The Enchanted Woods
READER'S POV
After last night's events, I couldn't stop thinking about Dark Link's shocked expression when he saw my scarred wrists. I decided to take a walk through the woods so I could try and clear my head from these thoughts. However, Link wouldn't let me go by myself since he was worried about me and how Dark Link and the others are still out there searching for me.
"Link, for the last time, I'll be fine, I won't go far."
"I'm taking that risk, Dark Link or Ganon could be lurking in those woods waiting for the right moment to strike."
I sighed annoyingly and then Zelda spoke up.
"Link, leave her be, (Y/n) doesn't need you to keep watching her back all the time, she just wants some alone time to herself."
"Ugh, fine."
I giggled when Link looked annoyed by this before walking away.
"Is he always like this?"
"Link tends to be overprotective sometimes, just try not to stay out there for too long."
"Yeah, yeah."
I said as I left the castle. I walked through the woods for a while and for once, it was peaceful and I didn't have to worry about my bullies chasing me. Just then, a baby deer came over to me and I knelt down to it as it came closer. I gently stroked its head and it seemed to enjoy it. I smiled at it before the baby deer ran back to its mother. I lose that smile when I remembered about my parents.
'I miss you, mum, dad.'
I thought to myself before standing up and then a familiar voice spoke up.
"Well, well, look what do we have here."
I felt a shiver go through my spine when I recognised that flirtatious voice. I felt arms wrap around my waist from behind and that voice said to me.
"If it isn't the little runaway princess, you look so cute wearing that dress."
"Get off me!!"
I shouted before breaking free from his grip. I turned to look at Ghirahim and he smirked at me as I backed away from him.
"Now, now, there's no need to be afraid, I won't bite."
"Stay back!"
I yelled and then Ghirahim got behind me after teleporting. He rubbed my shoulder and I trembled in fear when he did this.
"I wondered where you disappeared to, Darkie wouldn't tell me anything while I was searching high and low for you but, who would have thought you were in the Hero's care this whole time."
Ghirahim held my chin and he made me look at him.
"So, Dark Link has been keeping quiet about you and he's been having his fun with you, not fair."
My eyes widen in shock when I saw that look in his eyes and then he pins me against the tree. Ghirahim smirked at me and then he licked his lips.
"Now that Dark Link is out of the way, why don't we have some fun?"
"No! let me go!!"
I yelled and then Ghirahim leans to my neck and he whispered to me.
"No way, Dark Link had his fun, now it's my turn."
Ghirahim began to lick my neck making me squirm and struggle under his grip.
"Kya! stop it!!"
I felt tears in the corner of my eyes and then Ghirahim's hand ran under my skirt and then he touched and squeezed my thigh.
"Mmm...stop it! please!"
"Beg and cry all you want, but, I'm not stopping until I've had enough."
I closed my eyes and I mumbled.
"Dark...Link...help..."
"ENOUGH!!"
A familiar voice shouted and it was the one person who I called out to. Dark Link stood there with an angry look on his face and he shouted.
"Get your hands off her!!"
Dark Link used his shadow ability to catch Ghirahim and then he tossed him aside like a rag doll. I slid down against the tree as the relief rushed through me. I felt my heart beating so fast that I thought it was gonna explode. I watched Dark Link stand in front of me with his master sword at the ready and he glared at Ghirahim.
"I already warned you not to touch what doesn't belong to you didn't I?"
"You did, but, why did you keep quiet about the girl's whereabouts? Master Ganon did say that he wanted you to find her and bring her back to his castle."
"I'm aware of that but, I'm not ready to hand her over yet, besides, he said that she's my responsibility and I can do whatever I want with her."
'I'm not someone's toy!!'
I shouted in my head. I watched the two of them glare at each other and I could feel the air go cold.
'This is bad...they're gonna kill each other.'
I thought to myself before Dark Link spoke up.
"Ghirahim, do me a favour and scram before I use this blade to send you back to hell."
"I will once I've had my fun with her."
I scrambled to my feet and I made a run for it.
