When I reform, I seem to be in a place with many other captured gems. I can't help but to scramble backwards. There have to be hundreds of them. They're all in bubbles, but I don't know why anyone would do this.
"Woah, it's okay! Don't freak out, I'm supposed to keep you a secret. The other's don't know you're out."
As I look around the room, I see Steven. He's here on his own, but I can't help but to feel I'm being watched by another gem. I look around more and realize that it's probably all of the gems inside the bubbles.
"What do you want with me?"
Steven smiles and sits in front of me, searching for words.
"I wanted to say sorry. My mom was doing what she thought was best, and now I have to carry that."
I look at him in confusion. Why should he be sorry for that?
"Don't be sorry, you didn't do it."
I hug my knees and bury my face. I suddenly feel a hand on my back. As I look up, I see Steven still in front of me, but how could he touch my back?
"I know how you feel... sort of."
This voice is nasally and higher than Steven's. As I turn I see a peridot. She is short. I stand and look at her in confusion. Isn't she supposed to be with Jasper? I remember overhearing the diamonds say they were going to assign Jasper to her.
"I know what you're thinking. 'Peridot, where are your limb enhancers!? Why have they taken them from you and left you defenseless!? How could they be so... so... cruel?' Don't worry, (G/N), I accept them now."
How does she know me, but none of the others do? Does she remember me from Homeworld?
"Let's introduce you to earth!"
Peridot's tone of sarcasm and feigned hurt disappears and gives way to excitement. Her eyes are full of stars and she laughs almost maniacally.
"Good idea, Perry!"
Before I know it, Steven has my arm and is dragging me up a flight of stairs. They both laugh and exit the large room before they stop. They both seem to regret their decisions as the group of irregular gems see us exit through a magical door.
"Steven, again!?"
Pearl stomps her way over and Peridot runs in front of us, Steven's grip tightens around my wrist and he starts to sweat. I see the look on his face and swing him up onto my shoulders. I grab Peridot and make a run for it. We slam the door open to freedom and Steven screams as he nearly hits his head on the doorframe.
"Wait, (G/N), go baaaackkk!!"
Peridot just laughs as we continue to run across the beach. I jump up onto a sidewalk, scaring a girl on a primitive mode of transportation into the street. A larger vehicle screeches to a halt as the human inside pokes his head out of the window.
"I'm the mayor, don't you know not to ride your bike in front of me?"
Peridot laughs and whispers something about a Mayor Dewey to Steven, who laughs. What even is a Mayor Dewey?
"Sorry, Mayor Dewey!"
The girl on the "bike" hurries and crosses the street. She hops off of it and takes off her helmet, letting her light blonde locks fall to her shoulders.
"Let's go to the Big Donut!"
I run to the girl as Steven shouts some more.
"Follow that Sadie!"
As she unlocks and holds the door open, Peridot falls out of my grasp and onto the tiled floor. Steven holds onto my head, covering my eyes, and an annoyed voice calls out from the back of the building.
"Steven, we just opened, how can you already be inside-"
