(Y/n) POV

I woke up from my sleeping bag after hearing Nora call out Ren to wake up from his sleep over and over again.

Nora: Ren...oh Ren...wake up Ren!

(Y/n): Uggh so far the only person you managed to wake up was me.

Nora: Whoops sorry about that.

It was at that time Ren also woke up.

Ren: *yawn* Okay I'm up Nora but next time please take into consideration that other people are asleep.

Nora: Will do now can I please have some of your famous pancakes?

(Y/n): Ren your pancakes are famous?

Ren: No they aren't, it's just that Nora likes them a lot.

Nora: But they taste so good.

(Y/n): Well I would like to try them out sometime.

From the corner of my eye I saw Nero waking up with a sour expression, so I called out to him.

(Y/n): Hey Nero!

He looked at me straight in the eyes sharply as if he was threatening to slice me in half speaking of which what kind of weapon did he even have?

Nero: ?

(Y/n): Want to get some pancakes?

He then took out his notepad wrote a message, then made a paper airplane and landed right next to me.

Nero: (Very well. I accept. Thank you.)

Ren: Okay so we have six people for pancakes.

(Y/n): Yep that seems about right.

I saw Nero get up and go to the bathroom everytime I look at him there's something about him that's just dangerous and mysterious and I felt the need to see what it is that he's hiding. However my thoughts were interrupted by Jaune.

Jaune: Hey (Y/n)! We'll meet ya in the cafeteria.

(Y/n): Got it!

I went to the bathroom and before I could take a step in my leg was grabbed in which I almost fell on my face until I caught myself with my hands planted on the floor like I was doing pushups.

(Y/n): Woah!

Ruby: Hi! (Y/n) Did ya miss me? Did ya miss me well did ya?!

(Y/n): Well morning to you too Ruby now please don't ever do that ever again and let go. I need to wash up.

Ruby: I'll go with you, and help you out.

(Y/n): Uh no Ruby 1.) This is the men's bathroom 2.)  We aren't even a thing, 3.) We aren't a married couple or own a house.

Ruby: But we can be all those things and own a house!

(Y/n): Uh first off no I don't want to be married, I'd rather be free like the wind and forgot to mention this 4.) You come off as very very desperate so I would have to say no to you.

Her grip on my leg got stronger as the tone of her voice changed

Ruby: And what do you mean by that my knight?

(Y/n): Knight? Girl you are outta your mind! I'm no one's knight in shining armor I'm my own knight.

Ruby: Uh...what?

I could only facepalm as she didn't understood it.

(Y/n): Okay in other words I'm no one's man, I'm my own man! Get it?

Ruby: Oooohhhh okay now I get it...so wanna go out?

(Y/n): (Is she an idiot?) I already gave you an answer.

Ruby: Great! Pick me up at 7 tonight.

(Y/n): Wait what?!

It was then somebody clonked her in the head with their fist.

Ruby: Ow!

Yang: Sis you've got to stop doing this it's early in the morning.

Ruby: Yang what are you doing?!

Yang: Just let go of the guy will ya besides we have to get ready for us to join teams.

(Y/n): Teams? What do you mean?

Yang: Well here in Beacon and other academies huntsman and huntresses are placed in a team of four. Sometimes the results may vary into a three person team or a duo. That's to ensure we each have our backs and come out alive.

(Y/n): Less deaths, more encounters to come huh.

Ruby: Mmhm so that means will you form a team with me?!

She got clonked on the head again by Yang and slapped her hand that was keeping my leg in place making her lose her grip.

(Y/n): Thanks Yang.

Yang: No problem.

I left to go towards the showers once I was done showering I put on my clothes and went straight to the cafeteria where I met up with Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren and Nero. We were eating our pancakes and I could feel an intensive stare comig from behind me and I can guess who it was. It was then a note was passed to me and it read this. "The girl in the red and black dress is eyeing you like prey, I'd be cautious if I was you, also I wish you luck in finding your own team."

(Y/n): Thanks Nero for the advice and wishing me luck.

