This happened to my dad when he was younger.

There was a carnival that always happens once in a while. My dad would always sneak on the Mary go round because he didn't have money, he did it a couple of times but then the workers would chase him and he would jump off and hide in the crowd and do it again. One time he was with his friends and one of his friends said "let's go on the Mary go round" and my dad said "let's go" and his friend said "I heard they installed these things that shock you" and my dad said "no, cause I was just on it" and his friend said "Okay go, let me see." My dad got on and grabbed the pole and started to get shocked and he was crying. He let go of the pole, but it was stuck to his hand, shocking him. It went around about five times and when the ride stopped he went flying and landed on his back. He said that people were laughing at him and he went to the side were nobody was and started crying. He said that he could still feel it shocking him really bad, even though he got off of it. The worker that put the shocking thing came over to him and said "Are you alright" and my dad said "yeah" and then he said "You only got shocked because the sandals your wearing have metal on the bottom and you should be wearing shoes" and then he walked away and my dad ran home.
