CHAPTER 69

Jimin lost in deep thought, struggling to understand what had happened to the Daegu kingdom. The news of their friendly kingdom's attack had left him and the entire royal court in shock. How could such a powerful kingdom be suddenly attacked?.

He ran his fingers through his hair, frustration and worry etched on his face.

"This doesn't make sense," he muttered to himself.

His thoughts were interrupted when he saw his soldiers rushing toward him. "Y-your majesty, Prince Jin is here!" one of them shouted.

"Prince Jin? Here? How...?"

Jimin quickly rose from his chair, his eyes wide with surprise. His gaze turned to the entrance of the hall, where Prince Jin staggered in, badly wounded. Cuts and bruises covered Jin's body. Haerin was holding him up, with Hoseok supporting her.

Jin took a few more shaky steps, his hold on Haerin loosening. He attempted to speak, but the pain proved too much. Gripping his injured arm tightly, his face twisted in pain , Jin staggered ahead, each step a painful struggle.

"J-jim-" Jin couldn't finish his sentence. With a sudden weakness, he collapsed to the floor with a loud thud, causing Haerin to let out a frightened scream.

"JIN.."

Jimin's eyes widened in shock. Without hesitation, he rushed to Jin's side and knelt down next to him. He gently slapped Jin's cheeks, trying to keep him conscious.

"Jin, oh god, call the healer, now!" Jimin shouted, One of the soldiers quickly bowed and dashed off to find a royal healer.

Jin, struggling to speak, choked on the blood trickling from the corner of his lips. His eyes, barely open, looked at Jimin with desperation.

"J-jimin, please p-protect our kingdom. If something h-happens to me, p-please take-"he whispered weakly, but Haerin cut him off, not letting him finish.

"Don't talk like, Jin! You're going to be fine. Just hold on," Haerin said. Her eyes filled with tears.

Jin turned his head toward Haerin, seeing the tears streaming down her face. Each tear seemed to match the pain he felt inside, making his heart ache more. Her eyes were full of worry and sadness, and it hurt him to see her like this.

Even though he was in a lot of pain, Jin tried to give her a weak smile, hoping to comfort her. It was hard to do, and his breathing came in sharp, uneven breaths. He shifted a bit on the cold floor, trying to make himself more comfortable, but it was almost impossible.

On the other hand jimin could feel the life slipping away from his friend, and the fear of losing him was almost paralyzing.

"The healer will be here any second."

Jin's grip weakened, and his eyes began to close. "P-protect... Daegu,"he muttered, his voice barely audible.

"I will, Jin. I promise. Just hold on," Jimin's heart broke at the sight of his friend in such pain.

"We need to get him to the healer's chamber immediately," Jimin said tension filled with his voice.

With a worried expression, Jimin carefully lifted Jin into his arms. He carried him toward chamber, each step filled with anxiety. His mind raced with questions, but now was not the time for answers. First, he had to make sure Jin received the care he needed.

The royal doctors arrived quickly and began to treat him. As they examined Prince Jin, Jimin walked out of the chamber. He saw Haerin and Hoseok standing quietly in the corner, their heads bowed in respect.

He walked toward them and stopped directly in front, making them bow even lower. Haerin and Hoseok looked up in surprise when they realized that Jimin and Jin were royals. They shifted uncomfortably, remembering how they had casually chatted with them in the village without knowing their true status.

Jimin chuckled as he watched their reactions, causing them to look up. "You don't need to be so formal," he said with a friendly tone. "Remember, we were friends before all this."

Haerin let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing. She gave a small, grateful smile, her eyes softening as she looked at Jimin.

"It's hard to believe," she said.

"We had no idea who you really were."

Jimin nodded, understanding their shock. "We didn't want to reveal our identities back then. It was safer that way," he explained.

Jimin cleared his throat and turned his gaze toward Hoseok, his expression serious as he searched for answers. "So, How did you two meet Prince Jin?" he asked, his tone full of curiosity.

Hoseok shifted slightly, glancing at Haerin before meeting Jimin's eyes. He took a deep breath, spoke.

"We escaped from the village because Ulsan's soldiers destroyed the entire kingdom and set our house on fire. We barely managed to save ourselves," Hoseok explained, his voice heavy with emotion.

"As we were making our way through the forest, we stumbled upon Prince Jin, covered in bruises and cuts. We were shocked and didn't know what to do. Prince Jin suggested that we should head to the Busan Kingdom. He showed us the way, and despite many hardships, we made it here."

Jimin sighed and nodded as he listened.

"It must have been terrifying," he said softly. "But you did the right thing by bringing him here."

"Do you know if Taehyung and Y/n are under their control?"Jimin asked, his face tense with concern. Haerin gasped, her eyes widening as she covered her mouth.

"Oh God, what should we do now?" Haerin said, fear and sadness clear on her face.

"That damned Ulsan did this to their own friendly kingdom. We shouldn't have let them go so easily," Jimin said, clenching his jaw in anger.

"And they dared to kill the king of Daegu,"he added. Haerin and Hoseok's eyes widened in shock. They didn't know what had happened inside the palace. All they knew was that Ulsan had destroyed their village and taken control of the kingdom, leaving many poor souls to suffer.

