CHAPTER SIX

Kang Yeosang

I couldn't believe it.

I would never think Lia would do this. She's been keeping so many secrets from me, let alone Seonghwa. Questions filled in my mind; how's, when's, and why's. This is absurd. I felt betrayed for Seonghwa.

As soon as Jongho walked away from Lia's sight, she rode the car and started the engine. My eyes widen when I heard the sound of the engine running through my ears. She knows how to drive?!

I ran towards the car and grasp the car handle to open it. I instantly went inside the vehicle. I darted my gaze to Lia's face, who was startled at my sudden appearance.

"Yeosang? What are you doing here?" Her eyes are wide enough for me to tell that she was terrified.

I ignored her question and spat back, "What are you doing here?! It's almost eight and you are out here alone at night?" I sort of lied, but I was waiting for the right time to tell her.

"I had to do something." She said with gritted teeth and without eye contact.

"Do what?"

Lia rolled her eyes in irritation. "Something important. You don't need to know."

I scoffed in disbelief. Now she won't tell me what's going on with her?

"Then why were you with Choi Jongho? What is up with you guys?"

Lia looked at me with fear evident in her eyes. "Y-You saw that?" She stammered.

I nodded vigorously, "Yes, so tell me why were you with him? Why was he kissing your bump?"

I knew I was pressuring her to the max as I could see her hands trembling while gripping on the steering wheel. Lia opened her mouth but eventually closed again.

I sat still to face my direction to the road.

"Jongho is the father, isn't he?"

I cut to the chase.

"Which is the reason why you didn't want to keep the baby. Am I right?"

I said straightforwardly.

Silence took over us for a while. Lia did not answer to which I nodded. I was right all along. But I don't understand why she would do that? Was Seonghwa not enough for her?

I understood that she was scared of what everyone will think.

I usually side with her, but not this time. Lia may be my sister, but what she did was morally wrong. She cheated on Seonghwa. She betrayed almost all of us. She broke the promise between them.

"You have to tell Seonghwa." I advised her, which it should be the right thing to do.

Lia glared at me and scoffed at my words, "Are you serious?! I am never going to tell him."

"Lia, Seonghwa has every right to know. He's going to be your husband soon. You can't just lie to him that it's his baby!"

"I don't want him to find out so you better keep your mouth shut."

My jaw dropped at the way she spoke to me, "Don't speak to me in that tone, Kang Lia. You better tell him or else I will."

"You wouldn't dare." I could see tears forming in her eyes.

I inhaled sharply, slightly feeling bad for making her cry. "Tell him yourself before you regret it." I lowered down the tone of my voice.

"Get out."

I was surprised.

"What?"

"Get out of the fucking car." Lia repeated again.

"No." I sternly told her. "I am not leaving until you get your ass out of this car and tell Seonghwa the truth!"

"Don't tell me what to do. I know what I'm doing." Lia challenged back.

"Kang Lia!" I yelled her name in a scolding manner.

"Just get out of the car!"

"No, I will not!"

Lia chuckled in disbelief. "You're not getting out? Fine then." Lia darkly said and abruptly pressed the clutch, making the sound of the engine go louder than it usually is.

I suddenly panicked when she turn the wheel to the left and drove away from its initial place.

"Lia what the hell?! You're pregnant! You're not suppose to drive!" I warned her but her eyes are still focused on the road.

"Don't tell me what to do." Lia mumbles coldly and begun to fasten her pace.

"Lia, it's too dangerous!"

"I don't care!"

"Why are you so stubborn?!"

"You're the one being stubborn here! I told you to get out of the fucking car yet you didn't listen to me. I'm so stressed right now, Yeosang! Why can't you understand that?"

I sighed heavily as I placed my hand on my forehead in frustration.

"I'm trying to understand you, Lia. But what you're doing is wrong! You cheated on Seonghwa. You lied to him. You lied to us. And now you're being selfish? What would Seonghwa feel if he knew that the baby you are carrying isn't his?"

"That's why I'm going to abort the child!" Lia finally told her reason.

