CHAPTER 78 (END)
AFTER 10 YEARS

"Appa, this is so fun!" Taehan shouted happily, his voice full of excitement. I couldn’t help but smile. He was ten now, and his joy made my heart swell.
Taehyung, sitting right behind him on the horse, held him close, making sure he was safe. "Hold on tight, Han! I’m going to go a little faster!" Taehyung said, his voice full of excitement too.
They were riding around near the royal cottage, where we spent time as a family every week. No matter how busy life got, Taehyung always made sure to leave his royal duties behind for a day to be with us. He was a wonderful father, always putting his family first.
Suddenly, I heard a soft little cry beside me. I smiled, already knowing who it was—our sweet baby girl, Taehee. She was just one year old now, and everything about her was adorable.
"Oh, my little sweetie pie woke up," I whispered, bending down to pick her up. Taehee rubbed her sleepy eyes with her tiny hands, looking even more precious.
"E-Eomma," she said in her soft, baby voice, trying so hard to speak. She couldn’t say many words yet, but she always tried, and it made us all smile.
"Yes, my love," I answered, kissing her soft forehead. She didn’t say anything else, just looked in the distance, her big eyes watching her appa and big brother riding the horse.
"Look, your oppa is riding the horse" I told her gently. "One day, when you’re a big girl, you’ll ride a horse too."
Taehee giggled, showing her tiny two teeth, and my heart melted. Her laugh was the sweetest sound in the world.
I watched as Taehyung turned the horse toward us, stopping right in front of where we stood. He gently helped Taehan down from the horse and then got off himself.
With a big grin, Taehan ran straight toward me, wrapping his small arms around my legs. His happiness made me chuckle.
"Did you have fun, Han?" I asked, looking down at him. He nodded eagerly, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Yeah, Eomma, I loved it" he said, his voice full of joy. I smiled and gently ruffled his messy hair. Then he looked up, spotting his baby sister in my arms.
"Oh, my princess! Looks like you had a good nap," Taehan said, doing his best to mimic Taehyung’s deep voice, making me laugh softly.
Taehee she saw her brother. It was clear how much they loved each other’s company. I hoped they would always stay close and be good siblings as they grew up.
Just then, I noticed Taehyung walking toward us, a soft smile on his face that made my heart skip a beat.
The moment Taehee saw her appa approaching, she began wiggling in my arms, her little hands reaching out eagerly.
"Appa" she babbled, her excitement growing with each step he took. I sighed softly, trying to calm her down, but she was already too eager to be in his arms.
"She’s all yours,"I said with a playful smile, holding her a little tighter as she wriggled again. "You’ve got her completely wrapped around your finger.'
Taehyung chuckled, his eyes warm as he reached out to take her. "Of course, she’s Daddy’s princess," he said softly, gently lifting Taehee from my arms. The instant she was in his embrace, she snuggled close to him, her tiny hands clutching his shirt as if she never wanted to let go.
"Hey there, my sweet girl," Taehyung said softly.
I smiled, watching them together, my heart melting at the sight. It was always hard to take her back once she was in his arms—she was completely attached to her appa, and I couldn’t blame her. Seeing them like this filled me with so much love, it was hard to put into words.
"She really doesn’t want to leave you," I teased, though I knew it was true. Taehee was happiest in Taehyung’s arms, her safe and favorite place.
Taehyung looked at me with a tender gaze, his voice soft. "I guess she knows how much her appa loves her." He leaned down and kissed Taehee’s forehead, then gave me a smile that sent warmth straight to my heart.
___
After the horse ride, Taehyung began playing with Taehee, her soft giggles filling the air. But soon, her little eyelids grew heavy, and I knew she was getting tired.
I gently cradled her in my arms, breastfeeding her until she drifted off to sleep. Afterward, I carefully placed her in her cradle, wrapping her in a warm blanket. Watching her tiny chest rise and fall, my heart softened. She looked so peaceful, like a little angel.
Just as I stood there, lost in the moment, I heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. My brow furrowed in confusion. What’s going on in there?
Curious, I quietly walked toward the kitchen, taking slow steps. As I neared the doorway, I froze, hearing the unmistakable voices of Taehyung and Taehan.
"Woah appa, this is so tasty" Taehan’s voice echoed in excitement. Peeking around the corner, I spotted him sitting on the kitchen counter, his face covered in icing. My eyes widened as I realized what was happening, and I sighed.
Oh no.Damn, That's My strawberry cake
Taehyung, standing next to him, had a mischievous grin as he shoved another piece of my strawberry cake into his mouth. "See, Han? Your eomma’s cooking is the best," he said with a satisfied moan, clearly enjoying every bite.
I facepalmed silently, trying not to laugh at the sight of them devouring my cake like two mischievous children.
Before I could say a word, Taehan spotted me. He froze in place, eyes wide with guilt, and quickly wiped the icing from his face with the back of his hand.
