Tusk thing
"Next, please."
Dusk voice was slightly tired, and bored. Her job was repetitive, answering the same questions over and over again, for the same types of people. Dark circles showed up under Dusk's purple eyes, the eyes themselves drooping and half lidded.
Her eyes open all the way when a customer storms up and slams a vacuum onto her desk. She jumps slightly, and her lip trembles. "I NEED A FULL REFUND, RIGHT NOW!" The customer, a large red headed man, yelled at the top of his lungs. "C-can I see y-your receipt, s-sir?" Dusk stuttered, shaking.
"I LOST IT." The man growled loudly, narrowing his eyes at Dusk. "IS THAT A PROBLEM?" Dusk quaked in place, cowering. "Y-yes, it-"
"TOO BAD!" The man screamed, and Dusk jumped back. A new voice joined the fray. "Sir, I'm going to ask you to calm down." Dusk scanned the room, and her eyes stopped on a handsome young man in a police uniform. Her had black hair, and stunning brown eyes. He had an athlete build, and a warm aura about him.
The man halted as he saw the police uniform. "I-i don't want no trouble, man!" The man stuttered, scampering out of the room. The police officer turned to Dusk. "Are you alright, ma'am?" He sounded concerned, and made Dusk feel oddly warm inside. "O-oh, I-I'm...I-I'm f-fine!" Dusk's tongue tripped over every word.
The man peered at Dusk's name badge. "Dusk, that's a pretty name. I'm Terry, I hope to see you around."
And with that, he waved goodbye far too soon.
Dusk hoped to see him too.
