CHAPTER 72
Author pov
The entire palace was gripped with tension. Y/n had escaped, and Prince Doyun was found unconscious by Ulsan soldiers.
Soldiers rushed through the halls, their faces pale with fear, while soldiers exchanged nervous glances. The news had already reached the king, but what truly shocked the court was the sight of Prince Doyun, found unconscious by the Ulsan soldiers, sprawled lifelessly on the cold stone floor.
The king stormed into the grand hall, his eyes blazing with fury.
"HOW—HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!" he roared, slamming his fist onto the armrest of his throne, making every soldier present flinch in fear. His eyes were wild with anger, demanding answers, but no one dared to speak.
Meanwhile, Prince Doyun was under the care of the royal doctors, who were trying hard to wake him up. He still hadn’t woken up, even though the doctors were doing everything they could.
"WHERE WERE YOU ALL WHEN SHE ESCAPED?!" the King roared again, his face flushed with anger. He stood from his throne, his fists clenched tightly at his sides.
"How could you let this happen under your watch?!" Soldier's heads hung low, eyes glued to the floor, too afraid to meet the King's furious gaze.
"Answer me!" he demanded.
The Queen, seated beside him, glanced over with a worried expression, her fingers gripping the armrest tightly. "My lord, please calm down," she said softly.
"We must focus on finding out what happened to Doyun."
"I know," The King stopped pacing and turned to look at her and said.
"But Y/n—how did she slip past the guards? How did this happen under our watch?!"
"Your Majesty, we’re doing everything we can to track her down. We won’t rest until she’s captured," one of the soldiers finally uttered. The King glared at them with a dangerous gaze and sighed.
"Tell all the royals to come here immediately, including Prince Taehyung," he commanded one of the soldiers. The soldier bowed before the King walked out of the hall.
After that, every royal made their way to the royal meeting hall, where the King of Ulsan sat arrogantly in the king’s seat, as if he owned the place. Taehyung’s hands clenched into fists at the sight. Anger boiled inside him. That old man had no right to sit there.
His fingers twitched with the urge to grab the king by the neck, to choke him until he could no longer draw breath. But Taehyung forced himself to stay calm, his jaw tightening. He couldn't afford to make a scene , not yet.
Namjoon, standing beside him, noticed Taehyung’s tension and gave him a subtle nudge, silently reminding him to stay composed. The two of them were all this kingdom had left, and they couldn’t risk acting recklessly now.
"That bitch has escaped from here, We assume someone helped her. We need to find that person as soon as possible." The King of Ulsan growled, He eyed everyone in the meeting hall, as his gaze swept the room, it finally landed on Prince Taehyung. Taehyung met the King’s stare with a look of pure anger, his eyes blazing with fury.
"How could this happen, Dad? We hired high security for this," Princess Hana spoke up, her voice sharp with anger and disappointment. She crossed her arms, glaring at the soldiers standing nearby.
Before the King could respond, Taehyung’s voice cut through the hall like a knife.
"What the fuck are you saying? You caged her without telling me? HOW DARE YOU!" he shouted, the entire room fell silent as all eyes turned to him.
Taehyung knew he had to play his part to protect Y/n. He had to pretend he knew nothing of her escape.
Princess Hana shot him a cold glare and rolled her eyes dramatically.
"Oh, you don’t need to know everything, Taehyung. And that’s good. From now on, she’s no one to you," she snapped, a smirk playing on her lips.
Taehyung’s jaw tightened as her words hit him hard. His eyes filled with anger as he stared at her, his breathing becoming rough and heavy. He struggled to hold back, his whole body tense with frustration. The anger inside him felt like a storm ready to explode, but he knew he couldn’t lose control now.
The fact that no one knew Y/n was pregnant. If they found out, they would try to harm their child.
The King sighed, furrowing his brow, wondering how Taehyung didn’t know Y/n had been here. He felt suspicious of him. But after seeing Taehyung’s furious expression, the King assumed he really knew nothing. What a fool, the old man had no idea it was all part of their master plan.
"Soldier Namjoon, I want information about everyone involved in this. And how Doyun ended up like that," the King commanded, his voice firm. Namjoon smirked internally, already knowing how to handle the situation.
"I'll handle it, Your Majesty," Namjoon bowed, though unwillingly.
"And try to find her whereabouts. I want every bit of information about her. Once we catch her, I'll show her who the real bitch is," Princess Hana spat, her hands curling into fists as her nails dug into her palms, as she imagined Y/n’s downfall.
Taehyung suddenly stood up, the chair scraping loudly against the floor. He slammed his palm onto the table with a loud thud, making everyone jump.
"IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO HER, YOU'LL SEE THE REAL BEAST INSIDE ME. I WARN YOU," Taehyung shouted, his voice echoing through the hall. His eyes locked onto Hana with pure hatred, his whole body trembling with anger.
Taehyung knew they wouldn’t find Y/n easily, but he needed to tighten her security. His chest rose and fell with heavy breaths as he turned to leave. But before he walked out, his eyes met Namjoon’s. They exchanged a brief, secret smirk, both knowing they had played their parts perfectly.
"You don't have to shout like that, so-called Prince Taehyung. Remember, I didn’t harm you only because my daughter begged me not to. That’s why I spared you. Otherwise, you’d be locked in a cell too," the King said in a strict voice.
Taehyung rolled his eyes, clenching his jaw. His hands balled into fists, but he stayed clam.
