CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Third Person's P.O.V.
Today is the day.
Kang Yeosang is finally going to marry Park Seonghwa.
The blonde boy looked at himself in the mirror. The white suit that he's wearing fits his petite body perfectly. The stylist applied makeup on his face that made him look like a prince today. He knew that marrying Seonghwa would be a dream come true, but it didn't change the fact that he's feeling anxious about his own wedding. He didn't know the reason why.
A loud vibration was heard around the room, Yeosang checked who it was to see Wooyoung on the line ID. He took a deep breath and answered it.
"Hey, Woo."
"Sangie, today is the day! How do you feel right now?"
"I feel like shitting bricks."
Wooyoung cackled at his best friend's reply. "Don't tell me you're nervous. C'mon, imagine it's just a normal ceremony. Nothing bad will happen."
The blonde rolled his eyes back to heaven, "How is that suppose to calm me down? I might embarrass myself there at the altar."
"Don't be too pessimistic, Sangie. Plus, isn't that the most exciting part?"
"Which one? Standing in front of the altar while I'm going to embarrass the fuck out of myself? Yeah, no shit. I'm not excited for that."
"No, you dumbass. Kissing Seonghwa is what I meant. You are going to have your first kiss with him!" Wooyoung exclaimed, "Finally after nineteen years. I can't believe my best friend is growing up now." The lavender-haired boy faked wiped his tears away dramatically.
Yeosang couldn't help but snicker at his remark. "I'm still older than you, Wooyoung."
"At least I have more experience." Wooyoung retorted with a victorious smirk.
"You're still a virgin." Yeosang spat back.
"Hey don't call me out like that you bitch." Wooyoung gasped and acted like he was hurt. "Anyway, what time is the wedding? And can't I really come?" Yeosang felt Wooyoung's pout on the other line.
Yeosang checked the clock that was hanging on the wall as it read 8:15 a.m.
"I have to be there in fifteen minutes. And no, as much as I want you to be my best man--"
"Bridesmaid, you mean?"
"Yah! I ain't no bride, but whatever you imply -- you really can't come, Woo. Seonghwa will kill me if you do." The blonde haired boy said. Wooyoung huffed in dissapointment.
Before Wooyoung could even react, Yeosang's mother knocked on the door and invited herself in. "Yeosang dear, are you ready -- oh wow sweetie, you look like a prince today." His mother complimented with a smile.
Yeosang quickly ended the call and reminded himself to text Wooyoung later. He kissed his mother's cheek and pulled away with a smile.
"Are you ready, Sangie?" His mother asked and Yeosang could help but sigh internally but nodded with a hint of nervousness evident on his face.
"Yes Mom." He replied and his mother wrapped her arm around Yeosang's before leaving the room.
---
Yeosang never felt so nervous in his life. His hands were trembling in agitation. He heard the classical music playing inside the hall. The door opened for the guest to enter, white flowers and lace fabric designed on each side of the isle. It looked simple, but wonderful. The blonde noticed that there weren't many guests which is understandable as it's only Yeosang's and Seonghwa's family who's invited. No more, no less.
Yeosang's mother held his shoulder and caressed it, trying to calm her son. "Honey, everything will be okay." She reassure him and handed him a small bouquet of white roses with a tint of pink near the stem. She kissed his forehead and smiled with teary eyes, "Thank you for doing this for your sister."
I did it for Seonghwa too.
Yeosang just gave a small nod to assure his mother. She left him alone to walk on the isle with her husband. The blonde took a deep breath before taking a step down on the stairs and followed his parents to the hall.
The attention was now set on Yeosang. For obvious reasons, the latter swallowed his saliva as he was not used to the attention he's receiving. He tried avoiding their gaze pierced to him and set his eyes on the ground while walking. On his peripheral vision, he could see his mother patting her chin up, indicating to look straight to the altar. Yeosang grits his teeth firmly but followed his mother's advice to which he couldn't say no.
So he darted his eyes to the altar, meeting Seonghwa's figure standing like a royal prince. Yeosang swore his heart dropped down to his ass when he saw his groom looking so gorgeous today; he's wearing a black suit that fits his body perfectly matching this with his jet black hair that is swept to the side, showing his brows arched as he was astonished on how the love of his life looked so stunning in that dapper attire. In a glimpse, they then stared, seeing how bright what lies ahead for them. A little more, he paced slowly on the carpet with the hint of vermillion, just as the linings on his suit. He tugged down his collar as he felt the tension, the excitement and the uncertainty.
He let out a sigh and looked down to his watch without even intending to look at the time. He did it as a way to distract himself from the situation his in right now; lost in time. As the nervousness arose, Yeosang scrutinized on how enticing the venue was. Flowers emerging from every corner of the hall. The pillars were decorated with silks of white and gold and with that he knew they were handpicked by Seonghwa's family. Everyone was dressed in regal wear, not that Yeosang asked them to. He was expecting something less complex for the occasion. Tapestries and canvasses of godly figures hung on the wall; it was like an exhibit. He then gazed at the altar once again, seeing his groom. Such a work of art. His figure, his lips, his eyes. It was like he was sculpted just for him; a masterpiece.
