"When your life is normal, the same every day, the smallest changes could seem disastrous."

You trudge your way to Melody's, your mind inexplicably vacant as you ponder over what happened earlier. You hold your head with one hand, massaging your temples with the other. A simple accident, a push by a stranger that meant nothing.

But you know it was something. You just didn't know what.

The cold breeze nips at your skin, as you make your way to the familiar steps, guiding you to the one place that you could escape the hustle of life. Melody's.

You slightly push open the door, stepping in as you close it slowly as if not to wake anyone. The receptionist smiles, opening her mouth to greet you. You quickly shoot your finger over your lips, silencing her. You nod, smiling and mouthing a 'hi'. You suddenly feel a quiver on your front pocket. Plucking out your inexpensive phone from your pocket, you look at the notification and a smile creeps slyly to your lips.

Joo-sy: Gurl u r scaring me >.<

Joo-sy: R u ok???

Your head still spins desperately over the useless topic of the useless stranger. And since you wanted to cheer yourself up, you decide to have some fun. Your fingers dance over your screen.

You: imma comin

Joo-sy: ooohhh... r u? 😏

You facepalm yourself mentally, forcing yourself to remind yourself to give him a good lecture.

You: no... i'll be there

You: In 3...

As you text, you creep your way into the guitar classroom (which where you and Joo hang out until class starts), making sure to put your foot down as lightly as possible.

You: 2...

Joo-sy: ?

You hear a creak as he stands from his chair, you make out his footsteps as they get louder, nearing the entrance of the door to the classroom. You take quiet steps, as you sneak to the entrance of the classroom. He's there, walking to the doorway, eyes trailing down to his phone. He doesn't see you yet. You smile again.

You: 1

You glance up, ready to face him. His face contracts, as his eyes squint, still glued to the phone. He walks and bumps right into you. He stumbles back and looks up, eyes like moons as he stares into your irises. His hand clenches his shirt next to his heart. You hold your stomach in an attempt to lessen the pain you developed from laughing. His face is priceless.

His features seem to relax, eyes softening as he stands up, dramatically dusting his shoulders. He makes his way to you, eyeing you. He stops in front of you.

"I could've seriously got hurt you know," he huffs in your face.

"S-sorry," you clench your sides, trying to stifle your laughter.

His lips turn upwards as he smiles at you. "Sunny," he exclaims, suddenly lunging at you, covering you completely with himself,  hugging you. "I missed you so much."

Yes, Sunny was his pet name for you. A few weeks after you became friends he said that 'Sang Hee' was a beautiful name but was too boring and he wanted to call you by a name that 'represents' what you are to him. His words, not yours.

And so he settled on 'Sunny', stating that everytime he sees you, you seem to brighten your day. Again: his words. He insisted that 'Sunny' rhymed with 'Sang Hee', so the name stuck, and he stills calls you that to this day. The end.

You had to admit, you didn't mind. You actually liked it. Nerves in your brain relaxed, and you felt happy when the word rolled out of his lips. It sounds cheesy, but it's true. And, because of this, every time he calls you by your actual name, you knew you were in trouble.

You lifted your small hands to hold his arms, trying to push yourself out of his embrace. "You saw me just yesterday," you managed to breathe out through your struggle to take in oxygen.

He let go of you. He eyed you with the "are you seriously kidding me" look.

"Just yesterday," he scoffed. His hands make his way to his hips, fingers on their way to his waist, his bracelets softly jingling as they collide against each other. "Just yesterday," he rolled his eyes, "how could you say such a thing?"

He points with his index finger at you, gently poking your collarbone. "Well," he snaps his fingers, "I'll have you know that I didn't see you for more than 10 hours and I had to stay in my apartment watching the saddest thing ever made on Netflix, and had no one to cry with!"

You giggle again, tapping his back as your eyes conveyed another 'sorry'. You glance down at your phone momentarily to check the time. You sigh. 5 more minutes until this place becomes a hive for children.

He follows you as you shuffle towards the cosiness of your classroom. You switch on the light and let your eyes shift to the room. The room glistens with its creamy white colour coating three of the walls, a huge mirror covering the other. You scan the room, skimming over the 5 keyboards placed neatly in the corners of the room and along the walls. You look at yourself through the mirror before letting your eyes fall on the beautiful, shining, black grand piano sitting in one corner,  begging you desperately to let your fingers glide over the keys.

