*cough* it's Chapter 1 *cough*

Well, here it is!

Rumors...  jokes... lies... they've all told me all those things... I wasn't really meant to be in life, I guess that's what the world is telling me right now... she sighed, gazing at the foggy weather, seeing raindrops slowly slide down from the other side of the glass from the window in front of her. Raindrop to raindrop... it barely ends. Her blue hand gently touched the glass, thinking deeply into her mind. Day by day, night by night... no one has ever found interest in me... and I'm not surprised.

Suddenly, as she was thinking deeply, the door to her big and plain room, opened. She took a deep breath before turning around and seeing who it was at the door. She saw the caretaker of hers, he was there, smiling at her warmly. "Lake, the boss wants to see you..."

Lake's eyes widened in curiosity, she sighed and stood up from the pallet that was right near the window, walking up to the door across the room and approaching the caretaker. Lake smiled a bit, she always loved seeing him, probably because he was her only friend. "Thanks Aster..."

"No problem. Well, cmon. He's waiting for you." He chuckled, and so did she. Having a tint of red on both of their cheeks. (A/N: *cough* Asterlake *cough*) Lake started walking out of the room, through the door and into the halls. She headed to the boss's office. It wasn't too far from her room, which she doesn't mind at all. She saw other rooms through the halls too, they were her roomies, they were just like her. Lost their minds... their thoughts... completely insane, unlike Lake who loses her mind only when she's stressed out. Lake glanced at them for a second, she could tell that they were frustrated, just like her. She could see it through their eyes, that they were broken. Just like her as well. Lake furrowed her eyebrows in sadness, feeling completely guilty for her fellow people.

Finally, Lake arrived at her boss's room, knocking at the metal door, only giving a slight echo through the halls. Finally, the door opened automatically for her, shifting to the side and giving her room to enter. She took a deep breath, setting foot inside the room until she saw her boss. He stood there, facing the vampire in his chimney, but then turned around to see Lake. He smirked ever so slightly. "Ah, Lake. So nice to see you."

"Thanks I guess." She said softly, pacing towards her boss, who glanced at her. Her hair was literally short, like a buzz cut, and she wore a simple yet blain light blue dress. Her boss glanced at her for a moment, and finally spoke. "We have a visitor soon, so it's best if you stay in a good behavior."

"Aye, aye." She said quietly, she never actually talked in her outside voice with her boss, she was sometimes afraid of what he would do to her, but honestly, her boss would never hurt her, in a certain way of course. He nodded, and excused her. Lake nodded back, turning around and leaving the room.

Once a month, a visitor would arrive, considering keeping one of us, insane people. And I'll tell you... not many people takes one of us and takes care of us, trolls. But this month, has to be my chance. But I won't be surprised either...

... if I wasn't chosen...