He simply closed his eyes and did a short nod before returning back to eating his pancakes he passed a note to Ren and he thanked Nero for the compliment. Pyrrha then asked a question about Nero.

Pyrrha: Hey Nero why is it that you can't talk? We're all friends here there's no need to be shy.

Nero then gave her another note and she passed it around to everyone who was shocked at what they read.

Jaune: Oh man that's rough man.

Pyrrha: I'm sorry...I didn't know about your situation please forgive me.

He simply waved his hand giving a sign that all's been forgiven. After finishing our breakfast an announcement was made and we went straight to the training grounds where we would be and I kid you not be launched from there into a forest where we have to find relics.

Ozpin: Now here's is how the rules work the first person you make eye contact with becomes your teammate and you have to go with said teammate to retrieve the relic and bring it back here. Do note as well that there is Grimm lurking around so keep your guards up. Now ready for launching?

(Y/n): Launching huh ahahaha....(ah fuck my fear of heights!)

Jaune: Hey (Y/n) don't worry I'm in the same boat as you.

(Y/n): At least I know I'm not alone in this.

I looked to my right and saw Ruby with Yang until Ruby noticed me and waved at me to which I waved back a little. I looked back to my left and saw Nero looking like he doesn't even give a fuck. We were then launched into the forest with both Jaune and I screaming like a couple of girls.

Jaune: Eeeeyaaaaaahhhhh!

(Y/n): Aaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeee!

We were thrown either shorter or longer all I saw was Jaune disappearing into the forest as I was still flying until I felt myself beginning to land close to ground. As I began to descend I grabbed a tree branch which snapped thank you very much luck! And crashed onto the ground.

(Y/n): Oooogghhh! Ow that fucking hurt...Ngh all right now to find either the relic or a teammate. (But best bet is to not have Ruby as a teammate thanks to Nero's advice. My best option is to find my friends and hopefully we may have a team of five. As I explored deep into the forest I heard rustling and got my weapon out which was a gunblade.

I was about ready to take the initiative until a shadow flipped over the bush and pointed their two guns towards me and I put my weapon away seeing the face of someone familiar. However his clothing changed he no longer wears the clothes he usually wears it's now become more like white armor and from it's appearance alone it must be incredibly bulky since that looks like it weighs a ton but to him it doesn't feel like it weighs him down all that much.

(Y/n): Oh Nero! Heya well since you found me guess we'll be teammates then.

He put his weapons back and extended out his hand in which I shook it but I instantly regretted it cause that simple handshake felt like he was about to crush my hand. He then displayed a message above his head "Sorry about that still getting used to the new armor modifications for combat."

(Y/n): Right well um anyways glad to find you.

Nero: "Likewise it's better than having that girl be by your side, she's clearly out to get you. It's best if you avoided contact with her at all costs.

(Y/n): Right. Also those guns look pretty cool mind if try it.

Nero: "It's best if we save that for another time. Let's find the relics fast before little red riding hood shows up."

(Y/n): R-right!

As we continued further down the forest we were then surrounded by a bunch of Ursa. Nero and I quickly made short work with them with Nero taking care of most of them because he combined his two guns into one dual blade and went full speed decapitating them.

(Y/n): Wow you certainly mauled through them all.

Nero: "I once wiped out an entire group of Ursa so these guys are just child's play."

We continued further into the forest and made our way to were we found the relics. They had the appearance of big chess pieces so we decided amongst us on who would take it.

Nero: "I scanned the area and the layouts of the relics no traps exist there. Wanna go for it?"

(Y/n): Sure

I made my way to the relic and chose the black knight. It was then I heard screaming and rustling coming from behind us I looked back and saw Jaune running from a giant scorpion grimm. Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora were trying to keep it away from Jaune. But it swung it's tail and knocked them all forward. With a loud screech it began to move until four figures began to move and take hits at it. It was Yang, Ruby, the Schnee girl, and that cat faunus. They began to attack it while the rest were regaining their footing and began to attack it as well.