"A-Appa," he stammered nervously, tugging at Taehyung’s sleeve.
Taehyung, completely unaware, continued eating. "What is it, Han? Hurry up and finish before your eomma finds us. Otherwise, we’ll both end up sleeping outside tonight," he whispered, clearly thinking I wasn’t around.
Taehan swallowed hard, his eyes darting toward me. "B-But, Appa... I think we’re already in trouble," he muttered, tapping Taehyung’s shoulder.
Taehyung finally looked up and followed Taehan’s gaze to find me standing in the doorway, arms crossed, with a raised eyebrow.
Caught red-handed.
I placed my hand firmly on my waist and glared at both of them, trying to maintain my stern expression. Taehyung, knowing he was caught, gulped nervously, looking at me with wide, puppy eyes. He even pouted, trying to win me over. Of course, Taehan, like the little copycat he was, mimicked his father perfectly—pouting and giving me the same pleading look.
It was almost too adorable to resist. I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing at their cuteness, but I held my straight face.
"Kim Taehyung," I said, narrowing my eyes, "how dare you eat my cake without permission! I baked it to enjoy after dinner, but you two thieves couldn’t wait!"
Taehan, still trying to act innocent, looked up at me with his wide eyes. "Sorry, Eomma, but Appa said you wouldn’t mind. He told me we should finish it."His pout deepened, making it impossible not to smile, but I stayed strong.
Taehyung’s eyes widened in shock, turning to his son with a look of pure betrayal. "Yah, Taehan! You were eating it too, enjoying it just as much "
"But Appa took the first bite" Taehan argued back quickly, throwing his father under the bus. He then turned back to me with the most innocent expression. "Eomma, I’m too little to know better. Appa said it’s okay!"
I sighed heavily, walking toward them, my smirk hidden as I tried to keep a serious expression. "Ah, I see... my sweet Taehan is innocent, but your Appa... he needs to learn a lesson, don’t you think, honey " I teased, patting Taehan’s head lovingly.
Taehan chuckled, enjoying watching his father squirm. "Yes, Eomma! Appa needs a punishment," he said, his little eyes gleaming with excitement.
Taehyung, ever the playful one, grinned mischievously and nodded. "Yes, love, I deserve a punishment," he said, his voice laced with excitement. I could see his mind was already racing with some dirty thoughts, and I rolled my eyes in mock disgust.
I leaned in, whispering with a smirk, "You don’t get to touch me for a whole week."
Taehyung’s face dropped instantly. "What?! No way " he cried dramatically, his expression turning into a comical mix of shock and despair.
"Yes, that’s your punishment,” I said, trying to hide my amusement.
Taehan burst into giggles, looking at his father’s devastated face. "Appa, you’re in big trouble!" he teased.
Taehyung pouted again, this time genuinely looking upset. "Come on, love! That’s too harsh!" he whined, but I just laughed, thoroughly enjoying the sight of him squirming.
"You’ll survive," I teased, giving him a playful wink before turning to clean up the remains of the cake.
As I turned to tidy up the kitchen, I could feel Taehyung’s eyes boring into my back. I couldn’t help but smile, knowing he was probably plotting some sort of grand counterattack.
"Eomma" Taehan chimed in, hopping off the counter and trying to help. "What else can we do while we wait for dinner?"
I glanced over my shoulder to see his little face lit up with enthusiasm. "Well, we could play a game or read a book. What do you think?"
"Let’s play a game!" Taehan exclaimed, his excitement contagious. "Appa, you can’t just eat all day!"
I turned to Taehyung, crossing my arms and raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, Honey. You can’t just sit there and eat cake. We need a good family game night to make up for your cake-thieving crime."
Taehyung sighed dramatically, but the playful grin returned to his face. "Fine, but I’ll win no matter what. Just know, my little innocent ones, I’m still a master at every game"
I laughed, shaking my head. "You think so? You may be good at eating cake, but I doubt your skills when it comes to games."
Taehyung stood up, stretching his arms. "Challenge accepted! What are we playing, then?"
"Let’s start with a classic: charades" I suggested, excitement bubbling in my chest. It was a game we all loved, and I knew the silliness that would ensue would lighten the mood, especially for Taehyung after my 'punishment' announcement.
"Okay, I’m in!" Taehan shouted, clapping his hands together.
Taehyung took a step closer, eyes sparkling with mischief. "But if I win, you have to rethink that whole ‘no touching’ thing."
I rolled my eyes, trying to suppress a smile. "Deal! But if I win, you have to clean the entire kitchen after dinner."
"Deal!" he replied, a competitive glint in his eyes. "Alright, Taehan, you go first "
Taehan jumped up and down in excitement, and I couldn’t help but feel a surge of warmth as I watched my two favorite boys. They took turns, each one dramatically acting out their charades, and laughter filled the kitchen. Taehyung mimicked a chicken, flapping his arms wildly, while Taehan tried to impersonate a lion, roaring with all his might.