"This whole situation scares me so much. I'm really worried about Jin. I hope he'll be okay," Haerin said, her voice trembling as she fought back tears. Hoseok looked at his sister with sympathy, understanding how deeply she cared for Jin and aware of her feelings for him.

"Don't worry. He's strong. Nothing will happen to him, and he'll recover soon,"Jimin said, comforting her with his words. Haerin nodded, trying to hold back her tears.

"Don't stress too much about it. We're working on what to do next. Once Jin wakes up, we can get more information about what actually happened there." Jimin patted Hoseok's shoulder gently, offering a reassuring smile. He could see the exhaustion in Hoseok's eyes, the weight of their journey etched into his features.

"You two should rest after your tiring journey," Jimin said, signaling a nearby soldier to come forward with a wave of his hand. The soldier approached quickly, bowing respectfully to his majesty.

"Show them to their rooms," Jimin commanded. The soldier bowed deeply, then turned on his heel and motioned for Hoseok and Haerin to follow him.

"If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me,"he added. Haerin and Hoseok bowed deeply, their faces filled with gratitude

"Thank you so much, Prince Jimin," Haerin said, her voice trembling slightly as she looked up at him with gratitude.

"Aish, as I said, we're friends. Just call me Jimin. You too, Hoseok." He replied with a friendly, reassuring smile.

"Okay, Jimin," Hoseok said, his face lighting up with a grateful smile.

"Rest well, both of you. I will inform you when Jin wakes up," Jimin said, watching them leave with the soldier.

With that, Jimin turned and walked away, his mind already racing with plans and worries.

Midnight enveloped the kingdom in darkness. The castle was cloaked in an eerie silence, the only sounds being the haunting cries of bats and the soft, deliberate steps of our feet.

Namjoon and I made our way to the prison area. I was hidden beneath a dark cloak that made me hard to recognize. I sighed as we walked, while Namjoon's sharp eyes scanned our surroundings, ensuring no one saw us.

Suddenly, He held up a hand, signaling for me to stop. We pressed ourselves against the cold stone wall, barely breathing as footsteps echoed down the hallway.

"Someone's coming," Namjoon said.

We couldn't fail now, not when we were so close. I gripped the small, hidden dagger at my side, ready to fight if needed.

"Hide," he mouthed, pointing to a dark corner. I slipped into the shadows, holding my breath as the footsteps drew nearer. My heart pounded as I waited silently, staying still and alert.

The group of soldiers walked past us, not noticing we were there. After a few moments, he signaled me to follow. We carefully moved forward until the prison entrance came into view.

"Almost there," Namjoon whispered. "Just a little further, your majesty." I nodded.

My heart raced with every passing second, knowing I was finally about to see her after two excruciating weeks. The mix of excitement and dread gripped me tightly.

After a tense moment, He stopped, and I followed suit, coming to a halt in front of the cell. My breath caught in my throat as I slowly looked inside, and the sight that greeted me froze me in place.

I saw her.

She lay motionless on the cold dirty floor. No, this couldn't be real. Someone, please tell me this isn't my Y/n. I swallowed hard and looked at Namjoon. He nodded quietly and started to open the iron door slowly, signaling for me to go inside.

But I couldn't move. My legs felt frozen, and I gripped my hands tightly, trying to calm my pounding heart. I stared at her, struggling to believe this was really happening.

Tears streamed down my face, my chest aching with a pain I could no longer bear.

The person I live for, even though I have so many reasons to give up, lies there lifelessly, as if my very soul has slipped away. She is the only one who can make my broken heart feel alive again.

I don't understand why, whenever I try to find happiness, something always takes it away. My life feels so messed up, and my heart and mind are tired from it all. Yet, the only reason I keep going is Y/n and our unborn child.

Yes, I knew she's pregnant. Namjoon had told me about her condition and what she had been through. It made me tense, but the news that I'm going to become a father filled me with indescribable joy.

I cried tears of happiness knowing that a child, a symbol of our love, was on the way. But I also felt a deep sadness because of our current situation, and the fact that she wasn't near me to celebrate this wonderful news.

After hearing this, all I wanted was to hold her close, enveloping her in a warm embrace and smothering her with gentle kisses. Yet, cruel fate kept us apart, leaving us both aching and broken.

But as a father and a husband, I won't let anything come between us. I'll do everything in my power and face any challenge just to ensure their safety and happiness.

My Y/n and My little Baby bear.

Suddenly, I felt a gentle hand on my back, pulling me back to reality. I looked at Namjoon, who gave me a comforting smile.

"She needs you, Your Majesty," he said softly. "Go to her, end her pain. Bring her the news that will make her happy."

I closed my eyes and nodded, trying to gather my strength.

"But, Majesty," He added,
"you must leave before sunrise. Don't worry-I'll stay close and ensure both of your safety."

I nodded again, wiping my tears away. I felt a deep sense of gratitude for Namjoon's support. Without him, I didn't know how I would have managed in this desperate moment.

I took slow, careful steps toward her, my heart pounding heavily in my chest. I wasn't ready to see her like this, but I had no choice-she needed me as much as I needed her.

