Jide came down from the plane and look around,he was suddenly hit by nostalgia. He kinda missed the country,he chuckled at the thought and started heading out of the airport. He spot his aunt immediately who was waving at him,his smile grew wider and he increase his steps. He hugged her immediately he get closer to her

"Mom!" He said,he couldn't contain his excitement

"My baby! I have missed you so much. It's so great having you back" his aunt said and he nodded,he carried his loads putting them in the car booth,he entered the car with his aunt who ride him to the house he grew up in. On the ride he took his phone and went through Kike's photos he have on his phone and smiled,he hopes to see her again and maybe this time around she will accept him.

Several Months later

"I do" Rose said and everybody clapped

"You may kiss the bride" the pastor said and everyone started shouting and clapping for them,Rose was busy laughing while Raphael suddenly got all shy,Rose pull Raphael closer and kissed him, Raphael kissed her back. Everybody clapped for them

"That's so funny!" Lola who is a cousin sister to Jide and Raphael said,she lives in Abuja too and Kike got to know her,she's kind too and they hit it off immediately

"You can say that again" Monica said chuckling

"It's not funnier than your wedding,when you suddenly went into labour after saying I do"Julliane, Jide's younger sister said and Kike smiled. She haven't been feeling okay when she found out Julliane is Jide's younger sister, whenever she hears Jide's name she went all moody

"Big sisters!" They suddenly heard a voice and all turn to see who's that

" Boluwatife!"Monica said and hug her

"Yeye girl" Julliane said and they all laughed

"She's Jide's younger sister too. The last born" Lola said and Kike nodded feeling all hot. She stood up immediately

" I will be back"she said and left them,she suddenly feel someone grabs her hand

"Kike! Where to?" Rose asked

"I need to use the washroom"Kike said faking a smile. She left Rose increasing her steps,she didn't want to breakdown in front of anyone. She entered the washroom and sat on the floor silently crying,she misses Jide so much that it feels as if she's loosing her mind each passing day,she started hallucinating too and she doesn't like it at all.

"Go away!" She suddenly heard a voice and went all quiet without talking

"Akin!" She heard a small whinny voice,which she recognised immediately. That's Elizabeth's voice, Lola's baby girl

"I told you to go away" this time around she heard the boyish voice very well who she immediately recognized it's Daniel's voice. Monica's son

"You have been avoiding me" Elizabeth said and started crying

" You're clingy!"Daniel said

" I'm not,I only told you I like you. We are suppose to be friends and play together"Elizabeth said

" I don't want to play with you Eliza,go play with your twin brother" Daniel said and Elizabeth's cry got louder

"I hate you!" Elizabeth shouted

"What?" Daniel asked sounding shocked

"I hate you! You don't want to play with me" Elizabeth said and Kike heard Daniel sigh

" It's okay,don't cry" Daniel said

"Don't talk to me if you won't be my friend"Elizabeth said and Kike heard footsteps,she slowly moved to see them and saw Daniel hugging Elizabeth, Elizabeth wrapped her hands around him while he wiped her tears away

"Don't cry again,you look more ugly when you do" Daniel said and Elizabeth pouted

" You're calling ugly again" Elizabeth said about crying again

" You're beautiful,very very beautiful" Daniel said and Elizabeth smile grew wider before they walk away.

Kike forgot she was crying and chuckled,she can't believe what she just saw

"Children" she muttered and wipe her tears away

Six Years Later

"I'm home!" Daniel shouted heading over to his room,Kike smiled picking Desiree, Monica's last born from the floor

"I prepared Dinner,I have night shift today so I won't be at home"Kike said while playing with Desiree

" Oh!!! You promised to have a girls night with me today" Diana who's just entering the house whined

" We can do that tomorrow,lucky it's weekend and mummy doesn't have to force you to go to bed"Kike said and Diana nodded going inside her room

"Sister Kike I want to wee wee" Divine, Monica's son who's just four years old said

"You want to kill sister Kike right? She have to go to the hospital tonight,don't disturb her"Monica said taking Desiree from her, Desiree is a year old and she's busy sucking her thumb

"Don't worry,I will help him" Kike said

"Don't bother my dear,go and get ready it's almost time for your night shift"Monica said and Kike nodded leaving the sitting room

She sighed as she entered her room,she change the pyjamas she's wearing,she took her bag leaving the house. Kike owns a car now that takes her to work and she works for Joel, Lola's husband who's also a doctor and owns a very big and popular hospital in Abuja

She parked her car in the parking lot and came out of it going inside the hospital to report to duty for the night,she suddenly felt someone holding her hand