When the shorter male arrived at the altar, he faced his groom with a mixture of fret and anxiousness on his face. Seonghwa set his eyes on Yeosang's that the latter couldn't even read his expression. The black haired brought his hand out for Yeosang to hold it. Swallowing greedily, he intertwined their hands together as they took two steps forward and came face to face with the officiant.
As soon as the music ended, the officiant spoke,
"Welcome to all who gathered here today and a pleasant morning indeed. The day has finally come for us to witness these two hearts be in union under the grace of their destinies that are intertwined. Our dear Seonghwa and Yeosang."
The blonde-haired inhaled sharply and tightly gripped on the bouquet of flowers. In the corner of his eye, he looked at the male beside him, who was just wearily looking at the officiant. He does not look excited at all, which made it more awkward for Yeosang.
"Yeosang, will you take Seonghwa as your husband, will you pledge to share your life openly with him, to speak the truth to him, in love? Will you promise to honor and tenderly care for him, to encourage him fulfillment as an individual through all the changes in your lives?"
"I do."
For some reason, Yeosang felt a wave of relief when he answered that question, but the anxiousness rose again when it is Seonghwa's turn to answer.
"Seonghwa, will you take Yeosang as your husband, will you pledge to share your life openly with him, to speak the truth to him, in love? Will you promise to honor and tenderly care for him, to encourage him fulfillment as an individual through all the changes in your lives?"
The shorter male licked his own lips, absolutely avoiding his gaze from Seonghwa for he was scared of the answer he is anticipating on.
"I do."
Yeosang froze and finally divert his gaze to the male in front of him. Seonghwa's eyes sparkled when he met his gaze. The blonde did expect him to say yes only for family reasons, but the latter felt like it was more than that.
He internally brushed his thoughts away, telling to himself that it was impossible for Seonghwa to be genuine with his answer. He knew he was assuming. It was too good to be true.
Alternately, each partner started to recite the traditional vows.
Seonghwa took the silver, shiny ring and started off with his vow, "I, Park Seonghwa, take you, Kang Yeosang, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish always." then inserted the ring on the blonde's ring finger.
It is Yeosang's turn to insert the other ring on his groom's finger and spoke, "I, Kang Yeosang, take you, Park Seonghwa, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish always."
After the vows, the officiant spoke, excited to see the most awaited part of the wedding.
"I pronounce you, man and groom. You may now kiss."
Yeosang sent signals of being anxious as he stared at Seonghwa's dull expression. His heart was beating because of how uncomfortable he is. He feels agitated with the tightness of his chest, as if it's going to burst soon. He then glanced back to his soon-to-be husband, still staring at him blankly. His cheeks flushed pink when Seonghwa's doe eyes pierced towards his own. It felt like hours waiting for Seonghwa to do something, until he slowly assumed that Seonghwa doesn't want to kiss him.
Yeosang scratched his nape in embarrassment yet with a mixture of awkwardness. So the blonde said to the taller male, "Seonghwa, you don't have to do kiss me--"
Before Yeosang could even finish his sentence, Seonghwa brought his left hand and placed it on his nape, and the other on the shorter male's hip. The raven-haired gently pulled Yeosang's head towards his and slowly connected their lips.
The kiss wasn't lust filled nor forced. It was sweet and tender just how Yeosang would imagine in his dreams. He closed his eyes to fully enjoy what is going on between them. It feels like his dream came true, like Cinderella and her prince in a Disney movie.
The crowd clapped for the newly wed couple but Yeosang couldn't care less because all he could think about was Seonghwa and the kiss, which felt like heaven. It finished as soon as it started. Seonghwa immediately averted his gazed away from Yeosang. And before Yeosang could even process what is happening, he felt a sharp pain on his hip just under Seonghwa's touch to which he inaudibly hissed.
The pain started to fade away when the raven-haired removed his hand from the shorter male's hip. He felt relieved at some point, but couldn't help but seem perplexed about it. Seonghwa noticed this so he asked, "You okay?"
Yeosang gave a reassuring smile with a subtle nod. "Yeah, I'm fine."
The taller male didn't look convinced but never mind it. He brought out his hand for the younger male to hold it, and Yeosang gladly accept it. They walked down to the altar together and their families and relatives stared to congratulate the newly wedded couple.
Little did the two know, the grey-haired woman watched the event from afar, disguising herself as a worker of the building. She sighed with a little bitter expression written all over her face, she knew that she should keep her word.
"Seonghwa deserves to be loved after all." She smiled after and left the area and swore that she will never bother the Parks' ever again.
The curse is gone, but things will start to get more interesting.
