Chapter 2:Fufilling all Cliches
6 rant: fulfilling all cliches
When I pick up a book, I expect it to have plot twists, not start listing every freaking cliche in stories existed since people started speaking English. Here's a couple of cliches:
Cliche 1-*Every single highschool student is absolutely gorgeous. Every one deserves to have a modeling career.* I read books loaded with cliches and every student they describe belongs in movies or a modeling career. Seriously! They could be just average, and does no one realize that sometimes, people get acne? It doesn't even have to be a "pepperoni face," more like a simple pimple. Usually, the handsomeness the authors describe doesn't come until college.
-----------------------
Cliche 2- *Of course, the "bad boy" falls the "sweet innocent girl" that likes to help others.* R. I. P. O. F. F. Nicholas Sparks already wrote a book like that in the 90's. For goodness sakes! It was a mega-hit that made major revenue and it was made into a movie! Don't pretend that your idea is actually original. And most of the time on Wattpad the two are "misplaced labels" (First rant chapter)
---------------------------------
Cliche 3- *A geek/lame/wallflower guy falls in love with a beautiful, drop-dead gorgeous, Emma Watson level girl at first sight. Her ex or current boyfriend is on the football/baseball/soccer team and he is a total jerk!* I want to rip out someone's kidney when I see those. First off, if the guy had never talked to the girl in his life, but he's in 'love,' he's the actual jerk that probably just wants to get in her pants. And just because the boyfriend/ex is an actual catch doesn't make them suck harder than an airplane toilet. Even if the ex/boyfriend is a jerk to him, our geek really shouldn't be trying to break them up unless the boyfriend is abusive to his girlfriend. Otherwise our geek really deserves to get kicked.

Cliche 4- *A super masculine hero saves a damsel in distress who does NOT STOP CRYING!* This cliche has literally been around since people started speaking English. For goodness sakes, this is not medieval England, where the prince saves the princess and heads off to have 20 mistresses after the wedding. The stories where all the female protagonist does is cry and wait to be saved really deserve a negative vote if there was one. Defying this stupid cliche is exactly what made the Hunger Games so popular, Katniss didn't sit around bawling out her eyes like she was 5. She got off her butt and even managed to save it along with Peeta's butt.
----------------
Cliche 5- * All futures are horrible and dystopian, where the governemnt is crap* Seriously? In the future, technology will no doubt expand, making life better. And if you are going to create a dystopian future with an evil government, actually make the governement evil. Don't spout BS about how it's so evil when they give you perfect food rations and a perfect husband/wife. Just because society isn't like ours doesn't mean it's evil.
There are a ton more cliches and they are all incredibly annoying to be seen over and over again.
Just like in TV, if someone copies and idea from another TV show it is a RIPOFF.
So write things that are actually original, and your story won't suck.
