Random Thought - Trees are quite abstract things.

If you think about it, trees can be something to climb and have fun on, but on the other hand, they can also be mysterious, ominous, dangerous things in stories.

Enchanted forests, dark shadows, sunlight filtering through the trees, so many descriptions of trees out there.

A tree cliché (yes, they exist) that annoys me is that every tree, especially oak, seems to be gnarled. Trees can be smooth too, people!

A lot of fantasy stories seem to be set in forests, with gnarled oak trees. What about in a cherry blossom forest, or a redwood forest?

One time me and my sister went a tiny bit into the woods of our local park to climb a tree, and found a dead chicken.

I don't have much more to say about trees. Sorry for not posting a chapter of world building last week. My phone keyboard was playing up, and after half an hour I had no motivation to continue the chapter. I'll post that chapter as well as another one tomorrow to make up for it. Sorry about that!
