Jerome's P.O.V

I stared down at the dumpster.

"do i really have to?" I asked

"A bet is a bet" Mitch said smiling

I shruged and took a deep breath before jumping in and shouting "I JUST WANNA FIND TRUE LOVE IN A DUMPSTER!"

I heard Mitch laugh behind me.

I laughed too until my head banged into someone else's. What the heck I thought as I looked up only to be met with beautiful sparkling blue eyes. I had bumped into a girl but not a normal girl. This girl had cat ears and a cat tail. I stared in wonder at her. I thought all the hybrids had disappeared after the extermination. She gave me a frightened look before jumping out and running down another alleyway.

I sighed. But who could blame her, all hybrids had been supposedly killed by the government about ten years ago. I'm actually really surprised that she managed to not get caught living in the city.

"What the heck was that?" Mitch asked

"It was a hybrid" I said as he helped pull me out of the dumpster

"I thought they were all gone" He said

"Me too" I said looking off in the direction she ran in

"We should probably head home its getting late" Mitch said

"yea your right" I agreed and we headed home.

*time skip of 2 months*

I sat on my bed. I couldn't stop thinking about her. I don't know why but recently I felt like I had to go back. Like something was telling me I need to find her.

"SCREW THIS!" I shouted as I left and headed toward the same alleyway I first saw her in.

I walked down that alleyway and looked carefully. After a few minutes a saw a small bloody figure curled up and whimpering. I was about to leave whatever it was and give up when I saw that it had a tail and cat ears. My eyes widened and I quickly rushed over to her.

"OH MY GOSH ARE YOU OK!" I shouted

She jumped back in surprise and looked up at me. My eyes met hers and I couldn't look away. She had beautiful eyes. I was only snapped out of my trance by a loud hissing sound. Wait did she just hiss at me? I looked at her and saw deep cuts all over her. I could tell she had lost a lot of blood. I reached out and picked her up and she started kicking me and punching me. It hurt but I knew I needed to get her help.

"PUT ME DOWN!" She screeched

I ignored her words. If she didn't get help she might die from blood loss. I quickly ran back to my house and called Mitch.

"MITCH!"

"what biggums?"

"I NEED YOUR HELP NOW!"

"Ok be over right away"

I hung up and set her down on the floor. She wasn't moving anymore. I put my hand to her neck and was horrified when I felt nothing.

"nononononononononononononono!" I said over and over again as I felt tear come to my eyes.

I heard Mitch run inside my house.

"why did you.....OH MY GOSH! WHAT THE FUCK!?!?" He said looking at her in horror.

I looked up at him while tears streamed down my face.

"Please just help her" I said softly in between sobs.

He felt her pulse.

"she still alive, but barely" he said

He helped me carry her to the bathroom and we cleaned her cuts so they wouldn't get infected. I looked at the cuts more carefully. They almost seemed to form words. I froze as realized they were words but not just words they were names. Mitch must have noticed too because he froze for a few seconds before bandaging her up and covering up all the names.

*another time skip of 1 week*

The girl sat curled up on the couch. She hadn't said a word to either of us.

"please talk to me" I begged her for the thousandth time

She just looked at the ground and said nothing.

"can you tell me your name?" I asked not expecting an answer but was surprised when I got one.

"Kitty" She said softly