Well, you can't now.

Joo sits on the chair behind the large brown desk meant for the teachers of the classroom (which you two are), gently fluttering his eyes shut. You sigh, placing your bag on the desk.

You drag a chair to where Joo sits and place it next to him. You slump on the chair, your body suddenly feeling heavy. You lay your head against Joo's shoulder and he shuffles in his seat, trying to make your comfortable. You gaze at the mirror ahead of you, staring at nothing.

The day's events play through your mind unintentionally.

Your mom. She didn't even check on you or say bye. You were used to it but that didn't necessarily mean you like it. You don't mind her not watching over you, but your sister was a different story. Cupcake's still young, she needs the love and guidance of a mother. And since your father isn't around, she needed to do more than just eat what you give her and sleep.

You understand that she's still healing over your father, but she wasn't even trying to support you two. You could manage the money, you didn't mind, but a mother's love and moral support were needed for someone in Cupcake's age.

Then comes in the stranger. You don't know what it was that made you so attached to that phenomenon, but you were. His silent "I'm so sorry" rings in your ears. But he's a stranger! And, quite frankly, the fact that you are so engaged in the topic annoys you. A lot. You let out a long sigh.

You notice Joo open one eye and peep at you.

"What's wrong?" He asks, his tone hinting a touch of worry.

"Nothing," you murmur.

"Nothing?" He snorts. "You stare into the air for, like, forever and then huff out a storm and you're really gonna say nothing? Do you even know me, Sunny?"

"I thought you were asleep," you say, ignoring his question.

And he ignores your 'thought' in return.

"Is it your mom?" He says, his voice diminishing.

"No," you lie, lifting your head off of Joo. "Forget it, I really don't wanna talk about it."

"You sure?" He asks.

You nod slowly in reply.

"Fine," he shrugs, standing up as well.

You walk towards the classroom door to open it but Joo's voice causes you to turn back around to face him, and you stagger back as he's moved closer to you.

"Fine," he repeats solemnly. "But... Are you free today?"

His eyebrows knit together, waiting patiently, eyes piercing into yours as he waits for an answer.

"Why?" You stutter back.

He sighs as his hands land on hips, still staring at you.

"Sang Hee," he slurs out. "It's obvious you're overthinking again." He touches your shoulder gently. "You need to cool off. And besides, we haven't really hung out in a while."

Your eyes shift to your feet, as you started to calculate.

Your sister didn't have any classes the next day, which meant you could go to sleep late, which also meant you could come home a bit late. You could move over some studying time since there were no exams close or any assignments you needed to submit urgently.

And you had to admit, it would be nice to breathe freely for a bit.

You glance back up slowly, only to find Joo still staring at you, concern pouring from his face. You nodded and whispered a small "OK". His features instantly calm down, eyebrows going back into place as a smile tugs on his lips.

"Good," he squeaks, still smiling.

He walks over to the door of the classroom, as you watch him with awe. You were definitely grateful to have someone like him in your life. If he wasn't there, you were sure you would be a tired girl, back bent working 24/7.

Students should be arriving now.

Sure enough, after a few seconds, the bell tingles, signalling the arrival of a student. The bell keeps jingling as more students march in, sounds of chatter echoing across Melody as students keep piling in. Bangs of drums, clashes of symbols, strums of guitars, and the 'hey's and 'hello's from teachers and students surrounds your ears.

Giggling, you and Joo's first students of the day enter your studio/classroom. You smile as Joo greets them. Soy skips towards you, her mood definitely a lot better. She grabs a chair and sits down, pulling out her practical book and placing it gently on the keyboard. You go towards her and she smiles.

"Well," you coax her. "Are you gonna keep smiling or talk?"

She turns toward you. "I did ignore them. I closed the door and practised. It worked so..." she trails on.

Your lips slightly turn down, a frown replacing your smile.

"Don't worry. I'll talk to them I promise," she smiles sweetly.

You find yourself softening as you sigh.

"How can I stay mad at you?"

Soy finishes her piece holding for three counts before letting go of the keys. She turns to you and smiles. You look at her for a few more seconds before breaking into a gentle grin.

"You weren't kidding," you snickered. "It did work."

She smiles again, opening her mouth to speak but gets cut off when the speakers ring across the rooms. Not breaking the routine, sounds of chatter erupt as students walk out of their classrooms and step out of Melody's.

"I will talk to them," Soy breaks through your observations. "I promise."

