Backstory:she was abandoned by her family at 4 years old because she killed her father in a fit of rage. She also has one normal arm and one devil arm. She was then raised by Salem and can control almost every Grimm. She then stopped a bank heist when she was 17 and Ozpin saw this. So he bought her to Beacon. Valkyrie is also a trusted member of Salem's inner circle. (Based a bit off Nero from DMC)
