🔷 20 - Misunderstanding 🔷

[Air's POV]

This day couldn't get any better. I had fun, really. I enjoyed every single moment I spent with my close friends. And oh, did I ever mentioned that Petir coincidentally appeared like Cahaya out of nowhere as well?

When it comes to them, I never get bored. Ever. I just feel so comfortable when I'm around them.

I mean before, I didn't actually knew that we'll get along so well. Being friends with a nerdy mad scientist, and a mysterious yet petrifying boy? Like, who would've thought that I'll become friends with them, though I'm lazy and a sleepyhead?

I secretly laughed at that memory. Even though it was actually surprising and unexpected to be honest, it still makes me smile whenever I remember that funny moment. Yeah, I feel happy whenever I flashed back to those precious times.

But sometimes, I have to focus on the present too, right?

Currently, we spent the whole day, talking, bonding and laughing with one another. I love this kind of hangout; just spending my time with my closest friends. Heh, these boys just gives me thrill everytime.

Not for long, we also have to part ways since, it's time for us to go back home. But though, I still had fun, thanks to my best friends whom I now see them as my brothers.

"It's getting late. I have to go now! Bye!" Petir said, smiling while bidding his farewells to us.

"Alright, bro! I'll see you tomorrow at school!" Cahaya yelled, as he gave our lightning elemental friend a thumbs up.

"Right!" Petir shouted back, grinning as he started walking, making his way back home.

"Well, bye Air!" Cahaya said to me, waving his hand at me before walking his way home as well.

I was then left alone, so I also made my way back home before the sun sets.

As I walked towards my said destination, I started remembering what had happened earlier. This day went smoothly. Just, enjoying my time with my best friends.

I think that's all I did today, right? Just hanging around with my friends, right? Suddenly, one question came into my mind.

What did I do before I hang out with
my friends?

That's when, I realized something. Ah, crap. Stupid of me, I forgot about my little brother.

I internally groaned in frustration as I went back, going to the park since I know that's where I last saw my young brother. Urgh, I hate this so much.

When I almost reached the park, I spotted two, familiar figures from a distance, which surprised me since I'd recognised them already. In no time, I approached those two people, who were currently on the ground. Probably they accidentally bumped at each other and fell down.

"Cahaya? Petir?" I asked, my brows furrowed in confusion as I stared at the said people.

"What the?! Air!?" Cahaya glanced at me, seemed to be shock when he saw me appeared out of nowhere.

"What are you two doing here?" Petir asked as he stood up from the ground, dusting off some dirt on his clothes.

"I'm looking for my younger brother." Cahaya replied, also getting up from the ground and dusted some particles off his shirt.

"Same here." I immediately told them, with my lips pursing. Wait, is this another coincidence? Our little brothers were lost as well at the same time?

"Strange, I'm also finding my little brother too..." My yellow capped friend stated, his face frowning.

"Then, let's look for them together!" I suggested, which made my two friends nodded in agreement and started searching for our missing brothers.

It's been almost an hour ever since me and my friends searched for our younger brothers. Argh, I just wanna go home 'cause I'm actually tired right now. But that little brother of mine just disappeared out of nowhere, and of course, I'll get the blame when Mom finds out Angin is missing.

Cahaya groaned in annoyance, glancing around his surroundings. "Where did that freaking brat go?" I heard him muttered, then grunts in frustration.

I deeply sighed as I was too, irritated by the fact that my little brother is nowhere to be found. "That annoying Angin kept insisting me to play outside our house even though we can even play inside." I grumbled, both my hands starts forming into fists.

Not for long, we saw something from a distance, making us jogged towards that direction. Later on, we found out that it was our little brothers, and they were with someone. That's when we realized, it's that student we bullied before.

"There you are!" Cahaya exclaimed, his breath slightly panting.

I saw the four of them quickly released from the hug and slowly glanced towards our direction. Both me, Petir and Cahaya then turned towards the boy with a brown cap, giving him an intimidating glare afterwards.

So, you're the one who stole our little brothers from us?

"You!?" My light elemental friend exclaimed as he pointed his index finger directly at Tanah. "How dare you snatched our little brothers from us, you earth-head!" He yelled furiously, making Tanah startled and looked at us with a shocked look plastered on his face.

"No! He didn't! He saved us-" Cahaya's little brother named Api, tried to reason out but Cahaya only cut him off, in a harsh way.

"Shut up, you flamehead!" He exclaimed, as he turned his head back to Tanah once again.

The three of us then took our little brother's away from Tanah, getting them in a different way. After that, we cracked our knuckles, facing the poor student while we planned what to do with him.

"Let's punish him?" Cahaya suggested, making both me and Petir grinned evilly from his response.

Oh, Tanah... You're going to regret what you've done.

[Angin's POV]

My heart started pounding hardly on my chest. Fear raised up inside me when I witnessed our big brothers just, all of the sudden, started hurting our new big brother, Tanah.

I saw how big brother Tanah struggled from what they're doing to him, in which it pains me to me to see him hurt like this. I wanted to do something. I wanted to stop them. But, why aren't my feet cooperating with me?

My eyes widened when I heard Tanah screamed in agony. Tears started forming from my eyes as I stood rooted on the ground, staring at his current state right now. I can't bear seeing him like this.

"Stop hurting him! Please!" I cried, trying to plead for them to stop but they just ignored me.

How could they do this to him...? He didn't do anything wrong... He just saved us from the greedy kidnappers earlier.

He didn't deserve this kind of treatment. I hate this! I hate seeing people getting hurt! I hate it when innocent people get the blames! I hate it when people just misunderstands them! I hate this cruel world!

But, why are you one of them, big brother...?

One of my big brother's friends then walked towards big brother Tanah and set his foot down on top of his chest, making the latter grunted in pain. He moved his head closer to him and whispered something inaudible for us to hear. After that, he removed his foot off big brother Tanah's chest and left him lying down on the ground unconsciously.

I then stared at Tanah, tears started streaming down my face as I saw his current condition. I blamed myself for it, I failed to protect him. I failed to protect the ones I cared about. This is all my fault.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered softly, with a sad tone in my voice. Big brother Tanah curved a small, but gentle smile to us, reassuring us that he'll be fine. But no, I know he's in pain. I know that he's suffering. I wanted to help him so badly.

But my big brother is preventing me from doing so...

"So," The boy wearing a white cap said, dusting off his hands and looked at his friends. "I'll see you guys tomorrow?" He asked, earning a slight nod from my big brother and his other friend.

"Okay then." He then grabbed my close friend, Api by the ear, making him shrieked in pain.

I fiercely frowned from the action of Api's big brother. Hey! Don't be so ruthless to my best friend!

"We'll be going now. Bye!" My big brother's friend in white, said then started making their way back home, with my poor best friend getting dragged by him on the ear.

"We're going now too," My older brother stated. Suddenly, he grasped the hood from my jacket, causing me to struggle to get up from my feet. Not for long, we started walking home, with my big brother dragging me by my hoodie.

"Bye."
