He tilt his head as his crimson eyes scanning over the list, open his mouth with a small confusion. "Why bathroom?" He cross his arms, leaning on the roller chair lazily.

"Why?" Neesa shot him back with ultimate side-eye. "Business in bathroom especially for a woman like me is fragile matter."

"So is that mean none of my business?" He replied with frown appear on his face, flicker his fork tongue with unpleasant distrust in the air. "How can I trust you?"

"How can I trust you?" Neesa shot him back, but with cold tone. But sooner she regret it as the silence filled in the room, sighing in defeat as she hold her arm whenever she feel anxious. "Look I already let you stay here with the terms also. I don't ask money or charity to help me around the house, just don't make it hassle for me to deal with you."

His crimson eyes narrowly stare back at her before he look another way, before they could continue their conversation, there was a sudden knock which made Neesa jumped in surprised. At first she was anxious and scared that it might be unwanted stranger that would like to disturb her again like Mike, the crimson eyes laid on Neesa, noticing her body temperature start to drop down together with increasing blood-pumping. He approach Neesa side and wrap around herself with his tentacles to reassure her.

"Go check it, it's not a male." He ushered her to go meet the guest. "I'll get ready to stab if that person do anything funny."

"How do you know--?" Neesa fumbled as she was distracted by his sudden closeness. However, the tentacles push her forward nearly gave her stumble on the floor. "H-hey, wait, don't push me like that!"

"Trust me." He replied, flickering his fork tongue in annoyance. But as he still saw her figure tremble, his tone softened as he repeated again, "Trust me, Neesa."

Neesa eyes widen as he called her name softly, never thought she would get encouragement from a stranger who murdered somebody right in front of her doorstep last night. Clenched his tentacle one time, she take a deep breath and exhale calmly as she went to the doorstep, looking by the peephole, meanwhile he hid himself by the kitchen as he leaning himself to the wall so he can still see Neesa figure by the door.

"Neesa? Dearie?" A familiar woman's voice can be heard beyond the door. Neesa breathes out relaxingly, relieved that it is someone she knows.

"Oh hey, Deva." Neesa greet her as she open the door, greet the female guard of her apartment she currently live.

"I just checked my phone this morning and notice you called me last night?" Deva said. Worriness in her face as she show Neesa the miss call that made by last night. But then as soon Deva saw Neesa bruise face, she immediately put down her phone and went closer to inspect Neesa wound. "Oh my god, what happen to you...is this because what happen last night? Oh I am sorry Neesa, if only I did not left my phone during patroling.."

Neesa wince as she finally realize how much pain does the wound inflicted upon her all this time, but she just chuckled awkwardly. "It's okay...it won't happen again."

"No but really, what happen?" Deva insisted that Neesa explain her fully. "Violence should not happen under my care, especially on you Neesa."

Neesa arrived at this apartment all by herself last year, without any relatives nearby. Plus, she was under 20, with no guardian present during that time. As a single mother, Deva has been worrying about young Neesa's safety.

"A neighbour name Mike come and....assaulted me last night." Neesa reply as she hold her arms, still feeling uncomfortable just remembering it. "....I try to fight back."

"...did he...'did it' ?" Deva ask with eyes widen in horror, awaiting Neesa to answer. But she sigh relief when Neesa shake her head.

"...I was knocked out during retaliation..I was about to faint..but I saw someone saved me." Neesa explained, hold Deva's hand over her shoulder to ease her. " I don't know who saved me, but I saw he take Mike away after put me safely on the couch."

"I wish I could say 'thank you' to him..." Neesa's statement made him, the monster in disguise, stunt on the spot where he was still hiding. He glanced at Neesa; he could not see her expression from his point of view. "But anyway, I am sorry for worrying you."

"No Neesa, I am the one who should be sorry...I let this happen to you." Deva face crestfallen as she hold Neesa bruised face tenderly like a mother toward her precious daughter. "You know what, I will take a break from taking night shift today, I will be spend tonight together with you. Can't let my baby girl being harrassed again."

Neesa's eyes widen as her panic suddenly arises. Hearing Deva's sudden announcement, her eyes dart toward him several times as she quickly makes a statement to stop Deva from crashing herself into staying with her tonight. "N-no, Deva. I don't want to trouble you by taking care of me tonight. It's alright!"

