Let's cut to the chase. You're already on it.

      They say "all roads lead to Rome." There are many paths to every destination. There are so many side roads or detours that we can take during our travels.

      Our GPS will often make sure we get this chance to explore, even when we're on a time crunch.

     Just like we might get mad and blame the GPS for getting lost, sometimes we face anger or disappointment when life leads us down paths we don't expect.

     Here's a short excerpt from one of my novels. The two main characters are about to embark on a journey and discuss which path they should take.

      "There are so many paths we could," you note aloud. "It's going to be incredibly easy to get lost... How do we know which one we should take?"

     "We don't," I answer simply. "We can only do as feels right in this very moment. Maybe we will realize in a day or two, that we would have been better off taking another path. But we have no way of knowing so in this moment, thus there is no wrong answer. Let your feet take you where you feel is right."

      When faced with multiple choices and possibilities, fear overcomes us as we worry about making the wrong decision.

      But I don't believe you can make the wrong decision, when it comes to choosing your path.

     Maybe you will choose the inconvenient or untraditional path.

      Maybe you will choose the path that doubles the troubles of your endeavours, but maybe you require that difficult path to discover what you really seek.

      Maybe there are lessons you need to learn; places you need to see; people you need to meet.

     Sometimes we need to stumble on a difficult path to find the entryway to the beautiful path we've been waiting on.

      It's best not to cling to the idea that only a single path can bring us to our desired locations. Just like we shouldn't cling to a single mean of achieving our dreams.

      Different paths can lead to the same destination. A writer, whether self-published or traditionally published, has the same opportunity to become a best seller.

      If we remain open to new possibilities, we may stumble upon a path that we didn't know existed.

      Let yourself explore the paths before you with a breath of relief and the belief that you cannot make the wrong decision. A path that seems wrong at first, can lead to the best path.
