They both sat on the bench, neither of them speaking as the wind blew by them causing the scent of pumpkins and freshly fallen leaves to rush at them.

Around them were young couples, the young couples were all either laughing, holding hands, or both.

But they, were sitting on the bench, holding hands, and smiling.

So they watched as the other couples went by and a few couples said hi to the couple on the bench, they said hi back.

Then as the moon started to come up and take the Sun's place in the sky; one of the two people took their hand out of their partners and stood up.

The other person was about to stand up but was stopped by their partner who stood up before them.

The one who stood up faced his partner and gave her a smile as he pulled something out of his coat pocket.

His partner watched as a small little box came out of his pocket.

He then got on one knee as best as he could and said with a cracked voice, "Lily, I know that we have been together for a long time and two years ago, the ring I gave you 50 years ago broke. But,"

Lily then looked at the box as her husband opened it to show the ring she has broken; tears filled her eyes as she stuttered out, "You, you got it fixed! Oh! Thank you Josh, I don't know what else to say."

Josh reached out and took her hand saying "Will you take the ring back?"

Lily now had tears of joy come down her face as she said "Of course."

Josh smiled once more as he put the ring that had been missing from her finger for 2 years back on.

They then looked at one another after the ring was back on and said at the same time, "I love you."
