Alec stood in the living room with the dining table divides between him and Liam. He took a step back whenever Liam want to take a step forward. He had a plate of food in his hand and he walked towards the dining table, placing the dish down. Alec eyed his every move with a scowled expression not liking where is this going. "I thought I made you some dinner for an apology. Noted I don't made them, I just packed it away but I hope you have a stomach for some Italian. Sit down, before the food gets cold." Liam announced and surprisingly he poured water into the glasses in front of him instead of wine.

Alec still hasn't move a bit and he stared at Liam's calm exterior. He might look like he is calm but inside his heart, who knows. Just like Alec pretended to stay calm in front of him, his chest is thumping with fear knowing that for now, he had to survive with him since he had lost his job. Liam looked up from his view and saw Alec is still standing few feet away from him. He trudge himself over slowly, taking small steps at a time. Alec took a few steps behind him as he approached.

"Hey, hey I'm not gonna hurt you, I promised." He whispered lifting his hand up for Alec to reach. Alec observed the gesture from his hand to his eyes and he saw remorse and guilt. Liam looked like a fear father trying to attach himself back to his son and Alec is the latter. Alec wanted to run, he wanted to hide but what good has it since he is trapped in this world he doesn't belong.

He felt a brick of wall behind him and he knew he is out of place to move. Liam had a smirk on his face when Alec is helpless against the wall. He took smaller steps towards him and Alec closed his eyes tight with his head tilted to the side fearing Liam want to hurt him again. Liam's heart broken when he saw Alec feared of him like he's a monster but he knew exactly he is one. He never could deserves Alec and he used trickery and forced to get Alec's heart.

He stood in front of Alec looking at him with guilt all over him. Alec had his body on the floor shivering in fright. Liam take a knee and slowly cupped Alec's cheek. He stroked lightly with his knuckles and Alec's breathe quicken upon the touch. "Alec." He whispered. "Please forgive me." Alec open his eyes wide in disbelief even though he heard those words too many times. He slowly turned his head towards Liam when he saw trickling tears fall on Liam's cheek.

Alec was clueless and he didn't know what to do. Part of him want to feel sorry for Liam but part of him don't. He knew well those tears doesn't meant anything and as soon as the monster comes back, Alec is finished. "I promised I'll changed. For you. For us. Look." He took out a piece of paper from his jeans pocket. It was folded into four times and he open every single fold till it became one piece of white paper with letterings on them. He showed to Alec and Alec took it with shaky hands and read the words carefully.

"Is it real?" He whispered as soon as he finished. He nodded excited when he saw a glimpse of hope in Alec's eyes. "I want to change for us. I don't want to hurt you Alexander. I meant what I said." He lifted Alec from the floor and they stood before each other. Alec still had the paper in his hands. The words indeed became a hope for something new.

"When did you register?" Alec asked. "About the day after I left. I was so embarrassed for what I did. I shouldn't have touch those things and let it out on you. I finished my four days in-treatment. I want to be someone you love, someone you could be proud of." He came forward closing the gap between them and this time Alec didn't budge. He looked at Liam and he had a smile on his face. Alec still hesitated to believe all of these are real. In his hand a slip of registration of Liam into rehab for his addiction and alcohol problem. For years he wanted this but now its in his hand, he felt surreal. He finally gave in, giving Liam another chances he deserved. He looked up to his blue eyes and small smile curved on his lips.

Liam cupped Alec's cheek before wrapping his hand behind Alec's neck and pulled him for a hug. He rested his nose on Alec's neck inhaling his scent. Alec still has his suit on and he looks nothing but a mess. Ruffles hair, swollen eyes with pale skin, Alec failed to see what others see when they told him that he is beautiful. He slowly wrapped his arm around Liam's waist and rested his chin on his shoulder. He felt Liam tugged his body closer and the hug became tighter. "I miss you." He whispered. Alec couldn't say a word instead he wrapped his arm tighter.

Liam pulled away from Alec's embraced and he leans to kiss him on his lips. Their lips touches softly and in one breath. Alec rested his forehead on Liam's and took a deep breath and exhaled it as a sign of relieve. Liam looked into Alec's eyes and his eyebrow crooked in questioned. Alec still had a frown on his face and he look dead tired. "What's wrong?" He asked. Alec looked into the blue orbs in front of him and forced a smile shaking his head hoping he could hide his problem but Liam can read him like a book. He knew well after all these years they have been living together, Alec can't lie to him.