Moonlight filtered through the dark cell, illuminating her fragile body. Her pale skin seemed to shine even brighter in the soft light, making my heart race at the sight of her beauty. I took a deep breath and moved closer to her delicate figure.

Shaking, I set the bag I had brought on the floor and knelt down in front of her. The cold stone beneath me matched the chill in my chest.

My hand gently brushed against her cheek, my touch soft as I examined her face, marred by bruises. My heart ached at the sight.

"Love, open your eyes and look at me," I whispered, my voice breaking. "Your Taehyung is here." My trembling fingers reached out to her hair, softly running through the long, silky strands.

"Y/n, please wake up," I whispered again, I leaned closer, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Her body shifted slightly in response to my touch. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open, revealing the familiar, innocent gaze I had missed so deeply.

Our gazes locked, and the connection between us sent a wave of warmth through my entire body, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin. I gently cupped her face in my hands, my heart aching with both love and relief.

"T-Taehyung... is that really you?" Her voice was weak and low but clear enough for me to hear. I gave her a reassuring smile and nodded.

Her trembling hand reached up to touch my cheek, her cold fingertips brushing my skin. A faint smile appeared on her lips.

I covered her hand with my warm one. "Yes, it's me," I whispered, leaned into her touch, savoring the moment.

"My Taehyung came to see me,"she whispered again, tears streaming down her cheeks. My own eyes welled up as I nodded.

Without hesitation, I gathered her into my arms, holding her tightly yet gently, careful not to hurt her already bruised body. I buried my face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent that I had missed so much.

The cell was filled with the sounds of our sobs and whispered reassurances. Her tears soaked into my shirt, and I could feel her body trembling against mine.

Each sob and tear reminded me of how much we missed each other's warmth. The thought of having her back in my arms made me feel alive again, filling my heart with hope.

We didn't want to be separated; we wanted to stay in each other's embrace forever. But who am I kidding? Look at us both suffering, unable to escape our pain.

I slowly loosened the hug, but kept her in my embrace, stroking her back in soothing circles. She continued to cry, clutching my shirt tightly, her fingers digging into the fabric as if she feared letting go. I rested my chin on top of her head, pressing a soft kiss into her hair.

After a while, she calmed down and looked up at me with tear-filled eyes that glistened in the moonlight. I brought one hand to her cheek, wiping away her tears.

"It's okay, love," I whispered.

"I'm here now. You're safe." My thumb continued to caress her cheek, trying to convey all the love and reassurance I felt for her.

"T-Tae, I missed you,"she whispered in her hoarse voice.

"I missed you too, y/nah," I replied . I gently drew soothing patterns on her back while reaching for the water bottle I had brought. Lifting it to her lips, I helped her drink, my heart aching at the sight of her suffering. I wanted to punish everyone who had caused her this misery.

She drank half the bottle without hesitation, and I realized how thirsty she must have been.

Then She gazed up at me with her doe eyes, her hand gently caressing my cheek. Oh, how I had missed her touch. I closed my eyes, feeling her cold palm against my skin, sending goosebumps across my body.

"T-Tae, how did you know I'm here? And what happened to you after that day?" Her voice cracked with emotion, each word laced with pain and longing. I slowly opened my eyes and gazed into hers, taking a deep, steadying breath.

I lifted her onto my lap, her legs wrapping around my waist as her delicate hand rested on my chest. I held her securely, pulling her closer and feeling the soothing warmth of her body against mine.

I began to tell her everything that had happened in the past two weeks, including how I met Namjoon and everything we had been through.

She listened carefully, her expression a mixture of worry and relief. As she listening, her hand never leaving my cheek, taking in every word.

As I finished, she sighed in relief, her fingers tracing small patterns on my chest. "I'm so glad you found me," she whispered.

"I'll always find you," I whispered back, holding her even tighter.

Then my eyes traveled over her visible skin, noting the bruises that marred her. I clenched my teeth in anger.

Just wait and watch. When the time is right, I'll make each and every one of them suffer for what they've done to her.

With dark, determined eyes, I let my hand drift to the bruises on her neck, touching them softly, eliciting a hiss from her.

I leaned in closer, my breath warm against her skin, and kissed the bruises gently. She closed her eyes, a shiver under my touch.

I moved my lips along her neck, trailing soft kisses over each bruise, as if my touch could somehow erase the pain. Her breathing became shake, and I could feel her heart beating rapidly against my chest.

Slowly, I began to slide down her gown, revealing more of the bruises.

How could anyone hurt her like this? The thought made my blood boil. I continued to undress her carefully.

Her collarbone and cleavage, bruised came into view first. I traced a finger lightly over the marks, my heart aching. As her gown slipped further, her breasts appeared, mottled with dark bruises. I clenched my jaw in anger but kept my touch soft. Her stomach and waist were next, each revealing more signs of her suffering.

"W-what are you doing, Tae?" she asked, her voice trembling. I looked into her eyes but continued to undress her.

She hissed again as the cold air hit her bruised skin, suddenly realizing she was only in her undergarments.

"Shhh, love. Let me take care of you,"