"Kike the fine girl" Bose her colleague and friend teased

"You have started again?" Kike asked chuckling "let me report to duty first"Kike said and started walking,Bose followed her immediately

" Guess who is back to the hospital"Bose said and Kike stopped walking

"Who's that?"Kike asked

" Jerry"Bose said and Kike rolled her eyes and continue walking, she went over to report and started going to her unit while Bose keeps on following her

"Wait! You don't have work?" Kike asked

"Of course I do,I wanted to gist you"Bose said

" Safe your gist for later,when the patients are sleeping"Kike said and Bose's mouth widen as she smiles

" Okay,we will talk later"Bose said and started walking away. Kike breathes out sigh of relief when her phone suddenly started ringing. She picked the call up immediately

"Kike!" She could hear the excitement on Rose's voice

"What's up with you? And the soldiers?" Kike asked. Rose gave birth to three children with interval of two years,all three are boys

"As annoying as ever! Don't spoil my good mood asking about them"Rose said and Kike bursted into laughter

" What made you call this night? I'm on duty" Kike said

"Guess who is coming to Abuja to attend her bestie's twenty seventh birthday"Rose said and Kike screamed covering her mouth immediately

"You're coming to Abuja?" Kike asked

"Yes doll,we are so having girls night out. I have missed you so much" Rose said and Kike giggles

" I have missed you so much too"Kike said and sigh " you're coming with the boys? My godchildren" Kike asked

"I got no choice I have to,Kike it's time I start calling someone my godchild,when will you be serious with your life and what about that cute guy Jerry?"Rose asked and Kike rolled her eyes

" It seems you don't have anything else to say. Good night" Kike said and ended the call chuckling.

Kike have tried surviving,even though for the past six years she haven't been completely happy. She have done a good job at hiding from everyone she knows and care about her,they all thought Kike's over Jide but she isn't. She still cry herself to sleep some night and regrets the decision she made back then. She haven't even try contacting him for once,she thought Jide will miss her enough to call even if it just once but that wasn't the case,it's obvious he's over her and she have to try her own best and be over him too. She can't let all these roller coaster feelings to go on.

But Kike can't deny it,life have been good or better than what it use to be. She started talking to her mom again after a year she moved to Abuja,she and her dad started talking three years back even though the relationship isn't as smooth as it use to be but at least it's way better than what it use to be. Moreni got married five years ago to Timothy and they now live in South Africa,she have given birth to two children both girls. She's a presenter on one of the south African stations,Kike and Moreni talk once in awhile and Kike have begged her to come home to see their parents,Kike knows her mom and dad misses Moreni and her dad regrets his rash action too

Moreni have been postponing the meeting,she said she's feeling awkward to see her parents again. Life have been good to her. Rose work as a nurse in eko hospital in lagos too and she have a fashion business going on which is also successful for her.

Kike graduated from Nile University with good results and Joel, Lola's husband gave her job immediately in his hospital,she have been working there for the past two years. Kike neither dated or talk about getting married even though in few days time she will be twenty seven years

"Kike!" She suddenly heard her name being called and turn around to see Jerry looking at her,Jerry is one of the doctors in the hospital. He have been asking Kike out from the first day he set his eyes on her but Kike have always declined

"Doctor Jerry" Kike said with a fake smile,she was happy when Jerry was transferred from the hospital and now he is back

"No need for formalities,it's just the two of us here" Jerry said and Kike nodded looking around and realised it's just the two of them

"Can I help you with anything?" Kike asked

"Yes a lot" Jerry said and Kike read the hidden meaning to what he said,she couldn't talk and kept quiet "I came back for you"

"You shouldn't have" Kike replied

" I have to,I can't just give up like that. For the past seven months I spent in Bayelsa, you're the only one clouding my mind and I couldn't hold it in anymore and decided to come back here"Jerry said and Kike sighed

" I'm on duty,I have a patient to check on"Kike said and tried walking away but Jerry stopped her by holding her left arm

"Listen to me first Kike" Jerry said and swallowed "I'm not forcing this on you or anything,I just want you to give me a chance,go on dates with me,check out my personalities and see if you can actually try this out with me or not. I swear if after all this you still don't want me I won't disturb you anymore"

" Jerry..."Jerry cut her short

"Just think about it please, atleast by now you should know I'm serious about you. I wouldn't waste my time for two years now over something I'm not serious with"Jerry said and Kike nodded " thank you,just think about it within this week and let me know your answer"Jerry said and left Kike

Kike sighed and her shoulders sags,she don't know what to do and maybe she should just give the man a chance,she will be twenty seven soon and needs a man in her life. She can't really continue like this hoping for something that will never happen.