"What do you mean it's alright, dearie? You literally nearly got assaulted last night, we don't know if the same person Mike will ever disturb you again." Deva try to be reasoned back toward secretly panic Neesa.

"T-that's because...because.." Neesa stuttered as her heart thump loudly, trying to countered back. "Because I called my friend to come here last night!"

The surrounding fell into silence by Neesa statements, even the guy behind the kitchen wall open his eyes wide, gape by her out of nowhere excuse. Who is her friend again? He thought thoroughly. Wait, could it be, him? He thought as he point himself.

"Friend?" Deva confused by her statement, feeling unconvinced by Neesa excuse, she began pressing it deeper. "Dear, no need to make excuse just because you think it might trouble me."

"Wait, I really mean it! My friend he is here right now!" Neesa exclaimed panically as she hold Deva's strong shoulders, trying her best not to make the worrisome female guard from taking another step into her door. "Isn't that right, bro!?"

There was a silence in the house, Neesa heart thumping hard right now as she make eyes contact with him from the door entrance.

A moment of silence later, Neesa breath relief as eventually he peek his head out from the kitchen entrance wave with a frown and confusion in his expression.

However Deva still restless even after seeing his appearance, looking back at Neesa with a raise brow. "Why is he half naked?"

"...."

After going through such hectic discussion, Deva relented and decide to back off as she side-eyes toward Neesa's - so-called friend. "I will be investigating Mike whereabouts meanwhile, call me immediately if anything happen."

Neesa give Deva a weary smile as she glad to finally end conversation between her and the overprotective female-guard. With a final short farewell, Neesa slowly close the door as she turn back, drained as she  went sliding down herself to sit on the floor.

"You look rather exhausted compared to before." He walk toward Neesa tired figure as he crouch right next to her, "There are soo many solution you could have done, but you decide to use this way instead?"

"I expected you're much more practical than this." He replied in mocking tone which slowly igniting Neesa's irritation over him. The handsome creature in disguise tilt his head as he gaze over Neesa frowned expression and then chuckled with his deep tone voices. "A question."

"What?" Neesa replied as she huffed, waiting perhaps another nonsense question out of him.

"What is a friend?" He tilt his head again, his question bring puzzle over her face, there was no subtle change in his expression as if he really indeed does not know what is a 'friend' to begin with.

"Friend...is a person you want to spent together and have fun together."

"....can friend be trusted?"

"There are many kind of friendship....but a friend is always supposed to be a person that you are comfortable enough to put your trust into." Neesa then said softly. "...is that enough?"

After a short silence, a sudden purr rumbling loudly which made Neesa look up at him, the crimson eyes that she found quite creepy was now stare over her like a content feline. He approach her as he picked her up easily in his arms. Ignoring her surprised gasp, he proceeding bring her to the couch where both of them sit right next to each other closely. Taking note that he is still naked, she try her best only look at his face rather than down there instead.

"Friend..."As he mutters, the purr getting louder than before which made Neesa unable to listen what was he saying any further properly. "....together."

"What did you said again?" Neesa ask him again, clearly confuse by his demeanor right now. She then flustered when he glance at her back, lean his forehead closer to hers. "W-what..?"

"Nothing...I just want to be 'friend' with you..I can't?" He said while still has his gaze on her pair of hazel brown eyes, purring pleasantly to be able stare at it peacefully.

"I-it's so out of nowhere...." and also cringe, she secretly whisper in her heart while her face cover with light blush. Beside, the way he act right now is definitely not how a friend should treat each other. If she try to correct him right now, would it be even more troublesome to explain him? She sighed as she push him away by his shoulders. "Anyway..."

As she pushes him away, something inside him feels squeeze, and her response makes him feel unpleasant. But regardless, he still listens to what she's trying to say next.

"Thinking about the way I try to make excuse with Deva, she might put suspicion on you since she will never find Mike." I said while rubbing my arm in anxious manner. "Beside she hardly believe me when I said you are my friend."

"If there is none, then we will make it one." He replied with a soft hiss, leaning his shoulder over her.
