CHAPTER 67
Taehyung pov
My eyes were closed, and my head throbbed so intensely that it felt unbearably heavy. I squeezed my eyes shut, unwilling to open them. As I moved slightly, a wave of pain surged through my entire body, making me whimper in my semi-conscious state. My body, my heart, everything felt utterly exhausted.
Suddenly, I felt someone caress my cheek. Without thinking, I smiled, assuming it was Y/N by my side, watching me as I slept. But then, the hand slowly moved toward my chest, making me frown.
"Y/nahh..." I mumbled, longing to hear her comforting voice in return. But the touch felt wrong, uncomfortable and unfamiliar. This wasn't how Y/N touched me. Her hands were small and soft, and whenever her gentle palm touched my skin, it sent shivers down my spine. But not now. This touch lacked her warmth, her tenderness.
"Y/N?" I repeated, my voice strained and desperate.
Suddenly, the touch on my skin vanished as I forced my eyes open. The harsh light stung, and I blinked rapidly, trying to focus. The face hovering above me wasn't Y/N's.
With my eyes fully open, I looked at the person standing before me, and my blood boiled with anger. It was the person I hated with all my heart, the one who separated me from Y/N. How dare she come near me. Fury surged through me as I glared at her, making her back away and stand up from my bed.
"What the hell are you doing near me?" I shouted, though my voice was weak from the pain still coursing through my body.
"I'm taking care of you, Taehyung," she replied in her fake innocent voice, as if I would melt at her words. Her entire persona was a lie.
"Take care? My foot. After everything you've done, you dare come near me and pretend to care?" I spat, gritting my teeth.
I slowly sat up in bed, holding my head. I felt the bandages wrapped around it and sighed as the memory of what happened flooded back. I turned toward her and glared, causing her to gulp nervously.
"And who gave you permission to touch me?" I demanded. I didn't want her filthy hands anywhere near me. This body belonged to Y/N and no one else. But this shameless woman dared to cross her limits.
"I've been taking care of you for the past two days while you were unconscious. Is this how you thank me?" she said, her voice tinged with disappointment. I rolled my eyes, ignoring her nonsense. Who asked her to take care of me? I'd rather die than thank her for her fake concern.
With a sigh, I looked around and realized I was in my royal chamber. How did I end up here? Maybe these devils brought me back. But where was Y/N? Was she okay? I needed to see her. I couldn't imagine what they might have done to her.
Groaning, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and firmly planted my feet on the cold floor, ignoring the pain that shot through my body. I stood up, determined to find Y/N.
"Taehyung, you need to rest," she insisted, reaching out to stop me.
"Don't You dare to touch me!" I snarled, swatting her hand away. "I need to find Y/N."
"You can't. You're not fully recovered, Taehyung," Hana said, trying to walk toward me, but I held up my hand to stop her.
"Where's Y/N?" I asked in a calm voice, placing my hand on my hip and glaring at her.
"What's wrong with you, Taehyung? My brother tried to kill you, but I stopped him! I saved your life! While you were unconscious, I took care of you, watched over you, and nursed you back to health. And now that you're awake, the first name on your lips is hers? Can't you see how much I love you, KIM TAEHYUNG? I'LL KILL HER!"
In an instant, I closed the distance between us, slamming her against the wall with a force that made her whimper in pain. I didn't care. My hand shot to her neck, gripping it tightly as I fixed her with a fierce, unyielding gaze, causing her entire body to tremble.
"She is my WIFE. The love of my life. Of course, my mind is full of her," I hissed through clenched teeth. She clawed desperately at my hand, trying to loosen my grip, but I held firm, my anger and determination unwavering.
"Taehyung, p-please let me go. Do you want me to die?"
"Die" I tightened my hold momentarily, my anger surging. "You dared to threaten Y/N? If you so much as touch her, you'll wish you were dead."
"You can never see her. That woman deserves far worse. You belong to me, Taehyung. YOU'RE MINE!" She screamed, her voice echoing through the room, stirring anger deep within me. How dare she speak ill of my love? Her words felt like venom, poisoning the air around us.
"Do you have any idea what you're talking about?" I growled, my fist colliding with the wall beside her head, causing her to flinch and squeeze her eyes shut.
"And I will never be yours. You don't love me; you're obsessed with money and power. You're a power-hungry witch who would do anything to possess what isn't yours." I spat out the words, my voice laced with disgust.
She smirked, rolling her eyes at me. "Well, at least you understand that much. But how can I resist someone as irresistible as you?" Her rough fingertips traced along my jawline seductively.
Disgusted, I released my grip from her neck and stepped back, staring at her with disdain.
"Don't touch me," I said through gritted teeth, repulsed by her proximity. "You'll never understand what it means to love someone deeply, to cherish them with every fiber of your being. Unlike you, she is everything to me—my heart, my soul."
Her smirk faltered, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. "You're a fool, Taehyung," she hissed, her voice tinged with bitterness.
"No," I replied firmly, my gaze unwavering.
"I'm a man who knows where his heart truly belongs."