"Roar louder, Han " Taehyung encouraged, laughing heartily.
I clapped my hands, joining in the fun. "You’re both ridiculous!" I said between giggles, my heart swelling with love for them.
Finally, it was my turn. I took a deep breath and began mimicking a fish swimming. Taehan’s eyes widened, and he burst out laughing. "Eomma, you look so silly"
I finished my act, dramatically flopping around before settling down with a flourish. "Well, what did you expect? I’m the best fish in the sea"
Taehyung clapped his hands, his laughter echoing in the cottage. "That was epic! I think we have a winner here "
The playful banter continued, and for those moments, everything else faded away. I felt incredibly grateful for this life we were building together, the laughter and love spilling over into every corner of our little family.
As the evening wore on, I couldn’t help but sneak glances at Taehyung, his laughter ringing like music in my ears. Even after our playful bickering, I couldn’t deny how much I cherished these moments.
"Alright, next round! Who’s in?" I asked, my heart full.
Taehyung raised his hand eagerly. "Me! I’m going to be the best charades player ever—just watch!"
And as I watched him prepare for his next act, I couldn’t help but feel a warmth inside. In this little cottage, surrounded by love and laughter, I knew we were building something beautiful together, one playful moment at a time.

After dinner, we all went to the bedroom. I was lying on the bed with Taehee sitting on my stomach, babbling away. I couldn't really understand her, but it made me smile. She was so cute, just like Y/n. My little princess.
Taehan sat next to me, busy coloring in his book.
"Eomma, look! I colored this butterfly. Is it good?" he asked, holding up his book for Y/n to see.
Y/n looked over from where she was brushing her long hair in front of the mirror. She smiled brightly. "Oh, my Han is so talented! It looks amazing" she said, giving him a thumbs up. Taehan beamed, his smile looking just like mine. He really was my little twin.
As Y/n returned to her reflection, I couldn’t help but admire her. My queen was breathtaking. I would never get enough of her. This life we had built together was everything I could ever dream of. The love I had for her grew deeper each day. Her kind soul and maturity kept our family happy and whole. If someone were to ask me what perfection looked like, I would point to Y/n—my queen, my heart. She would reign in my heart forever.
When she caught me staring, our eyes locked, and I could see a delicate blush spreading across her cheeks. A warm chuckle escaped my lips, delighted by the effect I had on her.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" she asked, feigning innocence, though her eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Just admiring my queen," I replied, my voice soft but teasing. "How could I not? You’re the most beautiful woman in the world."
Her blush deepened, and she smiled shyly, looking back at the mirror. "You’re going to make me melt," she murmured, a playful glint in her eye.
"Good. That’s my plan," I said, grinning as Taehee let out a little giggle, sensing the affection in the air.
"Eomma, can I color more?" Taehan interrupted, eager to show off his creativity once again.
"Of course, my little artist!" Y/n replied, her voice warm and encouraging.
As she continued to brush her hair, I felt an overwhelming wave of love for this family. The laughter, the love, the little moments we shared—it was everything I had ever wanted and more.
___
After both of our kids fell asleep, Y/n and I stepped outside the cottage. The night air was crisp and cold, but the freshness invigorated us, making our hearts feel alive.
I moved closer and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her into a warm back hug. I buried my face in the soft curve of her neck, inhaling the sweet scent of her hair. A sigh of relief escaped my lips as her warmth enveloped me.
Y/n smiled softly, leaning back into me, giving me silent permission to hold her close. She placed her hands over mine, intertwining our fingers.
"Isn’t it beautiful out here?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper, filled with warmth.
"It is," I replied, feeling the peacefulness of the moment settle over us like a comforting blanket.
Feeling playful, I slowly began to plant gentle kisses along her neck, savoring the softness of her skin. I could feel her shiver slightly, and it made my heart race.
"Taehyung," she breathed out, a soft moan escaping her lips. "What are you doing?"
"Just reminding you how much I love you," I murmured against her neck, licking the spot just below her ear, making her gasp softly.
She leaned her head back, giving me better access, and I could feel the warmth of her body radiating against mine. "You’re so bad," she teased, her voice playful yet breathless.
"Only for you,"I replied, kissing her neck again, my heart swelling with affection. "I can’t help it. You drive me wild."
Y/n turned slightly to face me, her eyes sparkling in the dim light. "You know how to make a cold night feel warm, don’t you?"
I grinned, my heart full. "Only because you’re here with me."
She turned her head slightly, looking back at me with a playful glint in her eyes. "You have a funny way of showing it, but I’ll take it."
I chuckled, pulling her even closer. "I just want you to know how special you are to me."
With a light laugh, she turned fully in my arms, facing me now. Her eyes sparkled in the moonlight, and I couldn’t help but lean in, capturing her lips with mine in a soft, lingering kiss.
We stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, the world around us fading away. It was just us—lost in the moment, warmed by love and the promise of forever.
