Swim Banquet

Sooo... I guess this qualifies for nerdiness since swimming is my sport. Anyway, last night I went to the High School Swim Banquet. It was my first year on the team since I'm a freshy, but I knew plenty of peeps cuz most of us swim on the USA team as well as the high school team. There was really good food and the whole thing was both really emotional and super fun!

After we ate, our coach got up and started talking about the team. (He is a fantastic coach, he used to coach for Pitt University and we got him two years ago.) He called up each class and gave us our awards/gift bag. I lettered this year so I'm suuupppeeeerrrr happy!!! 😀😀😂. For every class (except us freshmanXD) he talked about each swimmer. Also for our class he talked about how we had all done really well, etc. and how our class alone had doubled the size of the team😂. When Coach got to the Seniors, he started to get choked up, he is so sweet. I almost cried too and am about to just writing this 😂😢.

Also, I uh... I need girl advice. So calling all humans of the female sex. This girl, who apparently has been trying to flirt with me the entire swim season, (my two friends only told me in January) asked me literally the day they told me if she could send in this picture for the slideshow thing at the end and I said yes. At the end the pic was there and everyone 'awwwed', I swear these people ship me with all of my female friends🤦‍♂️😑. The ENTIRE night, she was flirting with me and trying to get my attention ( my two friends were literally trying to hold on their laughter). WHAT DO I DOOOOOO???!!!  I don't want to hurt her feelings, but at the same time I like someone else and they like me back, plus I'm not actually allowed to date.  *screams and runs out of room*.

*Comes back in much more composed.*

At the end, we had 'Senior Passdown', where seniors pass down goofy awards and sentimental items to others. I got the "Most likely to be late award" from one of the seniors I look up to the most, and the "tough stuff award" from my other fave senior. The alarm clock is the first award for obvious reasons and that has been passed down for a long time, but the nail is the second award and a new tradition. It is a nail, because "nails are tough, they are hit and banged on and they go through whatever for you". She gave out three nails, one to each freshman boy who was always in the 500 freestyle for EVERY and I mean every swim meet, yet never complained. That was just so special and sweet to me.

Then, we all said goodbyes and took pics and all and it was super nice.

Thanks for reading my rambling 😂, please give me advice, and see ya later. SF

Up top are the clock and nail.

this is my letter pin ignore my ugly fingers😂

This is my team. You don't get to know who I am tho XP.
