I answered the door to see a woman standing at it. Big blonde hair, blue eyes, and a red evening gown.
"Kyoko Kirigiri...you wanted to see me?"
"Ah yes, please come in Jessica," I said as warmly as I could muster. She smiled devilishly and sat on the bench in my room. I pulled up a chair and sat across from her.
"Jessica, I've asked you here today to...get to know you. Seeing we'll be working together in future scenes." She nodded.
"As you know, i'm Jessica Albright. I've been acting since I was 7 and i'm the star of this show. I was so fortunate to receive this role even during trying circumstances." She spoke with such confidence. I could definitely tell she was quite sure of herself. To most it probably came off as strong, but to me it came off as rude. She didn't use the big fake smile everyone else did. Her's was more...secretive. I could tell she was hiding something. Usually, I can read people like a book but she seemed different. I couldn't quite tell what her real personality was. I knew the one she was showing me was a fake one, that was quite easy to grasp.
"What do you mean by trying circumstances," I clarified. This definitely was the fault in her statement. She broke her calm facade for just a moment, before putting her hand over her heart.
"Unfortunately, the girl who got this role committed suicide right before filming started. It is very sad, but I hope I can make her proud by stepping into the role." She stated, wiping a tear from her eye. She really was a good actress. Every police file I read said the girl was brutally murdered, there was evidence of a struggle. She couldn't have committed suicide. I resisted the urge to smirk. It was clear she knew more than she was saying. I knew she wouldn't tell me much more, but I had to ask one more question.
"What was this lovely girl's name?" I asked with fake sympathy. Hopefully she couldn't see through me that easily.
"Her name was Katie Innings, she was a dear friend to me. I miss her terribly..." Jessica answered solemnly. I nodded.
"Thank you for your time Jessica, I hope we can get to know each other." I said, shaking her hand. She smiled her twisted grin again and left quickly. I sighed and dug around in a drawer until I found what I was looking for. My phone. I checked my photo album and smiled, I had the entire conversation on video. That should help immensely. I then checked the time, 10:00 pm. Makoto and I should get back to the hotel. I packed up my things and knocked on his door. He answered immediately, backpack over his shoulder.
"Ready to go?" I asked.
"Yup!" He replied happily. We both walked out into the lobby when a small voice stopped us.
"Kyo! It's me!" Ally yelled, running at full speed towards us. She jumped into my arms and gave me a tight hug. I smiled and hugged her back.
"Who's this lovely lady?" Makoto asked as Ally let go of me.
"This is Ally, my costume assistant. Ally this is my roommate Makoto."
"Hi Ally, it's nice to meet you," Makoto said with a huge grin. Ally smiled widely and dove into his arms as well. He stumbled back on impact but immediately wrapped his arms around her.
"If you're Kyo's friend you can be mine too!" She exclaimed with excitement. He nodded vigorously.
"I'd love to!"
"Yay! Thank you Koto! I've got two new friends now!" She yelled, her hazel eyes glimmering. We both smiled and walked out the door with Ally trailing behind us. We hailed a cab and waved goodbye, heading back to our hotel.

"She's only nine!?!"
"Shush! You're going to wake the neighbors!"
I was just explaining Ally's situation to Makoto and telling him about my conversation with Jessica. We listened to it on video as well. I took some notes in my pocketbook and started to yawn. I glanced tiredly at the clock, 1 am. Before I knew it my head hit my pillow as I slowly started to drift into a restless sleep.
I batted my eyes open remembering Makoto and I had to film today. I tried to get up but something was holding me down. I looked over to see Makoto's arms wrapped around me protectively. I blushed deeply and sighed. I'd rather be late than wake him up, it was equivalent to waking up a sleeping baby. I settled back into bed and cuddled into his chest. It felt so good. I never wanted to leave. A few minutes later I felt him stir. I gently touched his cheek.
"Good morning," I said softly. He opened his eyes and smiled at me.
"Good morning~" He replied drowsily. I leaned in and kissed his forehead. Now that woke him up. He sprung up in surprise, almost knocking me over. I laughed seeing him so flustered.
"C'mon you goof, we're going to be late!"
We arrived at the studio, both a blushing mess from this morning. Beth greeted us immediately.
"You two are late! Please study these lines and be on set in five!" She exclaimed as she sprinted away. We both rushed to our dressing rooms to get ready and read over our lines. As we walked out I heard murmuring coming from Jessica's dressing room. I turned to Makoto and put my finger to his lips. He nodded as we quietly crept down the hall. I put my ear against the door and listened.
"She asked me all these questions. It was a drag, let me tell you."
"Listen Jess, you have to get on her good side. She's trying to get you in jail!"
"Yes Bethany I know. I'm trying but she's sooo annoying. She's all up in my business. We just need to keep smiling and ignore her and her little boyfriend. We can't let her find out."
"Yes ma'am...I understand. If she found out the truth, we'd all go to jail."
"Mhm, I wouldn't want to be in prison for slaughtering that little bitch Katie. Now that would be a catastrophe~" Makoto and I gasped and stared at each other in shock. I knew something was off about this girl. I know what I have to do to make her confess. It's time to get serious.
