The ride to Lagos was filled with excitement,Kike have never been to Lagos before,this is her first time visiting the city and her joy knew no bound. Her sister had called her earlier to tell her that Jide will be picking her up, she had a mixed feelings about that but she didn't let it bother her as far as she's finally going to see the beautiful city of Lagos.

The car came to a stop and everyone came out of the car,the driver went to open the boot for them to carry their bags,Kike took her bag and look around. She suddenly remembered she don't have Jide's contact,she called her sister immediately

"Hello sis"she said as soon as her sister picked her call

"What's up my dear?"her sister asked

"I just came down from the car and I remembered I don't have brother Jide's contact"Kike replied

"Okay,I will forward it to you immediately. Don't move an inch just stay there,he will come and pick you up right away"her sister said

"Okay sis"she replied and the call came to an end. Few minutes later her phone beeped indicating she's having a message,she unlocked her phone to meet her sister already sent her Jide's contact. She saved it immediately with brother Jide. She dialled the contact afterwards,few rings later Jide picked his phone

"Hello?"Jide said over the phone

"Hello brother Jide,I just came down from the car, I'm in the park right now"Kike said

"Okay, just wait for me I will come get you. I'm kinda close by"Jide said and the call came to an end.

Kike waited for thirty minutes already getting tired of waiting when she saw a familiar car parking in her front,the car door open with Jide coming outside. Kike gave him a once over and he was dressed in a black jeans on a dark blue button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up

"I'm so sorry Kike, I have to get something from the supermarket and you know Lagos traffic is something else"Jide said and Kike smiled

"It's fine sir,no problem"Kike replied and took her bag with her,Jide open the car boot and she placed her bag before turning around to sit in the front passenger seat beside Jide. Jide ignited the car engines and they drive out of the park

"How was the journey?"Jide asked trying to have a normal conversation with Kike

"It was short but okay"Kike replied and Jide turn to see her smiling

"Your first time in Lagos?"Jide asked looking at Kike briefly

"Yes!"Kike replied and the rest of the drive was in silence.

Jide's car slow down as he honk on the car,the gate suddenly start opening and he ride inside exchanging greeting with the gateman ,Kike look around the enormous compound and fell in love with it immediately, outside of the house looks so beautiful. Jide killed the car engines opening the door,Kike did thesame and they came out of the car.

Jide open the car boot for Kike to carry her bag,she did that and followed Jide inside the house after he successfully opened the main door. Kike look around the sitting room and got awed at the sight,she was impressed with the way the sitting room was decorated

"Let me take you to your room"Jide said jolting Kike from her thoughts

"Okay sir"she replied and followed him,Jide opened a door to a room and she entered. She likes the room immediately

"This is your room,you're always welcome"Jide said and Kike smiled dropping her bag "Moreni prepared jollof rice before leaving the house this morning,I will warm up the rice while you can freshen up,that other door leads to the bathroom"Jide said the last part pointing to a door

"Thank you so much"Kike said and Jide's mouth twitch before walking away. He went to the kitchen and started warming up the rice while he placed his head on the wall sighing tiredly,his heart beating erratically. He thought after coming back to Lagos he would have killed those ungodly feelings he has for Kike but seeing Kike again proved how much he didn't succeed.

He opened the fridge grabbing an orange juice,he gulped it down to calm his nerves when his phone suddenly start ringing, he took his phone and checked the caller's ID and found out it is Raphael

"What's up?!"he said after picking up the call

"Man! I don't know,Lola just called and told us that Monica is alive and her son is presently with her"Raphael said and the orange juice Jide was holding fell from his hand

"I don't understand,her son? When was she pregnant?"Jide asked

"Come on man! Don't you remember the time she was pregnant my dad went to Abuja for whatever,I wasn't living at Lagos then"Raphael said and silence ensured

"How is she?"Jide asked

"Lola haven't seen her,dude I'm coming over right now. I don't know maybe I'm freaking out"Raphael said and Jide sighed

"Will be waiting for you"Jide said and the call came to an end. Jide placed his two hands on the kitchen island not able to process all he just heard,he remembered seven years ago how his family went into frenzy looking for her and slowly they started resigning to fate and now hearing she has a son somewhere is something that needed to be processed slowly

"Are you okay?"Jide suddenly heard Kike's voice and her hand on his shoulder,he turn to look at her "have been calling you but it seems like your mind is far away"Kike added and Jide sighed drawing Kike to his body hugging her,Kike got shocked and try to pull away but Jide stopped her

"Please I really need to hug someone"Jide said and Kike relaxed rubbing circles on his back while Jide breathes in Kike's smell,he had never felt so relaxed hugging someone like the way he felt hugging Kike.

