Popular Girls
Dear popular girls,
I don't care whether you're a stereotypical movie school slut or a prep at my high school.
The people you call nerds, dorks, and geeks are the people who actually have the brains to get somewhere in life.
You may call them a loser now, but one day they could be a famous paelontologist who discovers new species to form a missing link, or a game developer who introduces a whole new style of gaming.
I want you take a minute and think about this: where do you see yourself five years after you graduate high school? Ten years? Fifteen? Twenty? Do you see yourself in a successful career? One that you have a passion for?
Or do you see yourself dropping out of school and working at one of the few places that hire people without diplomas?
And what do you post on your Facebook? Twitter? Snapchat? Potential employers will look at your social media profiles and even possibly come across your YouTube channel. What you post online could affect your chances at landing a job drastically.
And even if you get the job, some companies keep strict tabs on their employees. Say or write the wrong thing online and you could lose your job that easily.
And think back to your school days? Were you always a social butterfly? And what mattered more: your education or your social life? It's okay to mix the two, as long as you keep the balance stable.
What you do now while you're in school will affect how your life plays out for the rest of the time you have on this Earth, make these days count, so you're not suffering the consequences in the future.
