About fifteen minutes later, Y/N was freshly showered and dressed again. His match against Duke Hudson received quite a positive reaction from everyone backstage. The producers were very happy with how everything turned out and the way the two sold everything made it even more convincing. For now though, Y/N took a can of soda and sat down on a nearby equipment case to relax and watch the rest of the Pay-Per-View. Or so he thought when his phone rang and he saw that Tegan wanted to chat. So instead of letting the welsh girl wait, he immediatly answered her video call and was greeted by her smile.

Tegan:" Good evening."

Y/N:" Hi there, Tegan. I assume you're all still watching?"

Tegan:" We are, but Johnny turned down the volume enough so we can talk."

Y/N:" Great to hear that. I just showered and everything, so I'm prepared."

Tegan:" Good, because your match...was awesome!"

Her excitement immediatly brought a smile to his face as well. Y/N knew Tegan would support him, but hearing her opinion about his return was really making him fuzzy inside.

Tegan:" I swear I was surprised when you went out there and just shut Duke up. He had it coming after everything he said though."

Y/N:" I can only agree on that. Nobody gets away with that."

Tegan:" I know, right? And luring him into the Diamond Cutter like that was a smart move too. Very stealthy."

Y/N:" I'm full of surprises. You should see it when I'm going longer than ten minutes."

Tegan giggled and leaned back in her seat before taking a sip from her drink. She was really glad Y/N could finally return to what he loved doing, but she was also a little jealous. She wanted to come back as well, but she didn't get the green light just yet.

Y/N:" I'm sure rehab will get you back into action soon. You're making great progress and with one more thorough evaluation coming, you should be back soon as well."

Tegan:" I hope so. Being sidelined always sucks. How did you manage that?"

Y/N:" I have Roy, then my landlady Susan and all of you as my friends. I mean c'mon, being around people who support you is already awesome. Hunter and William checked up on me every now and then as well to know about my progress which also helped a lot."

Y/N chuckled to himself when Tegan ran a hand through her hair at the same time. It was great to see the two become closer, eventhough the distance separated them at the moment. Then again, they would be around one another again very soon.

Tegan:" When you come back, we should go out. Maybe to a Cafe or something."

Y/N:" Sounds like a great idea. It all depends on when you're free."

Tegan:" I'll text you about that soon. I just know it will be mint."

Y/N:" Great! I'm already looking forward to it."

Tegan:" But don't be a melt about it haha."

Y/N:" Hey, I'm not a coward haha. I'll be there for sure."

Tegan:" I know haha. I trust you more than enough to be honest. I'm just excited. Nothing against Johnny and Candice, but their child is due soon."

Y/N:" I get you. It will be much more turbulent around the house then. Should I feel bad for you?"

Tegan:" No, you ninny hahaha."

Sharing a laugh with each other once more, Tegan and Y/N had a great feeling about the coming weeks and everything they would plan to do with one another. Maybe Y/N could build her back up for the final stretch of the recovery. It was then that Dakota walked by and let herself be known.

Dakota:" Hey Tegan! Look at you being comfy."

Tegan:" It's my usual spot, just with a blanket around me. Your point?"

Dakota:" My point iiiis...I need a moment to talk to Y/N about a little something."

Y/N:" And what would that be?"

Dakota:" Not now, buddy. But it's important and I can't spoil it."

Tegan:" Oh...well, I guess I can free him up. But make sure you don't break him or anything!"

Dakota:" Easy, sis. Y/N will be fine. I promise."

Y/N:" I feel very vulnerable now."

Tegan:" Alright, Y/N. I will text you again later. You and Dakota play nice over there."

Y/N:" We will. I may not know what she's up to, but I hope I'll return alive."

Dakota:" I'm not gonna kill you!"

Tegan giggled and said her goodbye to her friends and with the call over, Y/N put his phone in his pocket and finally followed Dakota.

Y/N:" Why are we going outside?"

Dakota:" Privacy."

Y/N:" For what?"

Dakota:" Geez, do you always ask so many questions? Just be patient for once, Y/N."

Rolling his eyes, he just followed along to the outside of the arena. Apparently what Dakota had to say couldn't wait long enough, so that was why she suddenly interrupted the call.

Dakota:" Alright...it's about Tegan."

Y/N:" Is there a problem with her?"

Dakota:" No, there isn't. But before we travelled here to Portland, I had a talk with her. A serious one."

Y/N:" Keep going."

Dakota:" I asked her about you and all that jazz. Feelings and all that, y'know?"

Y/N:" Yeah, I figured as much. What did she say?"

Dakota:" Well...apparently she loves you already and...when she brought up the Cafe thing, that was also her idea, because she wanted to be alone with you for once."

Y/N:" Hold up now right here, Kota. Are you sure you didn't have an energy drink too much?"

Dakota:" Dude, I swear Tegan said it like that. Thanks to all the rehab sessions and your time hanging out with her recently, she realized you're becoming more than a friend to her."

Y/N:" This better not be a prank, Kota. I take things with Tegan very seriously."

Dakota:" Bro, this is as real as a Dakota Kai can get. I know this is a lot to take in and all, but please...be good to her. As a friend, a co-worker and a possible boyfriend, okay? I trust you, so do the others and I know how much it would mean to Tegan, if you're there for her every step of the way."

Y/N slowly, but surely got convinced now as he heard Dakota explain everything to him. To hear that one of his best friends actually was in love with him was a major shock honestly, but there was also a big relief in it. Truth be told, he hoped that it was time to give this a shot nonetheless and he returned the feelings for her in one way or another.

Y/N:" Okay okay, I got it now, Kota. You've convinced me enough."

Dakota:" Good. You're a great guy, we all know that for sure. So when things get serious, don't mess it up, okay?"

Y/N:" I promise everything will be okay between us. Once everything is set in motion, I'll be there for Tegan as best as I can."

Dakota:" Awesome. Now come here, you devil haha."

A friendly hug beteeen them followed to keep up the good mood for the rest of the night. Knowing Y/N, Dakota was very sure that something beautiful would come out of that sooner rather than later.