They didn't know how many minutes they were in that position until they had the front door open which made Kike jumped back immediately suddenly shy looking at her legs.

"The rice is ready"Jide said not knowing what to tell her,he breathes in audibly and took her two hands making Kike to look up at him "thank you for the hug. I really appreciate"he said and Kike smiled

"You're welcome"she replied before Jide left the kitchen. Kike sighed and her eyes landed on floor seeing the spilled orange juice on the floor. She wondered what might have happened and cleared the kitchen before fetching some of the rice in a breakable plate,she took a spoon leaving the kitchen to her room when her eyes landed on Jide and unfamiliar man

"Uhmmm Raphael this is Kike, Moreni's younger sister"Jide said looking uncomfortable. Raphael turn to look at Kike and had a sinister smirk plastered on his face,Kike looked at him questionably

"Hi, uhm I'm Kike. Nice to meet you"Kike said awkwardly

"Raphael. I'm Jide's cousin brother and best friend. Nice to meet you too,it's great we are going to be family soon"Raphael said and Kike tried smiling

"Yeah it's great"Kike said and look at Jide "I will excuse myself"She said and the two men nodded before she walk briskly away

"Now I know!"Raphael suddenly said making Jide to arc his brows

"What do you mean?"Jide asked

"Who wouldn't like a girl like her,she look so perfect. Look at her face man!"Raphael said and Jide sighed

"Are you here to help me or to make me dive more into my ungodly thoughts. Just pray I survive this one week the girl is going to spend with us"Jide said and Raphael chuckles

"Don't tell me you're still infatuated with the girl?"Raphael asked and Jide squeeze his eyes shut

"You said Monica has a son?"Jide decide changing the topic. Raphael mood sour immediately remembering the reason he was here in the first place.

"Yes! My mom said they video called with Lola and saw the boy, I don't understand why Monica would do this to us. At least she should have known her family would had look for her when she went MIA"Raphael said looking angry and thesame time worried

"I'm trying to process this the way you're trying to Raphael. But I'm also happy at least she's alive and well. How come Lola is in possession of her son and she's nowhere to be found?Jide asked

"I don't know. Heard the kid's dad brought him to Abuja"Raphael said rubbing his hand on his face

"Where have Monica been all this while?"Jide asked

"Port Harcourt"Raphael said and Jide's eyes slightly went wide

"Trust me it's all for the best at least your dad will get to see her,the old man misses his girl a lot"Jide said and Raphael snorted

"You can say it again,my brother Christian is busy angry at Monica. He said he can't wait to set his eyes on her and give her his piece of mind. I know dude is happy she's alive"Raphael said and the two bursted into laughter

"Seriously this is a good news. I'm happy she's okay,so are you going to tell Sarah about it?"Jide asked and Raphael gave him 'are you kidding me look'

"I don't even have the girl's contact,you know she's just going on and off. Please let's talk something better. When did you plan on starting arrangements for your wedding?"Raphael asked changing the topic,Jide sighed taking the bait

"Seriously I don't know,I think I will sit Moreni down and have that discussion with her, probably next tomorrow cause tomorrow I have some appointments and I think I will be coming back to the house very late"Jide said and Raphael nodded

"I envy you bro. You got someone to marry and here am I never falling in love before"Raphael said and Jide bursted into laughter "or I could asked this Moreni's younger sister out. She's beautiful and all what do you think?"Jide's laughter died down immediately suddenly feeling possessive

"You dare not even think about it Raphael,I swear I will personally cut your dick off"Jide said and Raphael's eyes went wide

"Calm down tiger! You're just acting like a possessive boyfriend"Raphael said and Jide frowned

"I did not"Jide said sternly

"Of course you did"Raphael said smiling smugly

"I did not!"

"You did!"

"I did not!"

"I can't wait to see you babe"they suddenly heard Kike's voice, she was on a phone call holding the plate she use to eat her rice,she was going over to the kitchen "I feel like tomorrow is too far.... Yeah.... I love...."Kike's voice suddenly faded as she entered the kitchen

"Look like the girl already has a lover"Raphael said and look at Jide wriggling his brows at him,Jide raise up his brows questioning him "but that won't stop me from going after her"Raphael added and Jide had enough. He stood up and dragged Raphael out of his house

"I shouldn't see you here until she's back to Ibadan!"Jide shouted at him before locking his door. He turn over to walk away and his eyes landed on Kike's. He suddenly realised that he is home alone with Kike and the heat on the sitting room intensified