"That's not going to change anything!  You still cheated! He will eventually know, especially Jongho is Seonghwa's friend!" I argued again, making a point.

"Stop lecturing me! I know what I'm doing is wrong but this is the best option." She groans in frustration, her eyes still on the road.

"Lying to him is not the best option, Lia."

"I don't want to argue anymore. It seems like you wouldn't understand my feelings at all."

"I do understand but Seonghwa—"

"I'm also in pain too, Yeosang!"

Lia abruptly stopped the car, making me lose my balance but I still managed. I looked at Lia who finally let her tears out. She leaned her head on the steering wheel, trying to sob the pain away.

I felt guilty for yelling at her. I was too focused on Seonghwa's sake that I forgot about Lia's feelings. She was already distressed and I keep pushing her to tell Seonghwa the truth.

She needs time.

I sighed again after a good minute of silence. I was agitated but I need to ask another question that I'm dying to know.

"Have you ever loved Seonghwa?"

Lia slowly leaned her back to the seat and sadly smiled.

"I love him so much, Sangie. That's why I don't want to tell him because I know he will think differently of me."

My heart sank. I tried not to cry as I felt my throat soaring again. I can't help but feel hurt for Seonghwa.

"Then why did you cheat?" I asked again but I avoided eye contact this time.

I heard her sobbed, "It wasn't my intention. It was an accident."

I grew confused, "What do you mean it was your intention? You jumped on his dick on accident? That's bullshit." I deadpanned before looking at her.

She didn't answer this time but continued crying.

I sighed again before looking at the window, "If I was the one fated to marry Seonghwa then it wouldn't be this complicated."

Lia slowly glanced at me with her eyes widen and her mouth gaped as if she felt betrayed by my words.

Then I suddenly realized...

Shit.

"Do you like Seonghwa?" Lia stammered as she was still shocked at what I said a while ago.

I was tensed up at her question.

"L-Lia—"

"Answer me!" She shouted with pure anger written all over her face. "Do you like Seonghwa?" She repeated slowly.

"No." I tried to hide my feelings. I bit my lower lip, hoping for her to believe it.

"You're lying."

I gulped as I try to think of another topic, "It's getting late, we should go home." I changed the subject and I avoided my gazed at her.

"You're lying." Lia uttered again and I could see a tear strolling down from her eye.

She suddenly opened the door, got out of the car and slammed the door after. I panicked for a second before I went out to chase her.

"Lia!" I called her name but she stomped and started to walk faster.

"Don't follow me, you traitor!"

"Lia, I swear it's not what you think."

She turned her back for me to see her face full of tears.

"How could you!" She pointed her index finger on my chest. "I know you are gay but out of all people, it had to be Seonghwa, my fiancé?!"

"Lia, my feelings for Seonghwa doesn't matter anymore." I tried to reassure her and calm her down.

"No! It still matters! That's why I have been feeling you've despised me for a long time! Little did I know, you also like the person I love! I can't believe you, Yeosang! You truly disgust me!"

Tears are already visible in my eyes. Her words just shattered my heart into pieces. I expected her to react negatively but not to this extent. Everything was so unfair.

Lia gave me one last glare before walking farther away from me. I tried catching up but she would just jerk me away.

Then I sense a yellowish light hitting against my skin. I turned to the side to see a huge truck coming in our way. Lia was too caught up in her thoughts that she didn't notice the vehicle coming.

My heart started to palpitate in anxiousness.

No...

"Lia, watch out!"

I followed my instincts and immediately ran up to her, but before I could push her out of the way, a loud sound of a horn ran through my ears.

My hands were around her waist as we both pierced our gazes at the truck coming towards us.

The next thing I knew I was on the ground, painfully laying down while looking at the stars. Then my head turned to the side to see Lia lying down without any consciousness. Before I could comprehend what was happening, my vision started to blur.

All I could see now is a blurry image of Lia lifelessly on the ground and a woman with long, grey hair just standing in front of me.

The last thing I heard from the woman was...Park Seonghwa and Soulmate.