With those words, I turned away from her, intent on making my way to the door. However, a sharp, unexpected pain seared through my shoulder, forcing me to glance back. Hana stood there, a smirk playing on her lips, her hand clutching a syringe ,now I understood what had happened.
"You need rest, Taehyung," she taunted, her voice laced with a chilling calmness.
My muscles tensed, and a surge of anger and fear coursed through me. I tried to move, to confront her, but my body betrayed me. The room spun, and I stumbled, feeling a wave of dizziness overwhelm me. With a desperate effort, I managed to turn and face her, my vision blurring slightly.
"Why?" I managed to grit out, my voice strained and weakened by whatever she had injected into me.
Hana's smirk widened, a cold glint in her eyes. "Because you need to understand," she said cryptically, her tone filled with dark satisfaction.
Before I could utter another word, my legs gave out, and I collapsed to the floor with a heavy thud. Darkness crept at the edges of my vision as I struggled to stay conscious, my thoughts consumed with worry for Y/N and anger towards Hana.

Y/n stared ahead, contemplating the life she was enduring. It had been two days of relentless torture, each moment stripping away her strength and resolve. Her entire body ached as if someone were trying to tear her skin from her bones. There was no one here for her, only herself to endure this agony.
In the suffocating darkness of her cell, loneliness settled over her like a heavy shroud, pressing down on her spirit. She longed to see Taehyung, to feel his arms around her, comforting her, kissing her forehead and making her feel alive again. But she knew nothing of his whereabouts. Was he even alive? Her heart insisted he was, and that he would come for her soon.
Tears streamed down her cheeks relentlessly, each drop a testament to the memories she held dear moments spent with her beloved, her life. She yearned to return to that life, to be in his embrace once more. But fate seemed determined to keep them apart, betraying their love and shattering their hearts.
She pulled her legs closer to her chest, wrapping her arms tightly around them as if she could protect herself from the world. A loud sigh escaped her lips as she sank deeper into the corner, feeling the cold, hard stone against her back.
Just as she was about to close her eyes, the cell door creaked open. She tensed and looked up, her heart racing. A soldier stood there, his expression indifferent as he carried a food tray. She sighed again, a mix of frustration and resignation.
"Here's your slop," he muttered, dropping the tray on the floor with a loud thud. Some of the beans splashed out, the force of his actions showing his disdain.
"Can't you be a little more careful?" she snapped, her voice trembling with a mixture of anger and desperation.
The soldier ignored her, turning on his heel and walking out of the cell, the door clanging shut behind him.
Her eyes were glued to the tray. Beans and a single piece of bread. The same tasteless, unappetizing meal she'd had for the past two days. She felt bile rise in her throat at the thought of eating it again. They were giving her food only once a day, a cruel method to slowly starve her.
With a heavy heart, she crawled over to the tray, picking up the bread and sniffing it. It smelled stale, but hunger gnawed at her insides. She took a hesitant bite, forcing herself to chew and swallow despite the urge to vomit.
"Just a little longer," she whispered to herself, tears stinging her eyes. "I can endure this. I have to."
They treated her worse than an animal. No creature, human or otherwise, should endure such cruelty. But she refused to give up on her life. Deep within the corner of her heart, hope still flickered. She held onto the belief that Taehyung would come to her rescue, shielding her from this nightmare. She clung to that hope, waiting as long as she could, believing in him more than anything.
Her heart felt heavy, and her body was weak. The torture had caused her so much pain that it was more than anyone should have to bear.
"Y/N..."
Suddenly, she heard the voice she had longed for, the only voice that could bring her relief in this moment. Her heart skipped a beat, and she raised her head, eyes wide with disbelief.
There he stood, the person she yearned to embrace, his boxy smile lighting up the dark cell and his eyes filled with an overwhelming love.
"T-Taehyung... Is that really you?" she asked, her voice trembling with a mix of excitement and disbelief.
"Yes, my love." His gentle words were all she needed. The sound of his voice made her heavy heart feel lighter.
A radiant smile blossomed on her lips for the first time in days. She slowly stood up, her eyes locked on him, afraid that if she blinked, he might vanish.
"T-Taehyung... I missed you so much. Are you here to save me from this hell?" she asked, her eyes brimming with hope. Taehyung nodded, his gaze never wavering from her fragile form.
"Yes, my love. Come here." He opened his arms, inviting her into his embrace. That was all she needed. Her heart raced with a surge of excitement, overwhelmed by a happiness only her heart could truly understand.
She reached him and was about to hug him when suddenly, he vanished into thin air, leaving her to stumble back in shock and disbelief.
"No!" she shook her head and turned here and there, searching for her love like a crazed woman. But no, she had only seen a hallucination, which made her break down even more.
"TAEHYUNG! COME BACK TO ME"she cried out, her heart breaking into fragments. She collapsed to her knees, the fleeting hope she felt fading into a profound, throbbing emptiness. The cell closed in around her, the absence of his presence unbearable.
"Please come back. I need you," she whispered into the empty air, tears streaming down her cheeks.
In the silence that followed, her cries echoed off the walls. She curled up, holding on tightly to the fading memory of him, wishing the pain would end.
