A Little Too Much (George Weasley)

It was an ordinary night, like any other night. The sky was dark, and the stars shone brightly in the country side because there wasn't many street lights. The crickets sang, the cicadas called out to each other, but other than that, there was no sound. The horses slept in the barn, while chickens sat quietly in their coop. The lights were out in the several houses that sat, several meters apart. One house had a living room light on, signaling someone was up. Outside, in the field before the house, layed a girl. She was average in height, when standing. Her ginger hair was splayed around her, and her bright green eyes sparkled in the moon light. She had a faint, content smile on her face. She looked to be about twenty, and this is the most comfortable she had been after the Battle of Hogwarts.
Soon, a crackle was heard a few feet away. She tilted her head up, looking behind her. She saw a head of red hair, and she smiled. George had been the only person to get her to actually talk, even if it was just a few words. He walked over and layed down beside her, his hand intertwining their fingers together.
They layed there in silence, too content to break it. Finally, George sat up and looked at the girl as she sat up as well. Both of the adults lost someone in the battle. George lost his twin, Fred. The girl lost her brother and father. Her father didn't die immediately, but he died later because of his wounds. Neither of them were themselves afterwards, but they helped each other heal.
"Caroline," George said. The girl, Caroline, hummed. "Do you think they're ok?" He asked quietly. She looked over at him and smiled.
"Of course they are. I have a feeling that they're watching over us right now, happy that we're happy," She comforted. Oh how unknowingly true she was. At the moment, Fred and Adam, Caroline's brother, were standing there, watching them. They were happy that the two found happiness from each other, and that they're healing.
"Yes we are, Caroline. Yes we are," Adam whispered. He missed being able to protect and care for his sister. He missed when she would kiss his cheek and he would chase her around the house. When he caught her, they would laugh till their father joined in, making them laugh more. He missed teasing her, and he missed the times when they would just sit on the couch, watching movies all night, cuddled under a blanket. But he was happy that she found George. The twins knew Caroline and Adam in school. Caroline was in their grade, in Gryffindor. Her brother was a grade older, only he was in Ravenclaw.
"What song fits us tonight?" George asked. They did this every night. Caroline would choose a song that felt like it represented them and what happened today, and they would listen to it until they fell asleep. Sometimes it was outside, like tonight, other times it was inside, on the girl's couch.
"Hm... A Little Too Much by Shawn Mendes," She replied. George nodded as she pulled her phone out and played the song. They sat there, letting the sound of the music fill the air. The two layed back down on the grass again, Caroline's head resting on George's chest. She listened to his heartbeat, letting it and the song pull her towards sleep. Her heavy eyelids slowly closed, and finally her breathing slowed as she fell asleep. George watched her lovingly. He turned his head towards the sky just as the song ended and sighed.
"Fred. If your there. I miss you. I really do, but I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I love Caroline. And I'm scared I'm going to end up hurting her. If you are here, listening, please tell Adam that she misses him, and so do I. And tell him that I will do everything I can to protect her," George said. Fred and Adam smiled at the red haired boy.
"I miss you too, George," Fred whispered.
"I trust that you will do everything you can George. I know it," Adam said. As they went to leave, a soft wind blew through the couple's hair, comforting George into knowing that they heard him. He smiled contentedly and closed his eyes, falling asleep under the stars with his loved one.