"It’s better than your fake concern. Bastards," Taehyung muttered under his breath, glaring at the King, his eyes burning with anger.
Without another word, Taehyung marched toward the exit, his steps quick and firm.

"Jin, come on. This is the last bite. Just eat it," Haerin pleaded, holding out the spoon of porridge. Jin whined like a child, turning his head away stubbornly.
"Haerin, I’m full," Jin complained, his voice dragging as he leaned back against the headboard, crossing his arms in defiance.
Haerin sighed, feeling frustrated as she was starting to lose her patience."Jin, you need to eat to get your strength back. Stop acting like a baby," she said, glaring at him.
Jin peeked at her from the corner of his eye, still refusing. "But it tastes weird," he mumbled.
Haerin shook her head, stepping closer and holding the spoon in front of him again. "You’ve been saying that for two days now. You need to eat if you want to get better."
Jin groaned but finally opened his mouth, taking the bite. "Happy now?" he muttered, chewing slowly.
Haerin smiled, relieved. "Very happy. See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?" She took the bowl away, giving him a playful look as she started cleaning up.
Jin smirked, leaning back with a teasing tone. "You’re worse than the doctors."
Haerin laughed lightly, shaking her head. "And you’re worse than a child."
After they arrived in Busan, Jin was placed under Doctor care. It took two days for him to finally wake up, and while his condition had improved, the doctors insisted he remain on bed rest.Throughout those days, Haerin had been by his side, taking care of him.
Suddenly, they heard someone cough from behind, making both of them turn their heads toward the door. Jimin stood there, arms crossed over his chest, a playful smirk on his face as he looked at Jin teasingly.
Jin rolled his eyes and asked, "What?"
Jimin walked over to them, and Haerin quickly stood up out of respect. "I came here to tell you something important," Jimin said.
Hearing this, Haerin glanced between Jin and Jimin, thinking it was a private matter. She was about to leave, but Jimin’s voice stopped her.
"Hey, it’s okay. You can stay. It’s actually about Taehyung and Y/n," Jimin said.
Jin’s eyes widened in surprise. There had been no news about them until now. He was desperate to know what had happened to them and how they were doing. His heart raced with worry.
"Tell me, are they okay?" Jin asked hurriedly, his gaze locked on Jimin, desperate for an answer.
Jimin sighed heavily, nodding his head, trying to ease the tension in the room.
"They're in the castle, but under Ulsan’s control," Jimin said.
"What? So they caught them? Damn it," Jin cursed, biting his lip anxiously, his mind racing with worry.
"Hey, don’t worry. They’re fine," Jimin reassured him, placing a hand on Jin’s shoulder.
"Taehyung isn’t alone—Namjoon is there to help them," Jimin reassured, watching as Jin let out a sigh of relief.
"And there’s more good news: Y/n is pregnant," Jimin added with a bright smile, his eyes crinkling with joy.
Haerin gasped, her eyes lighting up as she smiled widely. "Oh my gosh, that’s really good news!" she exclaimed, her voice full of excitement.
"My Taehyungi is going to be a father," Jin said, his face breaking into a wide grin, showing how happy he was at the news.
Jimin then began explaining everything that had happened inside the Daegu castle, sharing how Suga had uncovered crucial information. He detailed the plans they were making and how they were working on them. Jin listened intently, his expression serious, ready to do whatever it took for the kingdom.

Soyoung cried badly after they received the news that Daegu kingdom was attacked by Ulsan’s forces, filling the air with tension.
It had been four months since they came to the Gwangju kingdom, to her parents' hometown, after Y/n's wedding. During those months, they stayed here because of Soyoung's pregnancy. She needed her mother, so Jungkook brought her to this kingdom.
Jungkook watched as Soyoung’s shoulders shook with each sob. He quickly moved to her side, wrapping his arms around her trembling body. He gently wiped the tears from her cheeks, his thumb brushing away the wetness with care.
"Honey, please don't cry," he murmured. He stroked her back softly, hoping to calm her down.
"Tomorrow, I’m planning to go to the Busan kingdom. At least Taehyung’s friend might help them. And I also want to know how Y/n and Taehyung are doing."
Soyoung looked up at him, her eyes wide with worry. "What? You’re leaving tomorrow? Shouldn’t I come with you?"
Jungkook frowned, his expression firm as he shook his head.
"Are you crazy. It's too risky for your health." He placed his hand gently on her eight-month baby bump, his thumb brushing over it with care.
"You need to stay here and take care of Aru and yourself."
Soyoung sighed, her breath shaky as she nodded. She lowered her head, resting her hand on top of his as she tried to calm herself down.
"But I'm scared. What if something has happened to them? I’m feeling bad about them, Jungkook," she said, her voice trembling with worry. Jungkook sighed, reaching out to gently hold her hand, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on her skin.
"Don't worry, Our Y/n is strong, and Taehyung is with her. I’m sure they’re doing okay. But I should go tomorrow to find out more about them."
Soyoung nodded slowly, her lips moving in a silent prayer for their safety. She rested her head against his shoulder, seeking comfort in his presence.
"I hope so," she muttered under her breath, her eyes closing as she tried to push away the fear gnawing at her.
Jungkook gently lifted her chin, his eyes shining with excitement.
"I’ll be back before our baby is born," he said, his voice full of hope. His excitement made Soyoung smile, even though she was still worried.
