Reese's POV:

It has been a few days since we had been found by Serena and her mate, Eugene. The warriors chased right behind him. Including Iris's other friends, Kace and Mela.

They helped me carry my unconscious mother and family.

I on the other hand carried Keegan, and a drained Iris.

Once we reached the pack house, my doctors took my little family and mate to the infirmary, treating them for their severe wounds. I quickly took off the ring that Odette controlled me with. With her being dead, she can't control me any longer. I was finally free from her grasp.

Now?

I was sitting besides my sleeping mate.

My heart thumping for the results.

Odette may have been eliminated, but the problem still stayed between me and Iris. The one where she found her naked on me, and her not believing me.

My hand was tucked into hers, the slightest touch causing small tingles.

I don't know what I did to deserve a mate like her. Even though I've hurt and pushed her away in the beginning, she still came barging through my walls like nothing.

She found me.

She saved me.

And saved everyone that I had tried to save for the past few years.

"I love you..." I whispered, squeezing her hand tighter.

Her sweet scent of lavender engulfed me, and made me dizzy with it. I couldn't describe how I felt for her, but I knew that I would spend the rest of my life to keep that beautiful smile she had on her face.

Then the strangest thing happened.

Iris's hold on my hand squeezed me back, and almost made me stood up from my chair to panic. I didn't think it was real.

Her pained groan made my wolf, Luka, perk his ears up, his attention now fully on his surroundings. Especially on our mate.

She parted her eyelids, revealing her gorgeous blue eyes.

"I love you too," she smirkingly said.

I released her hand, stumbling out of my seat in disbelief. We just confessed our love for one another. I could feel a tint pink covering my cheeks, "Y-You heard me?"

She nodded, a pained smile gracing her lips.

I quickly sat back down, my brows scrunching up in concern, "Are you okay? Do you need water? Should I call a nurse? I think I should, I mean-"

"Shh, I'm fine. Besides ... I think we need to talk about something. Odette is dead ... but that doesn't change the fact of what happened. I'm willing to listen, so can you please explain before I get your ass and beat it?" she growled out towards the end.

I let out a nervous bark, but stopped once I saw her pitch black eyes.

My face turned serious, my emotions hopefully conveying how I felt, "I swear to you, that I did not cheat on you. I had just finished showering, and when I came out wearing my boxers, Odette suddenly came in and launched herself onto me."

"Then why did I smell her arousal?!" she snarled, fangs flashing.

I could feel myself getting shy at this, "I think she could have used a dildo beforehand to cause her to smell like that. It honestly wasn't pleasant and smelled like a fish."

Iris's eyes fogged over, her wolf speaking to her.

A few minutes later, she sucked in a breath, "Okay, I believe you. My wolf, Wasabi told me. I'm sorry for lashing out like that."

I nod, smiling.

Finally we made up.

Now the only thing I had to do was properly introduce her to my mother and father, and last but not least, my younger brother.

Iris's POV:

"Are you positive that you can walk around now?" Reese asked, his hands reaching for me just in case I tripped over or fell.

I chuckled reassuringly, "I'm fine. Don't worry. Let's go see how they're doing now."

He nods, leading me to his parents hospital rooms that were shared with his younger brother. The pack hospitals were amazingly enormous, with combined rooms.

The doctor had told me that I was alright to be moving around, but I had to be careful to not open any of my stitches.

Pacing slowly to my mates parents and little brothers room number, we give it a knock and heard the mutters or, 'Come in.'

I give a sideways glance at Reese, showing him my nervousness.

He reassures me with a nudge, showing me his support. I swallowed the lump in my throat as he reached a hand out and turned the knob with ease.

A nurse bowed his head as we entered, leaving quickly to give us our privacy.

Reese's family's heads lifted upwards to stare at us, their injuries already healing. Keegan, Reese's little brother was playing with his new stuffed animal.

I took a step forward and cleared my throat, "Um... Hello. My name is Iris, I'm Rees- I mean Daniel's mate. It's so nice to finally meet you guys under ... uh ... good terms."

Reese chuckled from behind me, one of his arms sliding around my waist to pull me closer.

My body flushed with warmth, the bond pulling us together and celebrating for what we've been waiting for so long. Accepting each other.

Finally, the beautiful woman smiled at me, tears pricking the edges of her eyes.

She motioned me over from her bed, and as I timidly got closer, she wrapped her arms around me and hugged me.

I hugged her back, her voice expressing her glee, "Oh gosh, you're so precious. I can't believe my son has already found his mate. Sweetie, you better treasure her because I didn't keep you in my stomach for nine months for you to break someone's heart."

I could see from the corner of my eye Reese shyly rubbing the back of his head, nodding for his mother's required terms.

She let go me slowly, introducing herself, "My name is Camryn but you can call me mom."

I almost teared up at her words, "Mom..."

It's been so long since I've called anyone mom.

She nods, pulling me in for another hug before letting me go.

I turned around, facing his father. He had a tired look in his eyes, but still had a presence of a retired and old alpha.

He reached a hand for me to shake, and I shook it gently, as he spoke, "Shape up my dumb son for me yeah? He does stupid things sometimes. My name is Jehvon. Like my sexy mate said, you can call me Dad."

I saw Camryn roll her eyes playfully at him while he gave a wink.

I let out a bark of laughter, nodding.

I back away and let the two old mates talk, going over to where Keegan sat. He had a dull look on his face, while Reese tried to speak to him.

I sit by his side, Reese pulling me close.

Concerned, I ask, "Keegan, are you okay sweetie?"

He nods, tearing up, "Is the ... mean lady gone? She won't wurt me again wright?"

My heart breaks at how scared he sounded, Reese tighten his arms around me, "No, Kenny. She won't hurt you anymore," Reese answered for me.

"Promise?" He asked in a small voice.

We both nod, causing Keegan eyes to light up.

"Okay! Um ... it's nice to meet you Iris. My name is Keegan!"

I laugh, "I know. It's nice to meet you again, Keegan."

His innocent eyes widen, dilating in realization, "You're my brothers mate right? You're so pwretty!" He said, his voice rising.

Reese cocks a brow, "Yeah, she is. And she's mine."

I roll my eyes at Reese's possessiveness.

"I can't believe brother has a mate. He's always so swerious. Like this," Keegan says, frowning and mimicking his older brother.

I chuckle, Reese pouting.

Keegan starts giggling, showing off his teddy bear in the change of the subject.

We all laugh at how adorable he was being, and ended up staying in the hospital until evening fell.

Time passed and due to Iris and I being mates, we finally merged the pack into one. With me being Alpha and her being my Luna. Iris insisted on not having the Alpha title as it was too draining for her mental health. She wanted the Luna position and enjoyed being called Luna.

At long last, the pack was at peace.
