As the raid on the Shie Hassaikai Compound raged on, Midoriya raced to find Overhaul and Eri. It wasn't long before Mirio caught up with Midoriya.

Midoriya: Mirio! Are you okay?!

Mirio: I'll be fine, Midoriya! Let's get Eri!

With that, Midoriya and Mirio raced through the corridors of the Shie Hassaikai Compound. Eventually, they reached the main office where Overhaul was attempting to escape via a built in cave entrance with Eri. The two Sky Knights readied their weapons as they cornered Overhaul.

Mirio: Stop right there, Overhaul!

Midoriya: It's over, Overhaul. There's no escape! Let the girl go!

As Midoriya and Mirio cornered Overhaul, Hari Kurono stepped out of the shadows. After a tense standoff, Overhaul spoke.

Overhaul: What do you think you seek to accomplish? This attack is nothing more than a....mild inconvenience.

Midoriya: We know what you've been doing to Eri! We won't let you hurt her anymore!

Overhaul said nothing as he glared at Eri. The little girl turned away in fear as Overhaul turned his gaze back at the two Sky Knights ready to attack.

Overhaul: The last time we met, you turned a blind eye to the situation. It's not like the girl is hoping you'll save her.

Midoriya: We're here to save her!

Overhaul: It seems you two don't get the message. Well allow me to make it simple. To her, you're no heroes.

As Overhaul said this, Midoriya and Mirio gripped their weapons tightly. After a moment, Midoriya and Mirio rushed at Overhaul and Kurono. As the two were knocked back several feet, Mirio grabbed Eri.

Eri: Why...why are you two doing this? He'll...he'll kill you!

Midoriya: Because we made a promise. A promise that we would free you from this nightmare.

Mirio: And as long as we're standing, we're gonna make that dream come true!

It wasn't long before Overhaul and Kurono got up. Overhaul wiped the dust from his jacket. Overhaul groaned in disgust at this.

Overhaul: Disgusting. Come back now, Eri. Or they'll die. How many times must I say it? You were born to break people. Every move you make gets people killed! Your very existence is cursed! And now you've forced my hand!

Eri: No...no!

Midoriya: It's okay! You don't have to listen to him!

Mirio: How could you say that to your own daughter?!

Overhaul couldn't help but laugh at Mirio's statement.

Overhaul: Daughter? Oh right. That's what I told you. I have no children.

Overhaul then places his hands on the ground. Suddenly, the ground begins shaking as the entire floor crumbles. The floor is suddenly reformed into into a bed of spikes that collide into each other in an attempt to crush Midoriya, Mirio and Eri.

Midoriya: Is he...is he really trying to kill her?!

Mirio: Not if we have anything to say about that!

Overhaul: Breaking her won't slow me down in the slightest. If I can restore her quickly enough, she'll survive. Even if she's not back to normal, she's still useful. And she already knows that first hand.

As Overhaul said this, Midoriya and Mirio were horrified by this revelation. To hear that the experiments involving Eri went to that extent deeply horrified the two Sky Knights. This only inspired the two Sky Knights to rescue Eri even more.

Overhaul: In a situation like this, I'm the only one who can heal Eri if she gets hurt. Do you really think you two can fight me while defending her like this?

During the onslaught, Kurono aims a blaster a Mirio and Eri. Midoriya rushes in and attacks Kurono. This leaves Mirio alone to defend Eri from Overhaul's attack. During the scuffle, Mirio wraps Eri in his cloak.

Eri: What...what are you doing?

Mirio: Don't worry, little Eri. This cloak of mine....will protect you!

Mirio puts Eri down and attacks Overhaul, knowing he'll divert his attack away from Eri. As Mirio closes the distance, Mirio lands a few hits with his Energy Blade. However, Overhaul shifts the ground, causing spikes to form around Mirio, impaling him in the stomach. Mirio coughs blood as he locks eyes with Overhaul.

Overhaul: Give it up, Sky Knight. You can't win.

Mirio: A Red Eagle....never gives up!

Overhaul: A Red Eagle huh? You're in that squadron as the traitor Carver? How does it feel to be in a squadron tainted by treason?

Mirio: I don't know what squadron you're talking about, but the Red Eagles don't give up on those who need it the most!

rate, Overhaul dissolves the glove over his left hand and trusts it at the Red Eagle leader. Mirio evades it and delivers another direct blow to Overhaul's face.

Mirio: I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU, KAI CHISAKI!

As Mirio called Overhaul by his name, Overhaul became enraged.

Overhaul: I abandoned that name long ago. Afflicted by that repulsive, diseased thinking of this new era. I'm....I'm here to cure people like you! And I will do it with Eri's help whether she likes it or not!

Meanwhile, Midoriya manages to take down Kurono. He turns to see Overhaul about to kill the injured Mirio. Without hesitation, Midoriya attacks Overhaul. This allows Mirio to slip away and move to Eri. As Midoriya readies his Energy Blade, Overhaul looks at Midoriya with fury in his eyes.

Overhaul: I'm a clean freak. When someone touches me... I lost it. I've never been pushed this far before...

In that moment, Midoriya would go face to face with Overhaul alone. But despite this, Midoriya would not back down. He would do everything in his power to defeat Overhaul so that Eri may finally be free of her torment.
