I did promise you all where I went. Well, I went to Guatemala this vacation!

This isn't the first time I've been to Guatemala, but I did take pictures of a castle and the ruins Guatemala had called Tikal.

No, not the character Tikal.

Here are pictures of the castle.

From what I learned, this castle was actually run by pirates when they took this part of land for themselves.

Now, on to the temples of Tikal!

This is actually a tree that the Mayans worshiped as sacred. From what my sister read, they called it the Tree of Life. It was so tall that I couldn't get a full picture of it.

They are still discovering new artifacts to this day.

From what we could gather, this temple is still being excavated.

This is called the Temple of Windows, but it is also called the bat temple because bats live in there.
