Afterwards, I reminded him that he promised to ring his parents and mine. It was the most difficult conversations we have ever had.

His parents wanted to speak with and meet me and Matthew said "I am sorry Mum and Dad but I can't have you meet my wife ever. But I will bring our children to see you."

"Why can't we see her?" They wanted to know.

"It's too difficult. " he answered

"I am sorry mum and dad I got to go now, but could you please let Mark and Rose know?"

He hung up then "You know that they're going to try see you? I will try shield you as much as I can but I don't know how good I will be."

"If my parents come, you'll have to go to your parents or something."

We then rang my parents and let them know. The hardest question we got is "Did you marry the child's father?"

To which Matthew answered "Yes, she did."

Matthew didn't count on his sister Rose. Mark couldn't careless and his parents understood enough to leave us be. But Rose, as soon as she heard, jumped on a flight, and caught a taxi to our place.

Rose knocked on the door and I answered. When I saw that it was Rose, I fainted. Matthew saw me start to fall and ran over to catch me just in time. He carried me to our room and closed the door.

Rose's view

My parents called and let Mark and I know that Matthew had gotten married.

Matthew! I didn't even know he was going out. He showed no signs of even having a girlfriend when I moved in with my brother's.
Mark said that he was told about him being engaged a couple of months ago and could not care who it was.

I was free for the next week, and I knew that I must know her... I was sure that we would be friends.

Mark has been with a few girls, the only one we ever liked was Karen, but he was just as heartless with her as the rest. He ignored all our advice not to let her go, but no that's what he did.

Matthew however, kept losing his girlfriend's to Mark, so I was surprised that he was married and in a short space of time too.

I organised a plane flight up the same day we were told but the next available flight was tomorrow midday. I took it. I then caught a taxi to their address that I got off Mum and Dad and knocked on their door.

To my surprise a very pregnant Karen opened the door and turned white and started falling, next thing Matthew was there catching her as if she was his treasure. He picked her up and carried her to a bedroom and shut the door.

I had followed them inside in shock.
"What are you doing here Rose?" Matthew asked.

"I had to meet your wife " I say.

"Did you ever wonder why I didn't want the family to meet her?"

"No, I didn't, I thought Mum was kidding "

"Well now you know, what are you going to do?"

"Karen is your wife?" I ask astounded

"Yes" he affirmed "She's my wife. "

"But how? And why is she so pregnant? Going by how far along she is you can't be the father , so what's going on?"

Matthew sighed "I guess someone has to know, but you have to promise that you will defend the secret and her with your life."

I think about it and nod. "I promise "

Matthew taking me at my word explained "It's not my baby"

I reel in shock as he then continues looking at me "It's Mark's baby."

I feint then from shock. Matthew has married Karen to bring up Mark's baby....no wonder he doesn't want his family to know who he married. It's weird.
