugged and said, "Why not?" The three of us met up at a cafe. Light and L talked about the Kira case. Since I wasn't a suspect, Ryuga didn't talk to me as much, but he did ask me questions about what I thought on Kira. I hardly noticed Ryuk listening to the conversation and continually laughing his head off.

Suddenly, both Ryuga's and Light's phone rang. His father had a heart attack... it couldn't have been Kira, Light was busy right here, and he currently didn't have any reason to kill his father... Either he had a natural heart attack... or Kira has for the first time, failed to kill somebody... I can't tie everything to Kira...but if this WAS Light... why would he do this...?
