As the Raid was in full swing, the Sky Knights swarmed the Shie Hassaikai Compound. While the team of Todoroki, Ochaco, Tsuyu and Nejire secured the entrance of the compound, they entered the compound and quickly regrouped with Tamaki. 

Todoroki: We've secured the entrance! The enemy is down! 

Tamaki: Good job. With luck we should be able to....

Suddenly, the Sky Knights were ambushed by Yu Hojo, Toya Setsuno, and Soramitsu Tabe. 

Setsuno: Life's full of surprises, huh? 

Tabe: Hungry....so hungry....

As the Sky Knights prepared for battle, Tamaki stepped forward. 

Tamaki: Go on ahead. I'll handle this. 

Nejire: We're not letting you....

Tamaki: Mirio's going to need your help with Overhaul! Between the man outside and these three, that's half of the Eight Expendables, meaning the other half are still out there. Mirio and Midoriya are going to need a clear path to Overhaul. 

At this point, Tamaki made it clear that he was going to stay and fight despite being outnumbered. While she didn't want to leave her friend to fight alone, Nejire knew he was right. 

Nejire: Just...be careful....

With that, Nejire and her team moved on ahead while Tamaki stayed behind. 

Hojo: That's pretty stupid facing us all by yourself like that. Do you really think you'll win? 

Tamaki: I won't know unless I try. 

Tamaki then activates a Crystal which summons three energy tentacles which binds the three criminals. As he attempts to know then out, Hojo breaks free and touches Tamaki's arm, causing Crystal shards to grow out of his arm. Tamaki quickly knocks him back with a kick to the face. At the same time, Sabe pounces on Tamaki and begins biting him. 

Tabe: Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! Eat! EAT!

During the struggle, Setsuno and Hojo attempt to finish Tamaki off, but the Red Eagle quickly gets free and falls back a short distance. Setsuno begins laughing. 

Setsuno: I'm surprised the Red Eagles are still running after what Carver did. 

Tamaki: We worked hard to undo the damage Carver did on the honor of the Red Eagles. 

Hojo: Honor? Don't be stupid. You had a traitor in your midst and you didn't do a damn thing. Do you really think the people of Atmos will ever trust the Red Eagles. 

Tamaki: You are quick to associate the Red Eagles with Carver's treachery. But when Carver betrayed us, he ceased to be a Red Eagle! The man leading us now....Mirio Togata....he embodies everything the Red Eagles stand for! And I'll gladly fight for my friend!

Tamaki then activates another Crystal which summons layers of shells for protection, including a mask over his face. Then he unleashes a massive tentacle attack that releases multiple giant tentacles that attack in a rotating wave. But during the attack, Tabe jumps on Tamaki's back.

Setsuno: Tabe! It's feeding time!

As Tabe began to bite through the shells protecting him, he manages to land a devastating injury on his face. Reeling from the blow, Tamaki tries to launch a counter attack, but Hojo begins slashing him with a Crystal Sword. 

Setsuno: Here's what you Sky Knights could never understand. Before Overhaul took us in, we were nothing. Less than nothing. But he gave us a purpose. Overhaul gave us a purpose! And to that end, we will die for him!

As the three members of the Eight Expendables prepared to finish off Tamaki, the Red Eagle stood up.

Tamaki: I might not understand your grief. Your rage. Everything that led you here... but I know all about solid bonds!! And my friends don't use each other... because friends don't eat friends!

With that. Tamaki found his strength. Using the power of his Crystal, Tamaki transforms his foot into a bird talon and cracks a piece of the floor out of place before flicking it into Setsuno's face. By blind the main point of cooperation, Tamaki takes back the advantage. When Hojo strikes him, he uses the crystals ingested from his wounds to block the blow. Tamaki enlarges his talon foot and takes hold of Hojo before extending his leg using tentacles. Tabe attempts to bite Tamaki but the Red Eagle slams Hojo in Tabe and slams all three of the them into the side of a wall. 

Tamaki: Despite what you've done, you won't die today. But you won't escape justice either. That's the difference between us. You fight for a man who's not worth fighting for. We Sky Knights fight for peace and justice. 

With the three members of the Eight Expendables neutralized, Tamaki takes a deep breath. He then falls on his back and looks to the wall. He then remembers a time he spoke with Mirio about when they first joined the Red Eagles in the wake of Carver's betrayal.

Tamaki(Past): Are you sure about this, Mirio? The people of Atmos have lost faith in the Red Eagles. 

Mirio(Past): I never said it was gonna be easy, Tamaki. Carver did serious damage to the people's trust in the Red Eagles. It may take time before we can earn their trust back. But I believe we can earn back that trust in time. We just have to give it our all. Even if it's not enough, at least we tried. 

Back in the present, a bruised and bloodied Tamaki smiled as Mirio's words rang truer than ever. In that moment, the Sky Knights were able to defeat four members of the Eight Expendables. But that battle wasn't over yet as the Raid on the Shie Hassaikai Compound continued.
