Crash

I woke up to the sounds of screaming and crying.

There was a mask thingy over my face and I was wearing the life jacket. The plane aisle lights were blinking. I looked up at my mom and she was breathing hurriedly into the mask.

"Good you're awake", she said in a muffled voice because of the mask so she sounded like Darth Vader 'I am your father!'

"Mom, what's going on?" I asked in an equally muffled voice.

"Well-"

She was cut short by the pilot running in.

"The plane is about to crash into the sea", he said in a surprisingly soft but stern tone. "There will be six rafts each waiting at the exit of the plane. Save yourselves"

I looked out the window and I saw the problem. We were falling downwards and the wing was on fire leaving a smoke trail behind. How did that happen?

"Go!" my mum practically yelled jerking me out of my thoughts. "Save yourself!"

I ran to the nearest exit and looked down below. The view was amazing! The water was sky blue and it was still, looking peaceful. It would've been the best experience ever if I wasn't in such a tragic situation. Once again I was disturbed from my thoughts by my mum pushing me off the plane with the raft trailing after me.

"Mom!" I screamed.

"Don't worry honey we're right behind you."

"What did you do that for? You just wasted a raft!" the pilot yelled but before my mom could reply and start an argument, the plane blew up, happening in slow motion to me.

I was far away from the plane by now so the explosion didn't affect me.

I watched as pieces of the plane fell into the water, disturbing its peaceful look making it rippled and leaving a trail of smoke on the surface, polluting the whole sea while the wind whistled in my ears till I fell in the water too.

Luckily, I was wearing the vest so I just floated on the surface. Everything that just happened played in my mind over and over again like a broken record. Then the situation sank in and I screamed at the top of my lungs "Mom! Dad!" though it was pretty useless since they were probably dead now.

It felt awkward floating in the cold, salty ocean and I was worried about a shark coming and mistaking me as a delicious fish meal.

As if on cue, the raft came and hit the back of my head. I climbed onto it and shivered helplessly, crying. I was wet, cold and everyone and everything I knew was gone. My parents and probably the rest of the crew were dead. I was the only one who survived without a scratch and maybe I might die at sea too.

The sun was beginning to rise up, making the ocean have a calm texture other than the smoke trail on the surface.

I didn't know how far we travelled but I knew I was going to be trapped at sea for a long time considering the fact there was no land in sight. It was just me, the raft and the whole freakin ocean.

I guess I was right when I had that feeling I won't see Tony again.
