Ignorance is bliss. Avoiding our problems feels so much easier than working through them. We think if we avoid something, it'll eventually go away. But all we're doing is giving it room to grow.

       We all want to be enlightened. We want to grow our knowledge. We want to solve problems and great mysteries. But we fear the process of enlightenment because it requires time and effort.

      The most important things don't comes easily.

       As Plato voiced in the Allegory of the Cave, "... the power and capacity of learning exists in the soul already..." We are ultimately the primary source responsible for our ability to learn. You could spend your entire life trying to teach something to someone, but as long as they are not willing to make any effort to understand it, you will not succeed. Just as you will not learn, if you can't place yourself in a position to be unknowing or wrong.

       Aldous Huxley once said, "If most of us remain ignorant of ourselves, it is because self-knowledge is painful and we prefer the pleasures of illusions."

       As time goes by, mankind seems to grow lazier. We prefer to stay in our happy state, an illusion, than have to make an effort for a journey that will most likely be painful. Knowledge, although, wanted is not always necessary to survive. It is needed to reach our maximum potential, but we can also live with unmet potential. Most people use this as an excuse to avoid going through the difficult journey of enlightenment.

       We settle for okay, because thriving for our happiest places us at risk for crushed dreams and dissapointment. But dreams that aren't chased, leave regret that can be just as consuming as disappointment.

      Discovering the truth, can be painful. However, if we did not need to make any effort to achieve what we wanted, would we still feel pride in our accomplishments? Would you not feel prouder knowing that you and your efforts are the reason that you were able to achieve all of your desires?

       Don't let fear of falling, stop you from chasing your dreams. A fall makes you stronger. When you find yourself living your dream life, you'll be surprised to find the pride that stems from those falls. Because the strength you proved when you got back up, is one of the most memorable parts of your journey.
