Willow's new pet cat

"Willow, are you ready?!" My mom called "Yes!" I yelled running downstairs with my shoes and hoodie on. My mom grabbed the car keys and we headed out of the door. I was really exited today. Today I was going to get a cat from the animal shelter. We drove for about 20 minuets before we arrived. As soon as my mom parked the car opened the car door and jumped out. "If you don't stop acting like that then I will take you home." My mom said getting out of the car and locking it. We walked into the building and it was filled with the barking of dogs, my mom talked to the guy at the desk and he called someone into the room.

Soon a young girl maybe in her 20s walked in, "Hi my name is Clare and I will be showing you the cats that we have available for adoption." Clare said, we nodded "Follow me." She said walking down a hallway. We soon entered a big room with cats available for adoption. We walked around and I saw a lot of cats until I saw a big black and white cat (The cat in the picture only as big as a Bengal cat). "What about this one?" I asked pointing at the cat in the cage. "Oh, you probably wouldn't like that one." Clare said, "Why not?" I asked "She doesn't like anyone, she hisses and scratches anyone who tries to touch her." She said, the cat meowed and I walked up to the cage and put my hand against the cage door, the black and white cat walked up to the door and started to rub against the door purring. "Wow, I have never seen her do that before." Clare said "What is her name?" I asked "Shadow." Clare said "I want her." I said trying to pet her threw the cage door. "Ok I will be right back." Clare said walking away.

She came back with a harness and a leash to put on Shadow. Clare opened the door and Shadow jumped into my lap purring loudly and rubbing up against me making me laugh. Clare put the harness and leash down beside me so I could put it on Shadow. I stood up after I put the harness and leash on and we walked to the desk in the front and filled out the papers. "Congratulations, Shadow is now yours." The guy at the desk said. "Thank you." I said, he nodded and we walked out to the car. I let Shadow  into the backseat and I got into the front. My mom started driving to the store to get some stuff for Shadow (They went to a store like pet smart so they could bring Shadow inside), "Oh can I sit up front too?" Shadow meowed climbing up to the front seat. My mom and I laughed as Shadow sat down in my lap, I started to pet her making her purr.

As  soon as my mom parked the car I ran out unlocked the door and let Shadow explore the house. "This is your new home!" I said, Shadow ran around sniffing the house and when I went upstairs to put Shadow's stuff in my room, Shadow followed me. As soon as we got into my room I closed the door. "How can you speak to me." I asked out loud "You will find out in your own time." Shadow meowed. I took the harness and leash of and hung it up on a hook on the wall and set up her stuff in my room. We talked for about one hour learning about each other, well more Shadow learning about me. "Time for dinner!" My mom called from downstairs, "Coming!" I called getting up and going downstairs. "Oh and by the way you are the only one who can hear me." Shadow said "Ok." I responded in my head. Shadow followed me down and I saw my mom grabbing some cups and pouring us some milk.

We ate dinner and talked for a while and then we headed to bed. I got ready for bed, turned my light off, and then I layed in bed. "Can I sleep with you?" Shadow asked, I nodded and I felt Shadow land on my bed and curl up in a ball next to me.

(The next morning)

I woke up to my alarm going off. I groaned and turned my alarm off, I sat up and rubbed my eyes and looked over at Shadow, she stretched and then walked over to her box that had her litter box, food, and water inside with a bed on top. I got up myself and started to get ready for school. I am so glad it is Friday, I thought. "Where are you going?" Shadow asked as I brushed my hair, "I am going to go to school." I answered, "Can I come?" Shadow asked, "No, pets are not allowed to go to school." I said pulling my hair up into a ponytail. "How am I supposed to protect you if I can't be with you!" Shadow growled in my head thrashing her tail. I grabbed my sweater and my book bag, "Be good." I told Shadow. I closed the door, locked it, and waited for the bus to come.

After the bus came I sat in my seat and read my book. "What are you doing nerd?" The school bully said, I ignored him which was the best thing to do when he talked to you, sometimes. "I asked you a question you little twerp." He said shoving me hard. This time it was best to answer him, "R-re-reading." I studdered. "That is what I though." he said shoving me again making my head hit the bus window. "Why don't you do something fun like play video games or a sport." He said not really asking but more of stating it. He walked to the back of the bus and sat down with his friends. I rubbed the back of my head in pain, "What happened!" Shadow demanded "I just hit my head off of the bus window." I said still rubbing my head. "No I could feal your fear, now tell me what happened!" Shadow growled "Fine, someone pushed me into the bus window, happy now!?" I said angrily.

The bus stopped and I got up and walked into the isle and off the bus. Thankfully I got off before Jack (Jack is the school bully, if you have any better idea for a name for him please comment and let me know.) because if I didn't then he would hit me. I walked to my locker put my stuff in my locker, grabbed my stuff for class, and walked to class.