DARK LINK'S POV
I watched (Y/n) run away from us and then Ghirahim spoke up.
"Oh dear, the little princess has done a runner, shall we give chase?"
"Sounds good to me, whoever gets to her first will do whatever they like with her, but let me tell you this now Ghirahim, you can't keep up with someone who can merge with the shadows."
I said before merging with the shadows and I heard Ghirhaim shout.
"Oy! come back here!"
READER'S POV
I ran and ran through the woods until I managed to lose sight of Dark Link but, I knew that he and Ghirahim were gonna show up sooner or later and I knew I had to get out of the woods. I stopped for a moment to catch my breath and I looked around to find a hiding spot. I found a cave and I didn't have time to check to see if it's safe so I rushed in there before Dark Link and Ghirahim caught up with me. I ran through the cave for a while and I stopped to get my breath back. My lungs were hurting but not in a bad way, they were sore from all the running I did.
Once I got my breath back, I looked around and I noticed the cave contained rainbow coloured crystals. I was amazed and captivated by their beauty and I smiled a little.
"How beautiful."
I walked through the crystal cave and I then glimpsed at one of the crystals until I saw one of my memories from my childhood there. I heard the voices of my giggles and my mom praised me for doing a good job on my artwork when I was still in primary school. I smiled a little and then a gentle voice spoke up.
"These crystals reveal your past."
I jumped in fright and there stood a beautiful man with long red hair, violet eyes and pale skin. He wore dark red hooded robes and he wore a necklace that has a small rainbow coloured crystal and his bracelets were made from leather. I didn't know if he was a friend or a foe, either way, I wanted to run but, my body was frozen with fear.
"Don't be scared, miss, I won't hurt you."
He said in a calm soothing voice before he gently wrapped his arm around my shoulders while holding onto his cape to pull me closer to his chest. I blushed a little when he did this and for some reason, I felt calmer and safe around this man. The mysterious man gently stroke my hair and he whispered.
"It's all right, you're safe now."
The fear that I once felt rushing through me was now gone. I looked up at his face and I asked him.
"Who...who are you?"
"I'm the keeper of the crystal cave, my name is Ryuu."
"Ryuu...thank you for comforting me like this, I'm-"
"I know who you are, you're (Y/n), the one that the hero's shadow has his eye on."
I was surprised that he knew who I was and then we heard the two voices that I didn't want to hear.
"Where did she go?!"
"How can one little girl give us the slip?!"
I gripped onto Ryuu's sleeve when I heard those voices.
"Don't be scared, I'll get us someplace safe, sorry about this."
"For what? ...eek!"
Ryuu suddenly picked me up like a bride and I held onto his neck.
"Stay quiet and try to relax."
I nodded my head and then he carried me out of the cave. Once we got outside, I saw fireflies surround us and then Ryuu said to them.
"Hold them off as long as you can while I get this girl far away from them."
At first, I thought he was going crazy until I took a closer look at the fireflies, they were actually fairies.
"Fairies?!" I shouted in a surprised tone.
"Yeah, we're on the other side of the woods now, this is the one place those fends won't be able to find you," Ryuu said as he walked through the woods with me still in his arms.
As we walked through the woods, I looked at the surroundings and they were amazing as a few more lights flew around us. I held out my hand and then a fairy sat on the palm of my hand and she smiled at me. I smiled back and then a few more fairies appeared and they were either sitting on my shoulder or play a bit of my hair that wasn't tied back.
"The fairies seem to like you," Ryuu said with a smile. "Normally, they would fly away in fear from a human but, there's something about you that attracts them to you."
"Really? wow, that's a first," a small smile appeared on my face when I said this and then the fairies flew away from us.
Eventually, the forest got brighter as the sky turned dark. Ryuu had taken me to a village that was filled with fairies and people. I was amazed by this scenery and then Ryuu told me.
"You're in the enchanted woods, my dear, this place is a sacred place that was created by the three goddesses many centuries ago. You're the first person from Hyrule and from a different world to come here," I was surprised when Ryuu told me this.
