"(G/N), you're safe now-"

I wake with a start. Gems don't need to sleep, what am I doing? Whatever, all I know is I've had some crazy dream. No surprise, really, taken by Jasper, confronted by the Diamonds themselves.

"(G/N), are you listening to me? I said we have a mission soon! Jasper is trying to get those corrupted gems again and we need to stop her!"

Pearl? I thought she was poofed? Where's Garnet? Amethyst?

"Steven!"

Pearl looked confused as I jumped up off of the couch I was lying on and ran out the door, looking out onto the beach. He was... fine? He wasn't trying to hide with Peridot or anything?

"Where's Peridot?"

"She's with Lapis, let's go! We don't have much time!"

I look down at my form, checking if I was how I remembered being before I woke up. As I looked back to Pearl, I realized that I was indeed different. Where there was a diamond on my attire, there was instead a star. Where my gem was located was a half-star cutout, and I all around felt different.

"I'm a Crystal Gem?"

Amethyst burst with laughter as she leaned against me, an arm putting more pressure down than comfortable. She wiped a tear away before looking at me. She then fell to her knees, rolling over in uncontrollable laughter, more tears finding their way out.

"OF COURSE! HAHA-"

"Amethyst, now is not the time. (G/N) was out of it when she woke. She's obviously confused."

Garnet out a hand down on my shoulder, comforting me. I stared at her in confusion. Why wasnt she attacking me? Was it really just a dream?

"Pearl, she needs to sit this one out. Steven will take care of her. (G/N), don't tell him we went on a mission. Please."

Garnet's shades seemed to shine in some kind of light as she said the final word, letting go and turning around. She smiled casually at me as the gems warped to wherever they were going.

"Pearl-! Oh, (G/N)! You're up!"

I turned to look at Steven who, in return, tackled me with a bear hug. I laughed before sitting down on the floor. Steven sat in my lap, giggling before I remembered the Rubies.

"What's going on?"