She packs her bag and walks out.

The first set of students gone.

The last bell of the day sounds at exactly 7 pm.

Yong Joo gets up from his seat as he waves students off. After the last of the students leave Melody's, Joo makes his way swiftly to Sang Hee's side, swinging an arm around her shoulder casually. She turns towards him, lifting one eyebrow up, questioning his affection.

"Well," he smiles. He slowly holds both her hands, looking at her. He really wanted her to have a break and decided it was best that they went wherever she wanted to go. He slowly brushes a few strands of hair from her face. "Where would my best friend want to go to cool off?"

She giggles.

"Anywhere," she says. Joo's smile drops slightly, raising his eyebrows to tell her to be a bit more specific. She sighs. "As long as it's quiet," she slipped one hand off Joo raising it to her chin and tapping on it rhythmically before looking at him again. "And where there's hot cappuccino."

Joo snickers. "Open or closed?" He questions her.

"Open."

Joo places his arms around Sang Hee's shoulders again.

"Open it is!" He laughs heartily. "And I know the perfect place."

"Oh?" She says, walking her way towards the light switches after closing the room's keyboards and piano up, Joo leaning on the doorway. "And where is that?"

Sang Hee closes the door and makes her way to the lobby, with Joo at her side.

"No telling," he chuckles.

As the two of them walk side by side, the speakers' beep, echoing through Melody's. After a few more seconds of the announcer fidgeting with the microphone, it blares. A booming voice produces itself.

"Sir Yong Joo, please be present at the office immediately."

The two look at each other, before Joo pats Sang Hee's back and mouths a 'be right back' before walking to the office. His footsteps seemed louder as the small music class was empty, except for the office, Joo walking and a suddenly insecure Sang Hee standing alone in the corner of the lobby.

Joo opens the door of the office to Melody's manager sitting on the office chair and her assistant doing something that had to do with stuffing papers inside a dusty file. The usually cheery atmosphere suddenly seems dark, and Joo feels a deep stupidity for his heartbeat slowly increasing its pace in his chest.

The woman in the chair, Ms Seo Joanne (the manager), looks up to face Joo. Joo gulps and then very meekly gasps, surprised at his own perception of the current situation. Ms Seo picks up a letter from her table, gesturing for Joo to come closer. She stands up and hands Joo the letter. And then smiles.

"Congratulations, Joo," she wishes cheerfully.

Joo thanks the manager and makes his way back to the door, opening and shutting it behind him slowly. He quietly rips the letter open, struggling with his shaking hands to do so. He looked through the paper inside, which was the envelope's only content. He reads through, a smile tugging at his lips.

He suddenly beams to himself before an urgency kicks him to show Sang Hee.

He paces towards Sang Hee, who was still standing there, looking through her phone. The moment she hears his footsteps, her ears slightly twitch and she slides the phone down her coat pocket, smiling as a cheery Joo makes his way to her.

He waves the letter in front of her face before she frowns.

"I can totally see what that is," she said, rolling her eyes.

She snatches the letter from his grasp, and brought it in front of her eager eyes, wanting to see what Joo was so excited about.

As she reads, the boy beside her taps the ground, clearly happy from what was in the envelope.

Sang Hee reads it, over and over. And smiles.

"Oh my god, I'm so happy for you!" She bellows, not taking her eyes away from the paper.

But her expression suddenly changes, so abruptly Joo thought she was physically knocked on her head. She looks up at Joo, a frown replacing his smile, concerned eyes replacing his bright, shining ones.

She exhales slowly.

"Sunny," Joo asks. "What's wrong?"

Sang Hee inhales sharply.

"I'm happy for you but," she looks at Joo with hurt eyes.

"But that means you're leaving me."

A/N: If you are confused, then I accomplished what I wanted to do. The chapter "Black" had some clues, but this one had some clues as well, even some foreshadowing. I want to update more and then follow a schedule even tho something in me knows that won't happen.

I really do try to write my best to create a good first impression on readers, because I really wanna get dedicated readers. I don't mind the reads ( I do but...) not as much as the readers. I want readers who are engaged in the story, so I will try my best to create a good one.

I truly do enjoy writing and jotting down ideas, I LUV IT!

Thank you guys for reading.

What are your thoughts on this chapter?

Please stay safe. Stay healthy and happy. Don't stress yourself.

LOVE YOU >x< ,