"Alec tell me what's wrong? Are you sick?" He cupped both of Alec's cheek before placing the back of his palm on Alec's forehead to feel for his temperature. He wasn't cold or rather hot but just nice and warm. "I-I lost my job." He mumbled. He thought Liam would get angry and hurt him again for losing another job and this time is not Liam's fault but his own.

He wouldn't dare to look at Liam and had his gaze down on the floor. He was ready to be met by his knuckles or knees or anything but instead he was met by Liam's lips on his. He was shocked when he felt his lips locked into Liam and he didn't give in at first but eventually he did. Liam pulls back and a grin appeared on his face. "I'm so glad to hear that. I can have you by myself for now and we will try to find you a job later okay?" Alec frowned upon hearing his response and for once, he didn't expect Liam would be happy about it. He had a confused look plastered on his face and Liam tugged his hand towards the table.

"We talk about this later but first, lets eat. I'm starving." He pulled the chair out for Alec like a gentleman. Alec took the seat reluctantly and let Liam served him.

The dinner was nice, Liam and Alec managed to talk few words out. Mostly about what is happening to their lives but the conversation is a dead end. Liam asked Alec about what happened at the office and Alec told him the smallest details possible. He didn't want Liam to go and hurt Magnus for one, even though he wanted to punch that guy straight in the face. "If you're not comfortable working with your boss I could have someone replaced him, or teach him a lesson." Alec looked at Liam with a frightened expression and he want nothing but to hurt Magnus. "Liam you do no such thing, he has a son. It's not him, its just I'm not good at what I do, so better I quit before he fired me." Alec lied, he did the very best he could at the company and everyone knows. Even though he only been working for couple of months but he did an amazing job keeping Magnus in order. Liam shrugged and took another bite of his food.

 Alec showered right after dinner and found Liam on the bed scrolling through his phone. The light from his phone shine on his face while the room is dimmed only with the table light by the bed. He finished dress and he hesitated whether he should get on the bed or not. Things hasn't been like it used too and Alec find it hard to adjust. Liam saw the hesitation and he turned off his phone. "Do you want me to sleep on the couch?" He asked.

Alec couldn't believe what he just heard. He never imagined Liam would ask him that and maybe this time he would make a different. He would changed for good and maybe this time Alec should give him the last chance that he deserves. He shakes his head and trudge towards Liam on the bed. He saw the smile on Liam's face and he pulls the duvet along with the blanket off so he could get under it. He had only his white shirt and his briefs on while Liam had nothing on his upper body except for his black boxer.

Alec lay on his side with his back facing Liam and Liam on the other hand still sat up against the headboard. He heard him sighed and turned off the lamp, the whole room turned dark and Alec felt his heart thumping. He hated the darkness and even the smallest light could made his heart at ease. But then he felt a strong arm underneath his neck pulling him. He let his body turned and fall on his back only to be met by Liam. He can't stop trembling since he is still afraid of his presence but surprisingly, Liam took him and let him lay on his chest. He rested his chin on Alec's head and exhaled a breath deeply. "Much better." Liam muttered. Alec slowly wrapped his arm around Liam's torso and they both fell asleep. 

Alec woke up next day alone in the bed. He looked around the room for Liam but the apartment is empty, dead silence. He lifted his body and put both of his legs down before he stretched himself. "Liam?" He called but no answer. He walked out from the room and saw plates on the table. He lifted the covers and saw pancakes with notes by the side under the long stem rose. He smiled thinking how sweet Liam is and how his effort on winning Alec back. He picked the note and read what Liam wrote.

Darling, I have business with my father, will be back tonight for dinner. Help yourselves some breakfast made from the heart. The rose is for you. One for everyday kiss I miss.

Alec snickered after he read the notes. He sniffed the rose and went to the fridge. Liam remembers how Alec loves blueberry pancakes and he made it just for him. He wonders how he didn't hear him rumbling in the kitchen. When he looked at the watch, it shown already almost eleven in the morning. He never knew how he could slept that long.

He took his shower after he had the delicious pancakes and wore a nice clothing for his journey today. He promised himself he wanted to get him a job before he went home today. Maybe he could surprised Liam for that. He took his files and headed out.