(Y/n): Well then let's end this Nero.

Nero then jumped up and began shooting bullets into its eyes while screeching in pain, I then loaded up fire dust into my gunsword and began shooting it at the grimm which wildly swung it's limbs until it used it's tail to stab onto the ground where I once was. A swirl of roses surrounded me rescuing me from the attack.

Ruby: (Y/n)! Are you okay? Are you hurt?!

(Y/n): Nah just fine, for now focus on the battle.

We began to attack it from different directions with Yang shooting it's skull to the Schnee girl trying to freeze it's legs and Nora trying to break them. Jaune and Pyrrha were moving in synch to assist Nora, meanwhile for the cat girl, Nero and Ren they were shooting off the tail. Until Nero and the cat girl moved in sliced it off causing it to shriek in pain. I then thrusted my sword into the middle of it's head and began to slice upwards. After that slice it stopped moving and was confirmed dead by Nero. We made our way back but along the way Ruby kept trying to grab onto my arm but Yang pulled her away from me and I could tell that she was getting real upset of her sister pulling her away from me. But it's best if I told her the truth now.

(Y/n): Hey you guys go on ahead I want to speak with just Ruby and Yang.

Jaune: Suit yourself we'll be waiting.

Pyrrha: Okay then hurry back.

Nero:...

The rest said the same type of thing as Jaune and the rest except for the Schnee girl. I turned my attention now to Ruby and Yang. I asked Yang what she thought about this whole thing with her sister trying to get close to me.

Yang: Well honestly I don't approve of this Ruby you two just met and pardon my rudeness but you don't seem right to be dating my sister. Honestly if anything I know of a girl who you can date she's blonde, has lilac eyes is a fun party girl you know who I'm talking about right?

She finished that answer with a wink, and I know who exactly she was referring to but I decided to mess with her.

(Y/n): No not really who is that? Can you show me?

It was then Yang faceplanted onto the ground out of the corner of my eye I could've sworn I saw Ruby have a smug grin on her face before Yang got back up and face returned to normal.

Yang: Ugh...are you really that dense?

(Y/n): Why yes....yes I am. Be blunt about things don't beat around the bush because if you can't tell guys don't pick up on hints. Seriously girls be asking why don't guys pick up on their hints?! Well here's to answer ya one hints will go right past us unless you be blunt about it, second we don't want to misinterpret things because if said hint isn't a hint then us guys are in some serious trouble which I don't want any. As for the whole dating aspect I honestly don't want to date anyone, I'd rather be free like the wind than be chained with a relationship, I want to see what life has in store for myself see it with my own two eyes I want to experience an adventure of a lifetime. Once I feel like I've had my fill of adventure then I'd might settle down with someone. But for now nah I'm good and Ruby hate to say this but I only see you as an acquaintance, not a friend or anything like that. You come off as too clingy, very stalker-like and you just look too young for me lots of misunderstandings is going to happen if I do date you so I've decided not to date you. I'm sorry, and apologies to you Yang as well I know what you said but it's best for you to see what I feel.

Yang: I understand and this is part of growing up to, we win some, we lose some but anyways thank you for proving my point as well.

(Y/n): Point?

Yang: I told her the exact same thing as you did and she didn't want to accept it so there's that.

(Y/n): I see

I felt an ominous breeze pass by as Ruby began to cry.

Ruby: *sniffle* I understand...is it fine if we just stayed friends?

Yang:...

(Y/n):...Uh...

I looked towards Yang who shrugged her shoulders in confusion.

(Y/n):....Uuuhh I will if you stop being so clingy and being a stalker.

She immediately beamed up in happiness.

Ruby: Deal!

We then made our way back to everyone else but unbeknownst to them a shadow was lurking by the trees.

Nero: (Looks like an ominous day has started.)

Okay it's been quite a long time since I last updated this holy snap, I never knew writing for another story could feel this refreshing since I invest most of my time in Path Towards Love or Despair. But anyways it's good to be back in this story again until the next update. Rekxyen out!
