Jerome's P.O.V

"Kitty" She said softly

"Kitty? That's a pretty name" I said to her

"Thank you" She said politely

"So what happened to you?" I asked

She froze for a moment before tears started falling down her face.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt your feelings" I said

"no its ok, its just.......I want to ask you something" She said a little louder than before.

"Ok what is it?"

"Why? Why would you help me? I'm just a stupid Hybrid" She said hanging her head

"It doesn't make a difference whether your a hybrid or not" I said as I lifted her head with my hand.

"The rest of the world thinks it does" She said looking away from me

We sat for a few minutes before I broke the silence.

"So why were all the cuts on your arms in the shape of names?" I asked

She sighed and said "Because they are names of people I use to know, some of them were hybrids like me but they are all dead now and the rest of the names are X-boyfriends."

I looked down at her arm and read a few of the names in my head. Ender, Sam, Infinity, and Bublez were probably some of her friends and I assume that some of her old boyfriends were Ty, Adam, Shine (yes that is Einshine's real name), Jason, Quentin, Dakota, Jordan, Taylor, Martin, and Seto. (now would be the time to say DAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMM GURL!)

I was shocked at the number of names and only stopped reading when I heard crying. I looked up at Kitty and saw her face covered in tears. I Wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close. She turned and cried into my chest while I rubbed small circles on her back. 

She cried for a while and then when she was done crying she let me hold her in my arms. I felt really strange, like my heart was beating a thousand times faster than normal.

When she finally pushed me away from her she looked at me and smiled before saying "Thank you, no one has ever cared about me as much as you have"

*timeskip of 1 year*

I walked through the forest with Kitty. We had become best friends over the year and I now knew many things about her. Including all the terrible things that happened to hybrids. I was incredibly nervous, why? because I was going to ask Kitty if she wanted to be my girlfriend.

We walked for a little while longer before we came to a small clearing in the forest.

"Kitty can I ask you something?" I said nervously

"Sure Jerome" She said

"Well we have been friends for a while now and I wanted to know if..." I gulped "If you wanted to be my girlfriend"

She stood there with a shocked look on her face for a second before she smiled and leaned forward and kissed me.

I closed me eyes and enjoyed the kiss until we had to break away for air.

"Does that answer your question?" She said laughing

I smiled "Yes" and I intertwined our hands as we walked home together.