Ryuu finally puts me back down on the ground and then, another man who was dressed like Ryuu came over to me. He has elf ears which I assume he's either Hylian or the leader of the fairies and he wore turquoise robes and the edges were a light blue colour with gold trimmings. He looked between me and Ryuu before speaking up.
"I take it this girl is the one who Ganon has been searching for?"
"Yes, she was running for her life and she stumbled into the crystal cave. I couldn't let those monsters have her, the poor girl has been through enough already," Ryuu said as he gently stroked my hair.
"Um...who are you?" I asked nervously while fidgeting with my fingers.
"I'm the chief of the village, the name's Loki, nice to meet you, Miss (Y/n)," Loki took my hand and kisses the back of it like a gentleman.
I blushed a little when he did this and then he turned his back towards us.
"Follow me, we've got so much to talk about," Loki walked ahead of us and then we followed after him.
As we walked through the village, the villagers glanced at me and then they looked at Loki and Ryuu with admiration in their eyes, my guess is they're well loved and respected. We got to a large temple and when we entered we saw a few more Hylians and fairies there and it looked like they were celebrating something. They glanced in our direction and they were impressed and amazed when they saw me. One of the men came over to us and he looked at me up and down.
"Master Loki! is this the girl who's from a different world?!" The man said with a twinkle in his eyes.
"She sure is, isn't she as cute as they said?" Loki said with a smirk.
I blushed a little when he said this before and then the man nodded his head with a smile.
"I'm amazed, she's even prettier than they described!" The man said with a smile.
I didn't know what to say and then Ryuu wrapped his arm around my shoulders again. I looked at him and he said to me.
"It's all right, there's no need to be nervous, come with me, we'll give you a change of clothes," Ryuu made me walk alongside him with his arm still around my shoulders.
As we went to one of the empty rooms, I was curious about what's going on.
"Um, is there some kind of event going on here?"
Ryuu nodded his head for a yes when I asked him this.
"It's to celebrate my brother's coronation, as he said, he's the chief of the village now," Ryuu said with a smile and I knew who he was talking about.
"You mean Loki? I noticed that you two looked similar but, I wasn't expecting you two be brothers," I pictured the two of them standing next to each other and they almost look like twins.
Ryuu chuckled and then we got to one of the empty rooms and two maids were already there, waiting for us.
"Ladies, please dress this girl into some nice clothes for the coronation," Ryuu ordered the maids in a nice tone.
"Of course, my lord," The maids spoke in unison before they pulled me into the room by my wrists.
"H-Hey! hold on! wait a sec!"
Ryuu chuckled at my reaction before leaving the room to let me get changed in peace. The maids dressed me in a (F/c) elven dress that has a matching see-through cape that clipped around my neck and it sat loosely on my shoulders. The accessories were a silver locket, a tribal leather bracelet with some white stones on it and a hair clip that held back some of my hair. The maids made me stand in front of the mirror so they can fix my hair. Once they were done, I looked at myself in the mirror and I looked beautiful.
'Wow...I had no idea I looked this beautiful before...'
Just then, someone knocked on the door and when the maids opened the door, Ryuu stood there waiting for me. Ryuu looked at me up and down and he smiled at me.
"They did a good job on you, nice work ladies," Ryuu praised the maids who were smiling proudly at their work.
Ryuu held out his hand for me and I took it as he led me out of the room. I had my arm wrapped around Ryuu's arm and I felt a little nervous. Ryuu noticed this and he continued to smile at me.
"Hey, there's no need to look so nervous, we won't bite," Ryuu spoke confidently.
"I can't help it, but, why are you inviting me to this coronation? I barely know you and your brother," I looked away as I said this while Ryuu continued to smile at me.
"True but, we've heard rumours about you and how the hero's shadow likes you but, the fairies have also told us about these teleportation orbs, it's true they're ancient magic, however, we know more about them since they were originally in our possession many centuries ago during our ancestors' time," Ryuu explained to me.
I wanted to know more about the teleportation orbs but, for now, all I can do is keep my head held high and continue to hang around with Ryuu.
